Reality television has turned dating into a truly trashy affair. Singles who are “looking for love” on these programs are often just looking to ignite their 15 minutes of fame, feigning vulnerability and faking romancejust for some camera time; it’s enough to make you want to turn off the TV for good.
But wait — don’t grab the remote just yet.
On August 19, the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) will debut LoveTown, USA, a program documenting a 30-day social experiment on love in one small Georgia community.

They call it the starter marriage. And in Hollywood, many relationships start and stop in the blink of an eye. “There’s a lack of maturity, and they’re fantasizing that marriage is a fairy tale,” says Lois Liberman, a New York celebrity divorce lawyer. Enter most recent divorcee Kim Kardashian and no ex-husband NBA basketball star, Kris Humphries.

After just 72 days of wedding un-bliss, Kim is reportedly filing for divorce under “irreconcilable differences.” A tweet from the starlette said it all the morning of October 31,“Yes @kimkardashian is filing for divorce this morning” and was confirmed with a formal statement later in the day: “After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage. I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don’t work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best.” Kim complained that due to the NBA lockout, Humphries has been partying it up and using Kim’s funds to do it! Kim, the notorious workaholic, has been working non-stop since there lavish nuptials held in Montecito August 20, and grew tired of her party boy husband.
Russell Simmons on Fashion and How Hip-Hop Has Grown Up
(Chicago Now) — Media mogul and fashion designer Russell Simmons premiered his new clothing line Argyleculture at the Macy’s River Oaks Center, Thursday evening (Oct. 28th). The new line which has a more grown-up flare compared to his previous line was designed for the person who grew up with the hip-hop culture but has matured and desires a refined feel to there individual style. Simmons sat down with me to discuss his new line and reality show “Running Russell Simmons” on the Oxygen network.
