Double Cuteness! Tia And Tamera Cover Essence’s April Issue
I think I speak for Sister Sister – and Tia and Tamera – fans everywhere when I say seeing the Mowry twins on the cover of Essence magazine is such a happy moment. For one, we are more than impressed with the way Essence has been switching up their covers this year (kudos!), two, we’re tired of seeing the same run of the mill celebs, and three, who doesn’t love these twin mommies?!
For the April 2013 issue, Essence is talking with the sisters about being “Moms in Charge.” We all know Tia’s been handling her business since becoming a mom to son Cree in June 20011. On her Style Network reality show with Tamera, we watched Tia get back in stellar physical shape for The Game, and then we watched her walk away from the BET show in order to pursue even bigger and better things. Now we’re just starting to catch up with Tamera and see how mommyhood is treating her ever since she gave birth to her son Aiden in November.
As Essence puts it in their feature, “Double Vision:”
Life is sweet for twins for Tia & Tamera Mowry. As successful, married new moms, the reality TV stars are adding a new hyphenate to their resumes: entrepreneur. The two recently launched a product line for mothers and babies called Mama Need. ESSENCE gets the scoop on how they do it all, with a smile.
For Tia, she says the smiling part is pretty natural and what you see on their reality show, Tia and Tamera, is exactly how they are in real life.
“We didn’t want to do a reality show if we couldn’t be real—if I couldn’t be myself. There is no ‘evil twin’ syndrome, though we do have evil moments…”
And that’s why we love them!

Kill The Ignorance: Tamera Addresses Ignorant Comments About Her Marriage & Baby’s Race

Source: Tia and Tamera Official
I guess the trolls will never learn that when it comes to coming for people on the internet, their children, even if they are the children of celebrities, should be off limits. Unfortunately, the desire to be seen, to elicit a reaction is stronger than the desire to show even a modicum of human decency. Like her sister before her, Tamera Mowry, is the latest celebrity enduring criticism of her new baby boy, Aden. “Fans” and critics (read: Trolls) of Tamera have recently made some rude and disrespectful comments regarding her interracial marriage to Fox News correspondent, Adam Housley. And now that the couple have expanded their family, these same people are now insulting her son by questioning (?) his skin color.
On the blog that she and twin sister Tia created, Tia and Tamera Official, Tamera decided that instead of addressing the critics, she’d respond to the people who left comments of support and encouragement.
Here’s what she had to say:
Tia and I have always known we have amazing fans, but reading all your messages and comments on this blog make it even clearer. When people say ignorant things about Aden’s race or my marriage with his daddy Adam, it’s easy for me to take it personally – even after all this time, my skin isn’t that thick!
But hearing your stories about your own beautiful, mixed race babies and the love you have for their fathers grounds me back to reality and reminds me of the truth: Skin color has NOTHING to do with love. How Aden looks or grows up to look like – whether he looks more “white” or more “black” – doesn’t matter to me. Why should it? He’s my precious baby boy and my only job is to be the best mommy I can be to him while showing him both sides of his heritage. All I want for him to believe is that love knows no boundaries.
Way to keep it classy and Tamera.
Sisterly Love: Tia Pens Open Letter To Tamera Celebrating Her New Role As A Mother

Source: Tia and Tamera Official
On their new website, Tia And Tamera Official, our favorite twins discuss everything from sisterly advice, motherhood, fashion and beauty and healthy living. Recently, Tamera wrote an open letter to her son, Aden. Tia was so touched by it, she was inspired to send some words of encouragement her sister’s way too.
Dear Sissy,
Tamera your precious angel is here! I am so proud of you! You handled your birthing process with such grace and beauty. While doing so, you looked so beautiful with your braided up bohemian signature styled hair and let’s not forget that sexy, black hospital gown Can we say HOT MOMMA!! You were determined, steadfast and one strong woman. Man, WOMAN– we are strong beings!
Seeing you hold Aden for the first time brought me to tears. I was in awe at how content, happy and peaceful ou were holding your little baby boy for the first time. Aren’t they little miracles? When you handed little A to me, I too was in awe and at peace. My little darling of a nephew had arrived and ,y is he the cutest! I have a nickname for him already. Chunkmink. All I could do was kiss him over and over and over again!
Seeing you give birth, also brought back so many memories, as I too gave birth over a year ago. It was like looking in the mirror. I remember thinking to myself: ‘Wow, this is what I must have looked like! What an amazing picture!
I am so happy you get to experience one of the greatest things that could ever happen to you. Your joy and happiness is now on a whole another level. You are already an amazing mother! You will now get to see the world through your son’s eyes and what a great view! Sit back and enjoy the ride. You are WOMAN now so ROAR!
Love your sissy,
Tia Hardrict
Pretty cute! People who watch the show, especially some of my co-workers, who shall remain unnamed, have said that Tia loves to make everything about her. But I think this is pretty sincere and genuine. What do you think about Tia’s open letter?
‘I Fall In Love With You Each Day’: Tamera Mowry-Housley Pens Handwritten Letter To 1-month-old Son
I was sure that my heart was bubbling over when news broke that actress Tamara Mowry-Housley had finally given birth to her baby boy Aden, but now I think it might just POP! The 34-year-old first time mom took to her Twitter page last night to share a beautiful handwritten letter, which she composed for her 1-month-old son Aden. She posted the heartfelt letter on Tia and Tamera Official, which is a recent lifestyle site that she shares with her twin sister Tia. On Twitter, the actress tweeted, ”An open letter to my sweet little man. Mommy loves you sooo much,” before sharing the love note. Check out the full letter below:
Dear Aden,
You’ll get used to mommy’s tears eventually. I cry at everything. Once I heard I became pregnant with you, I felt a joy that I have never felt before and cried tears of joy. Mommy has wanted to be a mommy ever since she can remember. Once I met your father Adam and we knew we were going to be married, if we were going to have a boy I, me, knew your name instantly. To add to the joy of your arrival, discovering that you were a boy, mommy was even more elated. We had the perfect name for you Aden!
Counting down to your arrival, mommy was so nervous, excited, and anxious all in me. I just couldn’t wait to meet you. You see, lil booger, you took your time to come into this world. Almost two weeks late to be exact. I spent countless nights imagining what you were going to look like. I couldn’t wait to look into your beautiful eyes for the first time and hold you close. I also couldn’t sleep at night because I was hoping and praying that I would be the best mommy I could be to you. I felt very blessed that God has entrusted me with you.
When I saw you for the first time my heart melted and I couldn’t believe such a beautiful angel was mine. I am so thankful for you. Mommy couldn’t be more proud. I know our first four weeks were a lil wobbly. I’m new at this.
I fall in love with you each day even more. On the days and nights my eyes sting of exhaustion, I just look at that face of yours and all is well and VERY worth it. I love you son! Wow! Can’t believe I have a son. Mommy can’t wait to see you grow into a fine young man and I’m looking forward to our many fun adventures together. Love you with all of my heart and soul. I see theworld with new eyes because of you and I thank you for that my son.
Is this the sweetest thing ever or what? Check out an image of the actual handwritten letter and more photos of Aden on the next page.
The Ratché Diet: Why I Quit Watching Trash Reality TV

I have vowed to quit trash reality tv for months now. But after the big ghetto disaster seen ‘round the world that was Love and Hip Hop Atlanta, I meant it more than I ever had. I was so embarrassed for the cast and shaking my head at myself for not being able to turn away from the train wreck that happened on my television screen, every week like clockwork. It was a conversation piece. It was my small chance to play psychologist and try to determine what made these folks get up here on national television and act a plum fool. It was entertainment. And it was filling. Not filling in a “Girllll, that did my soul good!” type of way. Filling in a way that left me kinda sick, frustrated and disgusted. Weekly I was seeing beautiful, talented, broken, misunderstood, hurt women invite me and millions of other Americans into scripted portions of their lives to judge, suck our teeth in disdain, laugh uncontrollably, whatever – as long as we were watching.
I wasn’t learning anything from what I was seeing and I suppose that is the point of most reality television; to simply entertain with little to no educational or uplifting value. It’s just something to do. Something to see. But something clicked and I was no longer satisfied with simply “being entertained.” I can see how it may seem to be blown out of proportion but I have to tell you, once I started reining in my reality television intake, life started to carry a little more hope. I substituted Dr. Steve Perry saving our sons, T.I and Tiny raising their beautiful kids and Tia and Tamera navigating motherhood and Hollywood for those crazy, foul-mouthed mob wives and those catty, overbearing housewives. I started looking for substance and it has been one of the most rewarding investments of time I’ve ever made where entertainment is concerned. The positivity I was looking for was always here, I just had to break my gaze from the debauchery to head toward its light.
In being totally honest, I do catch an occasional episode of Basketball Wives LA (Miss Jackie Christie is six separate shades of crazy and it blows my mind!) but trash reality tv doesn’t hold an ensconced place in my entertainment schedule anymore. I’m looking toward what uplifts, motivates, inspires and showcases folks who have or are walking the same path as me. To each her own. But I’ve given positivity a permanent home.

Style to Steal, or Girl, Stop: E-V-E, Solange, Zoe Saldana & More
Another week, another opportunity to take a look at the smart or silly fashion choices of our favorite sistas. Folks were in full summer mode with all kinds of skin showing, so let’s take a look and figure out what were hits and what were misses.

Looking oh-so-funky at The Teen Choice Awards on Sunday, actress Zoe Saldana wore this eclectic Jonathan Saunders fit on the pink (?) carpet. The green, brown and light blue ensemble was a two-fer, with a puffy skirt and a cropped tank. Saldana paired some satin bow-adorned Louboutin stilettos with the look, as well as some simple hoop earrings. She pulled her hair up and kept her makeup light. I don’t think I would have thought to pair these Louboutins with a skirt and short set like this, but for some reason, I love it! It’s a mature yet playful look all at once. Steal!

She Got It From Her Mama: Celeb Gals & The Women Who Birthed Them
Remember in elementary school, it was kind of exciting to find out what your classmates’ parents looked like? Well, really things haven’t changed all that much. We’re always interested in seeing where folks come from literally and figuratively. And for many of us, Momma represents the origin. So in the spirit of Mother’s Day and being nosey, check out these celebs and their mothers.
Twitter Throwback: Who Are These Celebrity Siblings?

Source: Tamera's Twitter
Ha! How many celebrity twins do you know? Of course, it’s Tia and Tamera. And as a caption for the photo, in adorable fashion, Tamera said: “Love this pic! Always together <3″

Tia's Twitter
And Tia most recently posted pictures of her little family at the beach. She and her husband, Cory Hardrict, are seen walking their little guy Cree on the beach, and the baby (who will be one in June) is all smiles.

Tia's Twitter
And her twin, Tamera, posted a picture of her own growing family. Literally. Mowry’s new addition to the family is due in the fall, and on Twitter she professed that she’s in love with her little bump, and the baby in there too: “Loving my baby bump. I’m obsessed with rubbing it:)” We’re excited that she’s so excited, and the mother to be looks amazing!

Tia and Tamera
Remember these ladies? Well, besides starring on “Sister, Sister” in the 90′s, they have come full circle with their wardrobe. This season, the reality show chronicles everything from Tamera’s new marriage to Tia’s career as a now working mother. Spring has sprung for sure!
Afternoon Adorableness: Tia, Tamera & Baby Cree Plus Mariah and Monroe

Aaaahhh it’s so nice to see that a positive reality show is being picked up for a second season. Twin sisters Tia and Tamera Mowry-Hardrict and Housley, respectively, will partner with the Style network one more time for their self titled reality show. The two recently took promo photos for the show and baby Cree joined them for one of the shots. It’s amazing how big he’s gotten! I can see both his parents in his face but I think he looks more like his dad, Cory.

You can check out more photos from their shoot at Sister 2 Sister.com. Were you a fan of their show? Will you check out the second season?
And in other cute baby news, Mariah took a dip with her baby girl Monroe recently. It’s good to see this little one, since she’s always in the background having a meltdown while her brother is hamming up the spotlight. Both of them looked very relaxed.
