It’s time to give credit where credit is due because Love & Hip-Hop‘s Rasheeda is looking amazing after giving birth to a baby boy last year.
The reality star took to her Instagram account Friday to show off her #BounceBack progress with the photo above, writing:
Soooooo #babykarter is now 7 months old & I’m still working on my #bounceback the 1st pick is how I look today!! I still have several lbs to drop…. I’m about 200lbs in the middle picture (Whewwww Chile). The b4 pic was me b4 gettin preggos I was so in shape & small. I think ima keep a lil thickness tho but for now I wanted to show you guys my results so far. A decent diet nothing to crazy, exercise & a few stomach detox wraps is what I’ve been doing ohh & lots of water!! #grindlife#teamgetfit #thebouncebackisreal #workoutflow#teamstaymotivated
I don’t know about you, but I’m motivated and I didn’t even have a baby! The best thing about Rasheeda’s pic is that her progress is realistic. These days women, particularly famous women, are expected to snap back within a months, sometimes even weeks, of giving birth. To go from 200 pounds to the size she is today is an amazing feat for Rasheeda and I’m willing to be she’ll maintain her get it right get it tight figure quite well from here on out. What do you think? Check out another pic of Rasheeda in workout mode on the next page.
Before all hell broke loose at the opening of Stevie J and Benzino’s restaurant, “Sleazy & Zino Bistro & Bar,” The Jasmine Brand got a chance to speak with Kirk Frost about a couple of things, mostly focusing on his indiscretions last season and the way he embarrassed himself and his family stepping out on Rasheeda. While there are plenty of people who find Kirk vile, as one of three married couples, and the least dysfunctional, in the whole “Love and Hip Hop” franchise, there are folks who want them to work it out. And it seems that that’s what he and Rasheeda are attempting to do. See what he had to say.
Jasmine Brand: What was the lesson you learned from your situation on the last season of “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta”?
Kirk Frost: The lesson I learned was don’t try to prove a point to your wife and do dumb sh*t.
JB: Will we be witnessing that same type of drama this time around?
KF: Nah man. I’m trying to get on the right page. I want to get to a point where I can have Rasheeda back as a business partner, as a friend, as a wife, as a husband to her, and being a good guy and being a good father. I mean…I’m not perfect but I’m just hoping that she can get past it.
You can check out the rest of his interview over at The Jasmine Brand.
And in other Kirk and Rasheeda news, from the looks of both of their Instagram pages, the couple will appear on the cover of the March issue of Sister 2 Sister Magazine. Look at that playful side eye she’s giving him! She jokes but it’s clear these two are staying together, if they ever broke up in the first place.
Hip-hop is still a young artform, which means there is still a long way to go when it comes to giving respect where it is due. The women of hip-hop on the mic, in the studio, writing bars and battle rapping often don’t get the respect and recognition they deserve, so we decided to spotlight 15 women who’ve contributed to hip-hop in big ways.
Yo-Yo did her thing in the ’90s when she was featured on Ice Cube’s AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted album for “It’s a Man’s World.” Her debut album Make Way for the Motherlode in 1990 gained popularity with the single “You Can’t Play with My Yo-Yo.” Although she didn’t receive mainstream success she continued to release albums that were authentic and true hip-hop. In 1992 she released her second album, Black Pearl that had a positive message which clashed with the current sound of gangsta rap. She went on to release three other albums and her single “Can’t Play With My Yo-Yo” was ranked number 92 on VH1′s 100 Greatest Hip-Hop Songs.
“He’s great, he’s absolutely great! He’s just a handsome little angel. Of course you know the first month – we haven’t reached our first month yet – but yeah, it’s rough. It’s every 3 hours. Doesn’t matter the time. Twelve midnight, three in the morning, six, nine, twelve, it’s no joke.”On Kirk’s daddy skills:
“He’s actually just amazing to be honest with you. He’s just been a great father, he’s been, you know, allowing me to get my rest as much as possible, and regardless to the fact that you can’t get past the crying that you hear from the baby, but he’s been really, really great. You know he’s always been a good father regardless of how it looked on television as far as the things he said about ‘I’m tired of raising kids,’ and whatnot, you know. He has four adult children, you know. Over 18 [years old] kids that he was more so speaking about, but as far as him in Karter’s life, he’s just been 100% just doing his damn thing.”
“I mean you just take it one day at a time, and the main thing is just being parents number one, and then just continuing to grow our friendship, and to try to get back in a place. But you just don’t rush things, you just take one day at a time and just keep it moving.”On Mona Scott-Young expanding Love & Hip Hop to other cities:
“I heard all of that, and I’m like, ‘okay, I see they looking to maybe milk the cow,’ and hopefully they making the right decision on that. All I know is Love & Hip-Hop: Atlantais Atlanta, and I don’t know about the rest of them places, but we got that thing on lock over here. That’s all I can say.”On rumored changes being made to the LHHATL cast:
“Well you can’t even believe everything that you hear, but you never really know. I will tell you it’s going to be some changes, but you know, you’ll just have to see what the real deal is because every time I turn around, there’s somebody that they’re claiming is going to be on here, somebody that quote, allegedly done got ‘the boot’, you know. And don’t nobody know what the hell they be talking about until them credits roll, ‘This is the Life’ start playing, and the show airs. Other than that, just be ready to see what goes on for [season] 3 because you never know.”
Nevermind the daddy in this pic is plum crazy. Let’s just focus on the adorableness that is Kirk and Karter.
On Instagram, “Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta” star Rasheeda just uploaded one of the first pics of her new bundle of joy with her husband, Kirk and we have to admit it is simply precious. Rasheeda captioned the pic saying, “#babykarter having playtime w/ his daddy @frost117❤❤ #babylove.” Kirk also reposted it, appearing to be the loving father most of us were skeptical he’d be. You know, after encouraging his wife to get an abortion and everything.
Although we still haven’t seen little man’s face yet, Rasheeda posted another pic of the 3-week-old’s miniature hand. The new momma said, “He’s been holding my finger for hours! #babykarter#babylove” and it’s probably one of the sweetest photos to ever come from a LHHATL cast member ever.
We love the way Kirk is looking into his son’s eyes in that pic above, but we can’t help but wonder what’s possibly racing through his mind. Caption the photo and tell us what you think.
“Yes. I was there from the very beginning. Rasheeda woke up one morning and said, “Oh, it’s time.” She just knew. She was cramping, etc. and she said, “it’s time to go.” I wasn’t nervous. It’s just that the baby came ahead of the due date, September 6, so we weren’t totally ready. We still had to put the bed together, etc. and get organized, but now, I’m excited.”
“A lot of people try to hide things and we chose not to do it. We were 100 percent real with it and let it be what it is. I think that people have to see me as a husband and a manager and a lot of them only see the relationship side. I did say the things and they were outrageous but at the end of the day it’s in God’s hands and He knows what’s best.”Rasheeda on working through their marital issues:
“It’s an everyday thing. It’s a work in progress. When the child comes into play, it’s a feeling you can’t explain. Although a lot of things had been shown and seen, I already knew that when it comes to be a father, this would be a role that he’s always known to play. Things were put into perspective on television that he was not a good father but he’s a great father and my older son Kai is extremely happy to have this little brother. It’s a good time for us and I don’t want anything to get on my nerves.”It’s great to see that the two are attempting to mend the broken fences in their marriage. The road to reconciliation can sometimes be a lengthy one, but at least they’re willing to give it a shot. Follow Jazmine on Twitter @jazminedenise.
Last week we reported Rasheeda and Kirk from “Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta” welcomed their baby boy Karter into their family. We’re not sure what the couple’s relationship status is after the tumultuous last season of the reality show, but by the looks of their photos they seem to handling co-parenting well.
Check out pics of them leaving the hospital with Karter!
During this past season of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, we witnessed the drama surrounding reality star Rasheeda’s unexpected pregnancy. It’s been a long road filled with infidelity, requested paternity tests and talk of divorce. But, it appears that she and her hubby have embarked on the path to reconciliation as they prepare for the upcoming birth of their son Karter. This past weekend they celebrated their new bundle with a beautiful blue-themed baby shower, which was attended by fellow reality stars such as Phaedra Parks, Kandi Burrus, Erica Dixon and Toya Wright.

And that’s all folks! Last night marked the season finale of Love and Hip Hop Atlanta, and boy did it go out with an embarrassing bang. Relationships ended for good, questions of engagement were answered, a cast member decided to leave Atlanta and by the end of it all, another was blocking punches. If you watched, you know the foolery I’m talking about. But if you didn’t, feel free to get filled in about what you missed. We have a feeling the reunion is going to be good!
