Brooklyn cranked out the curves, y’all! Over the weekend,  fierce plus-sized women flooded Club Freeze, a trendy New York  lounge, to support one thing…

Plush.

The brand spankin’ new “dare to wear clubwear” line was created especially for curvy girls by Bad Girls Club godmother Tanisha Thomas and her good friend Bella, founder of PrimBeauty.

And let me tell you, the journey to success for the Bad Girls Club, Celebrity Fit Club, Love Games, Tanisha Gets Married — breathes — and Marriage Boot Camp star was no piece of cake! But giving up wasn’t an option. “When life throws you lemons, throw it back and demand chocolate!” Thomas said.

After some blood, sweat, and tears, edgy cut-out dresses and body cons weren’t the only fruits of their labor. Born out of a clothing line was an inspiring campaign that encourages women to embrace their luscious, ample figures.

It turned into a big movement on social media — it’s huge!,” Thomas told MadameNoireSo huge, Bella says, that even Plush’s curvaceous model ambassadors are getting recognized by random passersby. The message behind the movement? “Be bold, be you!” Thomas said.

The reality TV star spoke with us to give us the scoop on Plush, a possible, might-be-happening, not-so-sure-yet Orange Is the New Black role, and her upcoming projects.

MadameNoire: What’s your ultimate goal for Plush?

Tanisha Thomas:  Originally we were supposed to be a clothing line. Full-on, custom clothing for the curvy, fabulous fashionista. But then it turned into a huge movement on social networks. We want to continue to build that platform. [We want] women to embrace who they are, love who they are, and just let your light shine!

MN: What was the inspiration behind Plush?

TT:  There was a lack of variety for plus-sized women and I think that we will fulfill that.  We plan on partnering with local designers and giving them the opportunity to showcase their work. I’m all about giving to the community; I want to give the people a chance, just like I was given a chance. People second-guess me and say, “Oh please, she’s not going to help me because [another celebrity] told me that they were going to help me, but they never did.” Yes I am going to help you! I want to help you! I am your fan — you’re my sister and you’re my brother. The plan is that we all make it. Not just me. Let’s all get money, it’s all out there!

MN: You mentioned that you were often rejected by others when it came to your career trajectory. How did you find the strength and determination to keep going and stay on track?

TT: I quit all the time! I quit every day. I think I quit every hour —  I think I quit today! But I always get back on track. My thing is, “What is the bigger picture and how can I get there?”  I set these goals for myself and no matter how upset I get, no matter how stressful it gets, I am determined to make sure I follow through. Even if I fall flat on my face, it’s important for me to say, “You know what — at least I tried!”

MN: What’s the plus-sized industry like?

TT: The plus-sized world is very catty; they don’t want to support. We’ve reached out to so many people — especially me being who I am, I thought that would be leverage… and it’s hard. It will stress you out, people will tell you, “You’re not gonna do it, you’re not going to make it.” What you need to do is believe and trust your brand, you know what I mean?

NetFlix Says Tanisha Thomas Is NOT Joining OITNB

Just yesterday, we reported the “Bad Girls Club” reality TV star Tanisha Thomas was joining season three of one our favorite shows “Orange Is The New Black.” Some of you were excited and others lamented the fact that quality acting roles keep going to reality stars, those who have not studied the craft of acting.

Well, you might not have to lose any sleep over Tanisha taking over OITNB because according to TMZ, a Netflix spokesperson said Tanisha has not been cast for season 3.

Well, this is embarrassing.

That kind of refutes Tanisha’s tweets and Instagram posts as of late.

We don’t know what contributed to this misunderstanding for either party, but whatever’s going on, this is all quite messy.

But we’ll be sure to keep you posted.

Tanisha Thomas, one of our favorite, somewhat reformed members from the “Bad Girls Club” is going from bad to criminal as she joins season 3 of the hit Netflix series, “Orange Is The New Black.”

Thomas announced the good news on her Instagram account a few days ago, with this picture.

And the following caption: And guess who just got invited?!!! :) :) :) :) #blessed #oithnbseason3 look our for your girl ;)

This is a great look for Ms. Tanisha. Though we haven’t seen her do any acting aside from faking the funk on all those reality shows, something inside of me thinks she’ll be an asset to the show. Plus, at this point, I have full trust in the writers and casting directors that make OITNB the magic that it’s been for the past two years.

The new season doesn’t start until June 2015 (sad face), so there’s no word about Tanisha’s character. But you know we’ll be sure to keep you posted.

How do you think Tanisha will fare in this role?

Traci Says Her And Tamar’s Marriages Have Lasted Because They’re Willing To Change

Marriage is no easy feat and one of the prerequisites of a long-lasting one is being able to grow, change, and meet your partner’s needs. When looking at the Braxton sisters, the success rate isn’t so high and though Traci Braxton’s union looked like it wasn’t going to make it when she and her husband of 22 years joined WEtv’s “Marriage Bootcamp,” she assured us things are on the mend now.

When Tracie stopped by the office with her husband and another bootcamp couple, Tanisha and Clive Thomas, we asked the outspoken sister why she thinks her and Tamar’s marriages have lasted while Towanda, Toni, and Trina’s have not. Check out what she had to say in the video above and about how communication helped her and Kevin move on. What do you think?

Where Are They Now: The Black Women from “The Bad Girls Club” (Part 1)

On November 5th, 2012, Oxygen wrapped up the 9th season of “The Bad Girls Club” with a 3 part reunion.  While watching it I realized how far (or low, depending on your way of seeing things) this show has come.  In 2006, Oxygen premiered the very first season of “Bad Girls Club” and created a show that has simultaneously caused entertainment and controversy.  Some people have blamed the show for glorifying violence and teaching women and young girls that fighting is a solution to a problem.  But, however you look at it, it draws viewers in with each season.  Now that the show is about to go into its 10th season in Atlanta, why don’t we take a trip down memory lane and see where some of them have ended up?

SEASON ONE presented the show as a way of trying to help the ladies to fix their negative behaviors.

Season one was memorable for two things.  That Ripsi rampage, and that beach fight.  When the ladies went to the beach, and fellow bad girl Aimee refused to help carry the beach equipment to the car, this created a thorn in Ty’s side.  Not being one to expect people to read her mind, she not only told Aimee how she felt, but she also served her a two piece with a biscuit, causing her to be ejected from the house.

According to Sandrarose.com, in 2008 she was… hustling in the world’s first profession.  But as Phaedra Parks would say:  “Every saint has a past and sinner has a future,” so no judgment!  She graduated college and was working on a memoir entitled “Love Me or Hate Me.”  She’s a mother now, and it seems she puts her daughter first instead of indulging in current bad girl shenanigans, so good deal.

Natalie Nunn ‘Brutally Beats’ BGC Castmate With Foreign Object

**Update: Oxygen issued the following statement about the incident: While filming last weekend for “Tanisha Gets Married” there was an explosive verbal argument between former “Bad Girls Club” cast members, Natalie Nunn and Flo. The two engaged in a heated exchange with each other while celebrating Tanisha’s bachelorette party in Atlantic City, NJ.  No punches were thrown.  There is a great deal of tension between these two women and this will play out on the air when TGM airs sometime next year.**

The year-long twitter beef between “Bad Girls Club” castmates Natalie Nunn and Florina “Flo” Kaja came to physical blows this weekend while the women were in Atlantic City attending BGC member Tanisha Thomas’s Bachelorette Party.

According to MediaTakeOut, Natalie and Flo got into a heated fight which resulted in Natalie “brutally beating” Flo and then cutting her face with a foreign object. An MTO insider claims that Flo was “leaking everywhere” following the fight, and had to be taken to the hospital on a stretcher.

This altercation is certainly not just a typical “Bad Girls Club” cat fight. Natalie could find herself in legal trouble for her effort to get revenge on Flo, who beat her up during the reunion for the season 4 series.  There’s no word yet, though, on whether police have been involved or the status of Flo’s condition. This is just sad. When will these girls grow up?
