If you ask older men and women, too many people today name their children things that don’t mean anything, and can barely be pronounced, but that’s not necessarily always true. Some names are variations on classic names with meaning (i.e., Shaquille is a variation of the Arabic name Shakil, which means “handsome”), and some people’s whose name just sounds cool can tell you its origins are more about God and promises for success from their parents, rather than just a catchy moniker. Here are a few famous folks whose names are more than they seem (and yes, you’ll find many of the names to be African).
I know what you’re thinking, Sanaa must mean gorgeous, because this actress is definitely a looker. But no, the name Sanaa is both of Swahili and of Arabic background. In Swahili, it means “brilliance,” and in Arabic it means “art.”
If you haven’t checked out Bethenny Frankel’s show, you might want to get on that. She really has a knack for this thing. And apparently, she gets the juicy tidbits as well. In a show that will air on Tuesday, September 24, Tiki and his wife Traci announced that they’re expecting in December.
Many of us know the seemingly scandalous way Traci and Tiki got together. Tiki filed for divorce in 2010 from his first wife Ginny Cha. The thing is that Tiki and Traci started messing around not only while Tiki was still married but while Ginny was pregnant… with twins. It’s no secret considering Tiki discussed the ordeal (including details of how he and Traci were doing it in his agent’s attic in Sport Illustrated).
Aaahhh good times.
But alas, what’s in the past is in the past and no matter how these two found each other, we’re happy for the arrival of a new child.
Check out the announcement below.
Studies have shown that the chances of an affair turning into a long-lasting relationship are roughly one in 100, but these 15 celebrities have beaten the odds by settling down with their secret lovers. Who’d a thunk it?
Prince Charles first met Camilla Parker Bowles in 1970 at a polo match. Though they dated for a little while, both the Prince of Wales and Bowles went on to marry other people. Prince Charles’s fairytale marriage to Princess Diana was thoroughly publicized. So was their divorce and his extramarital affair with Bowles, who he began secretly seeing again in the 80’s. After his divorce was finalized in 1996, Prince Charles and Bowles kept their relationship out of the limelight, finally tying the knot in 2005.

And When He Get On, He’ll Leave Your A**: Men Who Left Their “Ride Or Die” Chicks When They Made It REALLY Big
Fame can be a good and bad thing. It can be good for the man who gets it, and bad for the woman who stands by his side through it all. While some women have been lucky to have their men stay committed to them as the spotlight gets brighter (think LeBron James and Savannah Brinson), others get distracted by all the good looking chicks throwing themselves at them and eff up. And when that happens, they leave their “ride or dies” for something that seems better. Well, the grass isn’t always greener on the other side (and hey, sometimes it actually is). Check out these 10 fellas who got on and left their longtime loves for one reason or another (including another chick who caught their eye).
Chris Bosh Leaves Allison Mathis, Marries Adrienne Williams
Just as a heads up, know that you’re going to see many a basketball player on this list. It seems they can’t hold it together when the money comes and the thirsty chicks step up. Anywho, Bosh was in a relationship with girlfriend Allison Mathis way back when he was playing for the Toronto Raptors and struggling to get some wins. They met in 2005 and according to the Toronto Star, she was a mainstay at his games for many seasons after that. But by 2008, she got pregnant and things fell apart. There were claims that he wasn’t taking care of his daughter, Trinity, and things got ugly. But luckily, after paternity cleared up, he started supporting his little girl. While he and Allison couldn’t make it last, Bosh found love soon after with his current wife, Adrienne Bosh, and the two married in 2011, giving birth to their son, Jackson, earlier this year. Speaking of marriage, in an interview with VIBE, Allison says they were supposed to make it to the altar first, but sadly, it didn’t happen.
“We talked about it; we actually got fitted for rings and everything. We talked about the different designs and everything so it was definitely in the plans. He, of course, told my mother and assured my mother, because my mother was very kind of against us having a baby before marriage. But he assured her; he told his mother and father, so a lot of my family and I were aware that it was going to happen and it just did not.”

Call it a fall from grace – or perhaps a nosedive.
Or maybe a shrewd business move?
Ex-New York Giants running back Tiki Barber is charging $1950 for an afternoon of flag football. As it turns out, flag football is just one of the many activities available for purchase on the website Thuzio.com.
Barber co-founded Thuzio this year as a sort-of ‘concierge-service’ connecting professional athletes with fans or anyone willing to spend money on the ‘trips’.

It’s one thing to marry a man who you got with while he was still married to someone else. It’s another to walk down the aisle with a guy like Tiki Barber who left his wife of 11 years while she was pregnant with their twins. But former NBC intern Traci Lynn Johnson is taking her chances. The 25-year-old who also babysat Tiki and his former wife Ginny Cha’s kids while supposedly sleeping with the former football star has managed to accept the pro putting a ring on it, and yesterday the two got married in New York City.
The 37-year-old tweeted the news yesterday: ”Many thanks to the NYC Clerk’s office, especially James Mitchell who married me to my love Traci Lynn Johnson! Excited for the next chapters . . .” His now wife followed that up with a photo of their rings, tweeting: ”We’re married Tiki Barber!”
“We were only friends when I was still married. I was separated, out of my house so it wasn’t until then that we took things to the next level.”
Traci said the same:
“Tiki and I were romantically involved when he was separated, and plenty of people who are separated have boyfriends and girlfriends.”
That doesn’t mean it’s a good idea and it’s still suspect that Traci went from babysitter/intern to wife. Yeah, I’m not buying their story. She better keep her eyes open if she decides to have any kids with this man.

Woe is me for Tiki.
First he leaves the New York Giants and they win the Super Bowl the year after. Then he has a little fight with Eli Manning and his leadership skills on the field were questioned. And after all that, he gets an amazing job as an anchor on the Today Show, but is asked to leave after a bit of scandal.
