No, this is not an advertisement for the latest curly pudding product on the market — though it very well could be.
While scoping out pics from Tia and Tamer’s Ebony magazine photo shoot on the twin sisters’ Instagram pages yesterday we came across this photo that was just too cute not to share. Tamera posted the family candid with the hilarious caption: “This is what happens when four people try to take a selfie. Aden doesn’t get it” but we’re not mad at the little cutie. If anything, we’re jealous of all these gorgeous, natural ringlets in one shot.
Though Tia chopped off her long locks a while ago, Tamera only made the big chop a few months ago and is still getting used to her new short look. The new ‘do is turning out to be a good look for her, though, based on another photo she posted online, and we have to say we agree.
Truth be told, the only thing better than one TWA is four, so caption this pic of the Mowry’s showing off their curly q’s and tell us what you think.
Tia And Tamera Cover Ebony; Tamera Speaks On Expectation To Marry A Black Man, But Ending Up With Adam
Tia Mowry-Hardrict and Tamera Mowry-Housley are the newest covergirls for the May 2014 issue of Ebony. Since May is the month of Mother’s Day, the twins, along with other bold and brave mothers, are celebrated. This also includes Sybrina Fulton and Lucia McBath, the mothers of Trayvon Martin and Jordan Davis. The ladies look amazing! In the interview, Tamera actually touches upon the interracial relationship criticism she has faced, and her thoughts as a young girl that she would marry a black man. Obviously, life had other ideas:
“Honestly, growing up, I [just] knew I was going to marry a Black man. But, as I grew up, I learned to just be open. I just wanted to be with someone who was confident around me and who I felt comfortable being myself with.”
And though we don’t have all the details on their interview as of yet, we’re hoping they’ll touch on their hopes for a Sister, Sister movie, which Tia recently said she would love to do:
“Omgosh, I would love to do Tia and Tamera go to Paris or to see where are they now,” the “Instant Mom” star gushed to OK! “Maybe one of them’s married one’s not, one of them’s extremely successful and the other one’s struggling and she has to help the one who’s struggling. One of them has a family, the other one doesn’t.”
We’d love to see that happen too! But until then, share your thoughts on their colorful cover below. The ladies also shared some exclusive shots from the shoot on their Instagram, and they’re giving us all types of fierce!
‘They Just Need To Get Over It:’ Tamera Mowry Strikes Back At People Who Have Issues With Her Interracial Marriage
In January actress Tamera Mowry-Housley appeared on an episode of “Oprah: Where Are They Now?” alongside her twin sister Tia Mowry-Hardict. In the interview, Tamera opened up about some of the harsh comments people have been sending her on social media sites like Instagram and Twitter regarding her interracial marriage to Fox News corespondent Adam Housley.
“It’s so weird,” she recently told Bethenny Frankel during a TV appearance. “I think maybe because social media is what it is right now. I have a Twitter account and people feel like they can just come to it and say whatever but I’ve learned to love my block button.”
Like her younger brother, Taj Mowry, Tamera also discussed social media users who attack her for having white friends.
“Please, they don’t even know me. They don’t know my friends. Honestly, who cares?”
In addition to ignoring rude commenters, Tamera says she combats the negativity by focusing on the positive.
“I’m just choosing to see the positive side of it. We have more people loving on us than hating on us and we are choosing to focus on that now.”
While she did find a way to cope with it all, “The Real” host admits that it doesn’t take away the sting of the hateful comments she receives.
“My mom is a beautiful black woman and my dad is a very handsome white man,” she explained. “I was actually hurt because my parents had experienced it way back in the day and I was hurt because we as a community have come so far and we fight against it all the time. I was hurt that people still felt that way but the opposite way, you see what I’m saying? So if anything, I was devastated, hurt, and like I said I’m just going to pray and look at the positive.”
Well, at least she’s not allowing it to get the best of her anymore.

During her appearance last week on Oprah’s “Where Are They Now?” series, actress Tamera Mowry-Housley shed quite a few tears over the hate being spewed at her due to her interracial marriage to Fox News correspondent Adam Housley.
“I’ve never experienced so much hate, ever, in my life,” the new mom told Oprah.
“White man’s whore,” she recalled the words of one vicious Internet commenter. “Back in the day, you cost $300, but now, you’re giving it away for free.”
The most hurtful comment, however, was one involving her twin sister, Tia Mowry-Hardict.
“They say, ‘Oh, Tia’s a true black woman because she married a black man,’” she recalled. “Oh – I’m less of a black person because I married white?”
Having grown up in an biracial family, she revealed that the harsh words were even more difficult to swallow.
“My mom is a beautiful black woman and my dad is an amazing white man, and I grew up seeing a family,” she said.
TV Newser recently caught up with Adam, who also opened up about the harsh criticism he’s been forced to endure due to people’s narrow views on race and relationships.
“The fact that in this day and age, we get attacked for our interracial relationship is beyond sad,” the Fox News Anchor complained. “It is pathetic. Yes I am white. Yes she is half black. Marrying a white man does not erase her color and marrying a woman who is half black does not mean I am blinded.”
Adam went on say that it’s disturbing that people don’t “know better” by now.
“The problem isn’t pigmentation,” said Adam.”The problem is backwards, bigoted thoughts from people who should know better.”
It’s terrible to think that interracial relationships are still such a huge problem for people in 2014.
Big choppers of the world have a new national member to add to their crew. Yesterday Tamera Mowry-Housley showed off her new ‘do on Instagram and it’s definitely a big switch. Posting the photo, Tamera wrote:
Love my big chop…love my curl doctor @shaiamiel You did it again
@shaiamiel is Shai Amiel, owner of Capella Salon in Studio City, CA, who literally goes by the name “Curl Doctor” and who showed off Tamera’s big chop on her own Instagram account.
Before the big reveal, Tamera hinted this move was coming when she sent out this tweet while at the salon, but no one knew such a drastic change was in the works.

We’ve gotten so used to seeing Tamera with long flowing locks so this look will definitely take a little time to get used to. We can’t wait to see how she styles it on “The Real.” What do you think about Tamera’s big chop?
They may be done with reality TV, but the Mowry twins seem to be nowhere near done with allowing the public into their private worlds. Both Tia and Tamera will be starring in an upcoming episode of “Oprah: Where Are They Now?” According to a preview recently released by OWN, the sisters will open up about “the shocking racism they have faced on the Internet.” It also looks like their adorable son’s Cree and Aden will also be making a couple of cameo’s on the show, which seems to bring out Tamera’s soft side.
“See, this is where I get emotional,” Tamera said in the preview, fighting back tears.
The ladies will also be discussing “the ups and downs of early stardom” and highlighting their new lives as entrepreneurs and moms.
“Identical twins Tia and Tamera Mowry have stuck together over the years—first on the television sitcom Sister, Sister and later on their reality show Tia & Tamera,” the episode’s description reads. “Now, they’ve branched out into business, marketing natural and healthy products for new mothers like themselves. Take a peek inside their company headquarters.”
The new episode will also feature actor Ralph Macchio from 80s movie “The Karate Kid,” Peter Scolari from “Bosom Buddies” and musician Kenny Scolari. Oh, and in case you’re wondering what they all have in common, according to OWN, “they were big stars early in their lives, yet all have had career dry spells that they’ve had to overcome.” The new episode of “Oprah: Where Are They Now?” is scheduled to air Friday, Jan. 10 at 8/7c.
Watch the preview on the next page. Will you be checking it out when it airs on Friday?
We told you in late November that Amber Rose had dropped most of her baby weight and was closer than ever to her goal weight. She showed off her curvaceous figure and encouraged new moms to lose weight at their own pace and do it the natural way. Now Tamera Mowry-Housley is showing off all her hard work and sharing how she was finally able to get back down to the size she was before baby Aden. Here’s what she had to say on Instagram:
Mommy did it!! Lost all my baby weight. Did it with hard work, proportion control, (hint; I even ate what I wanted at times) and with amazing trainers @michaelmyersfit and @msjeanettejenkins! No pills, no surgery, no starvation, just hard work. Thank you for pushing me even when I did not want to work out! But most importantly to love me where I was and every step along the way.
Acclaimed celebrity trainer Jeanette Jenkins also helped her twin Tia slim down after having baby Cree and she’s the one helping to keep Kelly Rowland’s abs right and tight. Black Celebrity Kids also says that Mowry-Housley asked for tips from Christina Milian, who said it took her nine months for her to get back to her teeny, tiny self.
Mowry-Housley went on to share a picture of her figure on Instagram, including her stomach, and her body was approved by baby Aden (busy munching down and NOT watching his figure *winks*). Kudos to her because she looks amazing! Definitely gives inspiration to those trying to get back to body before baby. It takes time, but it’s all worth it in the end!
‘We’re Very Different, But We’re Very Close:’ Tamera Mowry Gushes About Blossoming Friendship With Tamar Braxton
Last month we told you that daytime talk show The Real was officially picked up for nationwide syndication by FOX. Though the show doesn’t return until Fall ’14, co-host Tamera Mowry-Housley says she can’t wait to return and be reunited with her cohorts.
“I’m really excited [about The Real]. I mean, it’s a dream come true. If I would’ve told myself that I was going to have a talk show with four amazing ladies two years ago I would’ve been like, ‘What are you talking about?’ But um, I can’t wait! Lots of great clothes, lots of great makeup, lots of great chat!” the new mommy told WetPaint.
She went on to discuss how thankful she is that all of her co-stars get along.
“Honestly, we get along. I hope it stays that way, but for the most part, we do. The thing is, we’re all distinctively different. But the key is that we respect each other. We respect each other’s differences and we don’t judge. We don’t judge. If you have that view, that’s your view and congratulations because there’s tons of women out there like that, and vice versa.
Tamera also gushed about the close relationship she built with Tamar Braxton.
“One of my favorite girls on the panel is Tamar. We couldn’t be more different from each other. I can’t wait to just sit right beside her and say, ‘Hey girl! How you doin’?’ We’re very different, but we’re very close,” Tamera confessed.
How sweet! We totally dig their friendship.

My, how time flies! It feels like it was just yesterday when we excitedly reported that actress Tamera Mowry-Housley and her husband, Adam Housley, welcomed their first child, Aden John Tanner Housley. But, it wasn’t “just yesterday.” In fact, it was last year. Though it’s difficult to believe, baby Aden is already one! In celebration of her baby boy’s first birthday, Tamera penned a very touching letter, which she shared via her blog. The letter reads:
“I can’t believe it’s been a year, my sweet baby boy! My, you have grown so fast. The only regret I have is that it flew by. I have enjoyed every bit of this year – even the challenging days. You know that’s LOVE. Unconditionally. I treasure the times I can sniff your lil neck and steal kisses from my lil man. Oh and when your lil arm hugs me while napping. I just melt.
I have about 17 more years to do that until you are off to college somewhere and then I’ll have to BEG for those kisses. You have two uncles, so I can remember very well when they became to cool for school. Ha. You are my everything. Seriously can’t remember what life was like before momma had you. I’m sure it was great. But now I’m the happiest I have ever been.
Can’t wait to see what you’ll be when you grow up. and I’m so excited for the journey. I feel so blessed to have been chosen to be your momma. You are one cool dude. I hope I will always be that friend you can trust and count on. Mommy loves you. Happy first birthday baby boy! We’re going DISNEYLAND!! Woo-hooooo!!!
Tamera also discussed birthday plans with E! Online.
“I’m going to get him things that he needs. I love clothes, I love dressing him up. So definitely clothes. Anything with music…I don’t want to give him too much, because we’re not all about that. It’s definitely about Disneyland. That’s the main thing.”
Happy Birthday baby Aden!

Tamar has been involved in her share of disputes over the years. We’ve even watched her fight it out with her sisters and husband, Vincent Herbert. So news that Tamar is supposedly beefing with her co-stars from The Real wasn’t totally shocking. But during a recent interview with the Russ Parr Morning Show, the new mommy slammed the rumors, insisting that he co-stars are like her sisters.
“That’s hilarious, because you know, me and the girls got along really, really well. As a matter of fact, I found three fabulous, fabulous good friends out of it and I feel like they are apart of my life and they will be apart of my life forever—whether the show gets picked up or not. All that other nonsense, you just gotta take it in stride and pray for people and keep it moving,”
She adds that she is very professional when it comes to her work, so she’s unsure why these rumors continue to surface about her.
“I’m very professional. I’m on time. I’m really into my work. I’m really passionate about my work. All of these nonsense stories that surround me, is really not my life, really. I’m misunderstood a lot.”
The “All The Way Home” singer also addressed the controversy surrounding her “Hot Sugar” music video.
“I shot a video and that’s it. I haven’t seen or heard from him since then. [They didn't finish it] at all. I am ecstatic about the video, people have their won opinions about it but you know what I stand behind my work and if I didn’t believe in it I would have never put it out. If you don’t like it then don’t watch because some people do because cause it got over two million views in less than a week. That’s not losing.”
And if you were wondering whether or not her new baby boy, Logan, has been causing her to lose sleep, Tamar says not at all!
“I have a really good baby. At first he had a lot of issues, his acid reflux and we were really trying to figure out his milk situation. He was not happy. But now he sleeps all night long and he’s nothing like his mother. He’s not dramatic. He’s real laid back like Vince, real cool.”
