Tyson Beckford Gets Close With Transgender Model Ines Rau For Magazine Spread And It Has Folks Talking
Here’s a side to Tyson Beckford we rarely get to see, and when I say “side,” I mean his backside, all oiled and glistening under the lights…
According to FabMagazine, an editorial in the latest issue of French beauty and luxe magazine Oob has paired the 42-year-old former Ralph Lauren Polo model with transgender, rising model Ines Rau for a series of very hot, and very “nekkid” pictures, which are setting the Internet on fire. Brightly entitled In Our Skin, the series of photos takes on both literal and figurative meaning, as both Tyson and Rau’s bodies are intertwined and harmoniously posed for the majority of the black and white spread (they’re a little too raunchy for our site, but see the full images here). But what makes the spread both provocative and controversial (aka viral-worthy) is that it features Tyson posed crotch-to-crotch with Rau and teasingly biting at her lip. Those kind of pictures tend to rehash all sorts of speculation about his sexuality. Why? Because what straight man would pose unclothed in such compromising positions with a transgender woman?
The answer, of course, is a working model, whose job it is to be professional and model. Oh, and a non-homophobe, who in a previous interview with BET, addressed the gay rumors by saying, “Yeah, it’s just one hater that put that on me. But, don’t get me wrong, I work with GLAAD, I work with Gay Men’s Health Crisis—I work with all of that. It’s just I’m a straight man who got a little bit of style so they just say, ‘He’s gay.’”
Nevertheless, it would be hard not to feign some excitement or fascination over the photos, specifically awing at the stunningly beautiful and graceful Rau and pondering how her visibility, alongside one of the sexiest men alive, might impact how society perceives and respects trans women. The website Models.com has an interview with the French/North African model about being transgender in the modeling industry, and she credits as her inspiration Caroline Cossey, aka Tula, the English-born transgender supermodel, most notably known for her role in James Bond films and posing fully unclothed in Playboy. According to Models.com, Rau said:
“After reading her book [I Am Woman] at least two times I realized how important it is to assume who you are with no fears. I am twenty-four years old and have done the change very young, at 16. Until now I wasn’t really out about it. I just woke up one day realizing that it’s enough, I need to embrace who I am and be loved for what I am and what I have been through- without the fear of being rejected.”
Later in the interview, Rau also gives advice to young folks, who too are struggling with gender identity:
“I would tell them to follow what’s in their hearts and to not be scared to do what they have to do if necessary. But very important to have consulted specialists to make sure that changing your body is the right answer. Having a sex change is not the answer to insecurities or other issues, a lot of transgender do not understand that it has to be done with reflection: because of a real deep desire to be a woman from a younger age. It’s fabulous the level of happiness- it’s just absolutely impossible to describe. I’m the happiest girl in the world, just being what I wanted to be. You have to love yourself enough to go for it without the fear of being judged or rejected. That’s my advice for them.”
I think that is beautiful advice for any person struggling with self-acceptance. Other trans woman models who have managed to find success in the industry include Nicole Gibson, Brazilian models Lea T and Roberta Close, and American Next Top Model Contestant Isis King. With such success, you can expect more spreads like this, and we’re all for it.
Sometimes a director will create a music video so raw and emotional we can’t help but think “darn you” as we reach for tissues and wipe away tears after a three-to-five minute emotional roller coaster of a video. That’s precisely the reaction we had when it comes to the items in this list. Here are 15 of the saddest music videos ever made.
Aaron Hall – “I Miss You”
Aaron Hall first started out with the group Guy, but after Teddy Riley decided to take his New Jack Swing to Blackstreet, Hall forged on with a solo career. His biggest hit by himself is the tender love song “I Miss You.” In the video, Hall is over the moon that his lady is expecting his child He showers her with love and affection but his world is turned upside down when she starts having complications from the pregnancy. He ruses her to the hospital but it’s too late.

These fellas can have us breaking our necks to see them at times, but when they open their mouths we think, this can’t be real. Between Chris Brown’s twitter rants, Wale threatening Amanda Diva, and other celebrity jerks we can’t handle the disappointment. These entertainers might be easy on the eyes, but what comes out their mouths is certainly difficult to digest. Click through 15 fine men we love to hate.
Getting older certainly isn’t easy and while some men age with grace and dignity, these 15 stars have been anything but graceful. And quite honestly, we think they’re going through something, say a mid-life crisis?
John Kerry ran for president in 2008, but after losing out to the incumbent President Bush, Kerry went back to work on Capitol Hill as a senator. Earlier this year, President Obama tapped Kerry to replace Hillary Clinton as the Secretary of State. And while he has a lot on his plate dealing with various international issues and the recent events of a chemical gas attack in Syria, Kerry’s change of appearance has a lot of people talking. Sixty-nine-year-old Kerry’s droopy face has been looking less droopy and even a little wider. His rep attributes the new look to exhaustion but a bad Botox injection or recent plastic surgery to the face can also be the cause, as some have speculated.
Back in the day, everybody had somebody they’d see in a movie or on television and say, “DAMN he’s fine!” Like the Idris Elbas and Lenny Kravitzs of today, in the ’90s and earlier we were fanning ourselves over these good looking guys. While some of our crushes didn’t blossom the way we thought they would, the good news is, these fellas just kept on looking good. Here are 14 fine men we used to crush on who managed to somehow stay delicious years (and a few kids) later.

Have you ever thought that some men were prettier than their women, and if not prettier than at least more high maintenance? It might be their grooming or their mannerisms, or maybe even something you just can’t quite put your finger on, but trust me, you know the feeling.
Before you get to clicking I should probably say that there’s real no concrete evidence that any of these men are prima donnas, but based on appearances – which are sometimes telling and sometimes not – these fifteen celebs seem to fit the bill. Of course “pretty” is a matter of opinion here, but feel free to throw yours about these pretty boy floyds in the comments section below.
Prince and his girlfriend Bria Valente may look a lot alike – thanks to their surgeon I suppose, but I dare say Prince is the prettier of the two, and considering his eccentricity – probably the more high maintenance of the two as well. Prince must not only be barbered to perfection, but also made up to perfection, hair styled to perfection, and clothed to perfection. And perfection ain’t easy, or quick.
As a genealogy buff, I’m fascinated by the composite of different races within blacks of African descent. Apparently, I’m not alone. Some of us love to let others know that we are more than just black. This almost goes hand in hand with people that love to tell others that their curls aren’t as tight as the rest of ours because they claim to be mixed with something. Yeah, whatever. But there is something to be said about being proud of one’s origin. Knowing where we came from is an integral part of knowing who we are. Unfortunately, many of us don’t know our genetic makeup due to lack of historically relevant data, money (for genealogical testing), or interest in knowing our backgrounds. Maybe if more of us did, we too could be like these nine celebs that are proud (some maybe too proud at times) of their diverse lineage.
So rumor has it there’s a sex tape being shopped around featuring former model Tyson Beckford, and though his body might have you asking, where can I get a copy? Details about the film sound like the visual may not be as pleasurable for viewers as it was for him.
TMZ has gotten word that someone is trying to sell a 45-minute tape of Mr. Beckford pleasuring himself during a recent Internet video chat with a female model. For the sake of his relationship, that model better be his current girlfriend—you know, the one he “made”—although it wouldn’t make sense for her to sell the tape unless she’s blackmailing him. There’s also the possibility that they broke up since he’s slated to appear on a new celebrity dating show coming this summer, which actually makes her sound like a pretty likely culprit here.
But anyway, there appears to be an interesting soundtrack to this little pleasure fest, mostly Tyson giving lip service about some of the movies he’s appeared in, comments about some of his past co-stars, and best of all, the revelation of one his biggest pet peeves—being compared to Tyrese Gibson. All I have to say is if these are the things this man chooses to talk about while getting off, he’s even more full of himself than I thought.
What’s even more weird is that Tyrese decided to big up Tyson on Twitter once he heard the news. He tweeted:
“What folks don’t know is that Tyson opened the door for me to model…!!
“@TysonCBeckford lol… I’ve pulled a few of your fans who thought I was YOU..!! They were too bad to let them go!! Lol!!!!”
Am I the only one who thinks imposter smashing is lame—on top of saluting someone who doesn’t want to be compared to you? I see why people confuse these two goofballs.
Are you interested in Tyson’s home movie or are you over him?

While there are many celebrities who have hooked up then hightailed it, some, like Jay-Z and Beyoncé, are living happily ever after.
Suppose Jay and Bey became the norm? Would that inspire a few other celebs to hook up and go half on a baby? Click through the gallery to find out who would make a great pair when it comes to procreating.
Thanks to Beyonce, we typically only think about women upgrading men these days and depending on how much you’re willing to invest in a little DIY man project, this is either well worth the effort or a big no-no.
When we talk about men upgrading women, we think of calculated moves, like golddiggers trying to trap celebrities and pro athletes. Although on the other end of the spectrum there’s the Cinderella stories of the average woman sweeping some billionaire off his feet and suddenly not having to lift a finger for the rest of her life—think Jennifer Lopez in Maid in Manhattan. But as enticing as the idea of a financial come up accompanying true love appears in the movies, Tyson Beckford’s recent comments on his regular-girl-turned-supermodel girlfriend are a quick snap back to reality.
The Evening Standard caught up with Tyson to see what the 41-year-old who’s fallen off of the supermodel radar for a while now has been up to and he said some interesting words about his girlfriend, Australian model Shanina Shaik, who has walked for some of the biggest brands in the industry from Victoria’s Secret, Stella McCartney, Vivienne Westwood, and L’Wren Scott. Ironically, as Tyson talked about trying to warn his girlfriend that the fashion industry can be “ugly, mean and shallow,” he said this about her:
“When I found her she was a regular girl. I helped place her with the right people, get her teeth cleaned, her body toned up. Everything changed and now everyone wants a piece of her.
“I hear people say, ‘You can do better than Tyson.’ I’m like, ‘Really? Really?! I created her!’?”
While I get what Tyson is trying to say about people hating on their relationship, he might want to chill on the whole “I created her” attitude. You got her teeth cleaned and hired a personal trainer, what is this MTV’s “Made?” And who tells that? If my man had to do those things for me, I certainly wouldn’t want him bragging about it to a national publication and then trying to act like I can’t go anywhere else because I would just go back to being a “regular girl” without him.
Nowadays most women, black women especially, are focused on getting their own without a man but Tyson’s comments demonstrate what’s tricky about a man completely changing a woman’s lifestyle—she starts to seem like a trophy wife/girlfriend rather than a woman who they fell in love with as they were and then helped them achieve their own goals. I can’t say he wouldn’t have dated Shanina as she was when they first met but his comments definitely make her sound like a piece of eye candy—or that her being with him is the real driving force behind their successful career.
I feel like his “I created her” statement is one of those comments that come out in a heated argument and make you say, “oh, so that’s how you really feel?” At the end of the day I don’t ever want to feel like a man has something over my head by upgrading my lifestyle and showing me the “finer” things in life, as Tyson is apparently accustomed to waking up in “Dubai one day, Paris the next.” I definitely think it’s possible for two people to come from different classes or financial backgrounds and mutually improve each other’s lives but when a man is trying to act like he has to take me from Ragedy Brande to Halle Berry, I’ll pass.
What do you think about Tyson’s comments on his girlfriend? Could you ever let a man upgrade you like he did?
