With the exception of a few sly remarks on social media sites and a couple of radio interviews, record executive Memphitz has been fairly quiet about the drama and domestic violence allegations made by ex-girlfriend and former artist K.Michelle, quiet compared to how vocal K has been about the incident, at least. Instead he seemed to let his attorneys do most of the talking as he is suing Mona Scott Young and Viacom claiming that he was defamed on the show. While we all probably feel like we’ve heard all that we need to hear about the incident,  in a recent interview with Hello Beautiful the former A&R exec. discussed an aspect of the situation that has been fairly neglected by the media – whether or not the incident has affected his marriage to Toya Wright. Check out what he had to say.

It hasn’t affected my relationship. I basically told my wife all of this and even when me and my wife were dating. I basically told her everything that I was going through with that person and the type of stuff that was going on. She was telling me all the stuff that was going on in the relationship she was in with this football player, whatever. I told her everything about this person and as soon as I got wind there was gonna be a show coming out, I told her, that’s the girl. She was like, ‘Oh.’ I used to play Michelle’s music. It wasn’t anything foreign to my wife. When it started happening, my wife was coming at me like, ‘wow you said that.’ I’m not tripping. My wife is cool. I feel that me and my wife have such great communication skills that by the time something is floating around or coming up, we’ve already discussed or joked about it.

I guess it’s a good thing that Memph and Toya can joke about things and are able to effectively communicate with one another, hopefully they aren’t laughing at the expense of a battered woman. But, it seems we will never truly know what went down that day between K.Michelle and Memphitz.

Cute kid alert! Or I guess Reginae Carter isn’t really a kid anymore, she’s a teenager! And now that she’s getting older, moms has her out there taking promotional photos for a possible acting career. Recently Toya tweeted photos of 13-year-old Reginae as she cheesed it up and posed for a photo shoot. She said, “My princess getting her makeup done by @lovejenmakeup for acting demo and website. #superstarinthemaking[sic].” Hey, if Master P’s daughter Cymphonique could get a Nickelodeon TV show, this young lady better start getting herself prepared for stardom!

Through the photos, she seems to look exactly like Toya, but I do see Weezy in the eyes! Outside of acting, the teen is also doing music (she did have a short stint in the OMG Girlz with Tiny’s daughter Zonnique). She has teamed up with friend Lourdes “Lolo” Rodriguez and made the group, Nae Nae and Lolo, and they’re signed to YMCMB. Cute! Make that money early…

Last month, Lil Wayne told GQ that he wanted to be a better father than his own. Well, this weekend served as a little bit of proof about how serious he is about his commitment to his children. This weekend the rapper escorted, Reginae, his oldest child with ex wife Toya, into her Cinderella-themed birthday party.

Hip Hop is hard on marriage.  Any fame is.  But what can be helpful to any union, prominent or otherwise, is meaningful work.  Engaging in your own thing is a good mental health move and helps take the pressure off of a relationship.  The Atlanta Post has rounded up six women who’ve seen beyond the current spoils of marriage to build something of their very own.

They say a good marriage is fifty-fifty.  But if you’ve ever observed one up close, you know that somebody usually runs the show.  In the Snoop Dogg-Shante Broadus variety that person is Shante, aka Boss Lady.  Outside of the home she’s in control as well: she runs Boss Lady Entertainment and Management, where she oversees a range of talent; The Lady Lounge, a dance and recording studio; and CoCoRi, a clothing line.  As if that was not enough she also manages  I Am S.H.A.N.T.E, a foundation to empower girls.

Antonia “Toya” Carter has gone through and experienced a lot in her life and she’s come through it with a new-found love for herself that she applies to her career, her love life and the advice she shares with her daughter, Reginae. The mother and reality t.v. star spoke with Madame Noire about what we can expect from the new show, loving yourself and her latest relationship.
