Kenya Moore Won’t Return To RHOA Unless Her Paycheck Is Gone With The Wind Fabulous
It’s looking a bit like deja vu on the set of the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” right now as “breakout star” Kenya Moore is once again caught up in a little drama over money. Basically she’s saying she’ll return for a sixth season of the show, but only if the money is right. I.e. you know she’s probably asking for a major raise since she was the most talked about cast member this season.
I’m actually not mad at Kenya for that, I’m just curious how much she’s asking for — you know mama thinks she’s the pioneer of all things black and fabulous. According to TMZ, the beauty pageant queen is “finalizing talks with Bravo to come back next season, but her paycheck has become a sticking point in contract negotiations.”
As expected, TMZ also says the issue will be settled very soon and her return is pretty much a done deal, which means the network is not trying to let that ticking time bomb of a cast member go and will probably pay her whatever her crazy heart desires to see her cause more mayhem another season.
Surprisingly, at least to me, Porsha Stewart is expected to come back too, but in a smaller role. If anything, I thought she either wouldn’t return in order to reconcile with Kordell, or she’d have an even bigger part in the case, being that her current marital troubles are the stuff reality TV perfection is made of. I thought for sure producers would be all over her divorce battle for the sake of ratings, but perhaps Porsha made the decision to scale back considering reality TV was likely a major culprit in the breakdown of her marriage. Whatever the reason, let’s hope things work out for the best for her.
BTW, are you glad Kenya’s coming back next season?
Not The Same Without Melanie & Derwin…Meet The Revamped Cast For Season 6 Of “The Game”

Something look drastically different?
It’s been a hot minute since season 5 of The Game came to a close in June of 2012, but since they finished filming, we all know there have been some big changes. For instance, Tia Mowry Hardrict announced via Twitter that she was parting from the show that helped relaunch her career, and while Pooch Hall said he was going to do the same, word on the street is that he’ll return for one episode of season 6, as his character will be traded from San Diego to Baltimore, ultimately disappearing off the face of the planet. So of course, that means no more Melanie or Derwin, and since they were the principal focus of the show it will be interesting to see how the storyline will progress without them. But there’s no stopping BET when they’ve got a hit, and there’s no stopping the talented Mara Brock Akil. That’s why the cast has received a makeover and the storyline will be changing–hopefully for the better. Check out the cast for season six and what their characters will be up to in San Diego this time around.
Guess Who’s Joining ‘The Game?’
When I saw Lauren London on “Single Ladies” Monday night I was thinking, I wonder why they didn’t have her replace Stacey Dash’s character since she’d already been on the show before, but maybe the reason is she already had a new gig in the works. According to TV Line, she will be joining the cast of “The Game” and taking the place of Tia Mowry, a.k.a. Melanie.
Lauren won’t take over Melanie’s part, she’ll be playing one half of the new couple we told you about that’s supposed to replace Melanie and Derwin as the center of the show. Her character Kiera is described as a 20-year-old former child star who has been in the spotlight since she was five years old and starred on a ‘Cosby’-like sitcom. The casting call listed her characteristics as bright and charming, but struggling to transition into a grown-up career and apparently Lauren fits the bill.
Her match, Bryce ‘The Blueprint’ Westbook, an Ivy League #1 draft pick who’s as good on the field as he is in the classroom, hasn’t been named yet, but I’m wondering how Pooch thinks he’ll handle becoming a secondary character if BET does actually allow him to come back like he wants to.
I guess it’s time to start thinking of actors who could play Lauren’s on-screen boo. Who comes to mind? Plus, what do you think about her joining the cast?

Melanie and Derwin 2.0? There’s a New Couple Coming To ‘The Game’
BET didn’t take long getting “The Game’s” storyline together post-Melanie and Derwin. According to Zap 2 it’s blog, there are two new cast members coming to town, and presumably taking over as the main characters for season 6. Here’s the deal according to their spoilers:
“With Tia Mowry leaving the show, producers are looking for a new female actress to join the cast in the regular role of Kiera, a 20-year-old former child star who has been in the spotlight since she was five years old and starring on a ‘Cosby’ style sitcom. According to the casting call, she’s bright and charming, but struggling into transitioning into a grown-up career.
“Kiera isn’t the only newbie in town! Another series regular will be hired to play Bryce ‘The Blueprint’ Westbook – a #1, Ivy League draft pick running back who breaks every ‘dumb athlete’ stereotype. He’s not only got a Heisman Trophy, but he’s usually the smartest guy in the room — which sets his new teammates on edge.”
I think we can assume from the descriptions these two may not get along so well with Tasha Mack and Malik. I’m not terribly excited about the character concepts but it is what it is. Since there’s nothing fans can do to resurrect Melanie and Derwin or demand better story lines, let’s have some fun with this:
What actors would you want to see fill the rolls of Kiera and Bryce?

Good News? Tia and Pooch Are Out, But Brandy’s Still In ‘The Game’
I don’t know if this news will do much to console “The Game” fans who are still struggling to accept the fact that Tia and Pooch/Melanie and Derwin aren’t returning to the the BET show, but we do know there will be at least one familiar face on the next season, Brandy’s.
During an interview with Kempire Radio, Brandy confirmed that she will be reprising her role of Chardonnay for Season 6, though she tried to be a little mysterious about the plot line, alluding to the fact that her character and Jason are currently broken up. Since the season finale airs tomorrow they’ll probably keep that cliff hanger going and pick up with that story line next season which may not really matter for fans who have already said they won’t even bother to watch the show again once it ends Tuesday.
From the few episodes of “The Game” that I saw, I sort of liked Jason and Chardonnay’s relationship, but it was just hard for me to get past Brandy’s character’s name and some of her mannerisms. But maybe they could end up being the main story line during season 6 and take over Melanie and Derwin’s spot. Yay? Nay?
Check out the snippet of Brandy’s interview below where she talks about how she feels about Tia and Pooch leaving the show and her excitement to come back. Are you glad Brandy is returning next season or does it matter?
