For a minute, we thought it was just a select few of us that were madly in love with Ryan Gosling.
Admit it, ladies, after his breakout role as Noah in the 2004 movie “The Notebook,” you thought you’d tapped into someone new, someone you could crush on all by yourself, without the competition of millions of other women vying for his heart.
But, very soon we realized we weren’t alone in this – the entire universe is smitten by this guy.
It was easy to fall in love with Ryan, too. Just watching how hard he loved Allie, the character played by then-girlfriend Rachel McAdams in “The Notebook,” made you wish Gosling would take YOU on a boat ride in the pouring rain and say the words, “It wasn’t over. It still isn’t over,” to you as he picked you up and kissed you ever so passionately. Eleven years after the movie premiered, that scene still makes our hearts go pitter-patter!
We can’t blame anyone – and everyone – for continuing to fall in love with Ryan, either. He isn’t only a looker, with his bright blue eyes, his staple devilish grin and his boyishly good looks, he is also a serious talent, a triple threat, even. He obviously acts and is darn good at it, but in recent years a video of a young Ryan hit the Internet which found him singing R&B song “Cry For You” alongside the likes of Justin Timberlake. Yes, the man can sing. And just last week, another clip hit the web of an even younger Ryan busting some serious moves as the only male dancer in a girl troop. Add to that those hilarious yet on-point “Hey Girl” memes that popped up online last year to keep things even more interesting.
Last September, Ryan became a father for the first time to daughter Esmeralda with girlfriend and fellow actress Eva Mendes, and although they’ve both been pretty hush about the entire thing, imagining him in his most important role he’ll ever play makes us want him even more. Oh, our obsession with Ryan is not a joke!
Ryan recently made his directorial debut on his latest film, “Lost River,” alongside his girlfriend, which will hit theaters on April 10th, so if you love him like we love him, go support. In the meantime, check out these scrumptious images of our favorite guy.
#ManCrushMonday: Ryan Gosling
Sometimes good facial hair can bring out a man’s eyes, his cheekbones, his jawline and, well, our, as women, most primitive desires for a scruffy, gruff looking man! Here are 15 famous men with the best facial hair.
It's another Monday, so you know what that means. It's #MCM. Which means our boy Kel Mitchell hit the streets of L.A. to ask ladies what they think of some of the leading men in entertainment.
In this week's edition we collected votes on men like actors Omar Epps and Michael Ealy, basketball player Serge Ibaka, rapper Wiz Khalifa and more.
See what the ladies in this video had to say about these men, whether they thought they were hot or a hot mess. And then be sure to hit up the comment section to let us know what you think about the men from this week.
Taye Diggs looks older and more mature with facial hair. When he shaves it all off he looks like a little boy waiting for puberty to start.
Even celebrities want to quit their day job every now and again. These 15 stars have threatened to walk away from it all, but truth be told, we don’t think they’re going anywhere.
R&B singer Chris Brown knows his fans and the media hang on to every move, word and tweet, so when the “Don’t Judge Me” singer took to his twitter page recently, he must’ve known it’d start a fire storm. Hinting at retiring from music, Brown tweeted that his upcoming “X” album will probably be his last. He later said, “Being famous is amazing when it’s for ur music and talent. I’m tired of being famous for a mistake I made when I was 18. I’m cool & over it!” Brown has faced a backlash ever since he brutally attacked his then girlfriend Rihanna in February 2009.

Kristen Stewart Pulls Out Of Movie When Will Smith’s Cast As Love Interest; Thinks He’s A Bit Too Old
I smell a racist…
Kidding! I kid, I kid. That baby isn’t a racist. But seriously, when you think of on-screen chemistry, you probably wouldn’t think that Kristen Stewart and Will Smith could create the spark necessary to carry a movie together. And that seems to be what popped in Stewart’s head recently when she decided to pull out of the new movie Focus starring Will Smith, not because of scheduling conflicts, but because her would-be co-star is too old for her to make love work on-screen. Here’s the skinny:
“Focus is a two-hander about a con man who becomes romantically involved with a novice. He is then thrown off his game when the former flame shows up just as he’s staging an elaborate con in Buenos Aires.”
The movie was originally set to star Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone. However, when both actors had to pull out of the project because of other commitments, they were replaced with Academy Award-winner Ben Affleck and Twilight star Kristen Stewart. At one point, Stewart was pretty geeked up about the movie, telling the HuffPo “It’s a comedy. I’m really excited about it.”
Well, she was excited about it until Affleck had to dip out of the movie as well to star in a different picture last December. When the role was finally given to Will Smith, who signed on early this year, it was reported by the Hollywood Reporter in April that she had decided to part ways from the movie. Why? According to Variety, she felt “the age difference between [her and Smith] would be too large a gap.” To clarify, Stewart is 23 while Smith is 44. When Affleck was attached to the movie, she was excited, even though the age difference between them was still substantial–he’s 40.
All of this is interesting considering that just a year ago, Stewart was receiving all kinds of hell from folks for cheating on Robert Pattinson, 27, with her married Snow White and the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders, who is 42. Age ain’t nothin’ but a number Kristen! Especially for her. But honestly, all I want to know is how can you call yourself an actor or actress and pass on a movie because you can’t feign attraction? But then again, the only emotion Stewart is a pro at showing is straight melancholy. Oh well…
Two years ago we made a short list of white people black people love — shout out to the best man on that list, Abraham Lincoln — but now it’s time for an update. We know the world is multi-cultural now and everything isn’t seen in black and white anymore, but you can’t deny that there are some lily white Caucasians that black folks have taken and adopted as our own. Whether it’s a singer who sounds soulful or a designer making bags we can’t live without, we absolutely adore the white people on this list.
Oh and part 2 to come tomorrow!
Guess Which Celeb Gabourey Sidibe Would Sleep With (And Make Sure She’d Wrap It Up Because He’s Fertile!)
Gabourey Sidibe is officially the dirty 30 (as of May 6) and Wendy Williams invited the actress to plenty of dirty talk during her appearance on her talk show today.
Wendy put the upcoming co-star of “American Horror Story” in her hot seat and didn’t waste any time getting turning up the heat with four degrees of questions. By the time Wendy got to the 40 degree mark, she hit Gabourey with this interesting quest into her thoughts on her former male co-stars: “Out of all of your former co-stars — Eddie Murphy, Ben Stiller, Lenny Kravitz — who would you marry, who would you sleep with, and who would you run over with your car?” Here’s what Gabby said:
“I would marry Lenny Kravitz because I feel like he’s a good strong Christian man – with his own island. I’d probably sleep with Eddie Murphy, but I’d wrap it up because he’s fertile. And I guess I’d hit Colin Ferrell with my car—nothing personal but I don’t know him like that.”
Poor Colin Ferrell, he wasn’t even supposed to be in the discussion. But more importantly, Eddie Murphy?? To be fair, it’s not like Gabby had the best choices to begin with, but I think I would’ve had to choose Lenny Kravitz twice, or switch my answers around. I’m pretty sure Eddie could buy his own island if he wanted to too. But, shout out to Gabby for the safe sex plug. Always gotta wrap it up.
Something you ladies might be able to relate with more is the answer Gabourey gave for her 100 degree question of who she would have a one-night stand with. The answer? Ryan Gosling. Good luck with that, she might have to fight off a few hundred thousand people to get to that one, including Eva Mendes.
Check out Gabby’s full appearance on Wendy below. What do you think about her hot seat answers?

As you all know, People magazine released its S*xiest Man Alive issue yesterday with Channing Tatum as its man of honor. We are certainly not mad at that. Tatum is fine as all heck, and he certainly embodies a pleasant masculinity and swagger that Black women like ourselves can certainly appreciate.
Having said that, it was surprising to see that our ultimate white boy crush Ryan Gosling missing from the top spot. But it didn’t take long to realize why. The reason why I crush on Gosling is the reason that he’s not People’s golden boy: he’s way too manly for that. As a friend who works at People told me, Gosling won’t go along with the photo-shoot and interview involved with being adorned as the cover boy. This tidbit of info just raised his stock in my mind. As someone who appreciates manly men, I’ve always known that I can’t be too into men in the entertainment industry. Just imagining a male actor or rapper posing for these long photo shoots for a magazine spread kind of turns me off. There’s something about a man craving the limelight and attention in that way that undermines my attraction. A manly man is someone who does his job without any concern for attention. I know that Gosling does engage in publicity events for his films but there’s something to be said about him turning down on offer to take on such a pretentious cover and proclaim “I’m the s*xiest man alive.” And for that, I thank him for keeping it all the way swexy. Ryan, you will always be my #1 white boy crush. Keep brooding my brother.
