Lawyer From Ohio Rape Case Plans For Appeal
From TMZ
Ma’Lik Richmond – one of the high school football players convicted of rape in Steubenville, Ohio — shouldn’t be forced to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life because he’s only 16 … and therefor doesn’t have a fully developed brain … this according to Richmond’s lawyer.
Walter Madison went on “Piers Morgan” last night and told the CNN host why he plans to appeal the case — in which Richmond was sentenced to at least one year in juvenile prison for raping a 16-year-old girl with his fingers at a high school party.

Piers Morgan Learned The Hard Way: Don’t Eff With Rihanna And Her Hair
Ahhh the tongue-lashing Rihanna is back. If you follow Rihanna on Twitter or Instagram you’d know the singer is trying to find internal peace and curb her angry outbursts from the Bible verses she’s begun sharing every day, but it seems Piers Morgan was able to bring the devil all the way up out of her in a bad way the other night.
For some reason, the CNN host thought that it was a good idea to take to Twitter and express his dislike for Rihanna’s new ‘do and actually mention her after her performance with Coldplay this weekend. Bad move.
Here’s what he said after raving about the show:
PS I think @Rihanna needs to grow her hair back. Fast.
Wait for it:
@piersmorgan grow a d**k….. FAST!!!!
Am I the only one who missed that Rih Rih?
Oddly, the two quickly reconciled and Piers even asked Rihanna to appear on his CNN chat show. She obliged which made him respond:
Going to be one hell of an interview now @rihanna – bring your A-game, lady.
I suggest they don’t conduct that little chat live or someone better have the bleep machine ready. Piers just might get cussed out on national TV on his own show messing with Rihanna.

Too Soon? SNL Spoofs Trayvon Martin Coverage
I know. It made me cringe too. The idea of spoofing anything so serious never seems like a good idea and considering we’re talking about a case where we’re just barely starting to make steps in the direction of justice, most people are thinking this spoof is way too soon or shouldn’t have happened at all.
Of course that never stops comedians, and this weekend “Saturday Night Live” used the Trayvon Martin case as the basis of one of their skits. While the jokes were really on Piers Morgan, Kim Kardashian, and Kanye West, and definitely roused some laughs, the teenager’s tragic death as the backdrop just seemed a tad off.
Check out the skit and tell us what you think, fair play or too insensitive?

Chaka Khan Says Whitney Would Not Have Wanted Clive Davis’ Party to Go On
Last night Chaka Khan appeared on CNN to talk about the passing of Whitney Houston and she told Piers Morgan what many people had been dying to say about the Clive Davis party that went on in the same hotel where Whitney’s body lay upstairs: it shouldn’t have happened.
“I thought that was complete insanity,” Chaka Khan said. “Knowing Whitney, I don’t believe that she would have said ‘the show must go on.’”
Chaka Khan also questioned Clive’s motives for continuing on with the party, saying:
“I don’t know what could motivate a person to have a party in a building where the person whose life he had influenced so enormously and who’s life had been affected by hers…I don’t understand how that party went on.”
Piers Morgan tried to say Clive turned the party into a tribute, but Chaka Khan, who didn’t attend, said a true tribute would have been gathering people together for a prayer, possibly sharing a meal, and then going home, not carrying on as nothing happened.
In another clip, Chaka Khan also talked about her own drug past and said it was a mistake for Whitney to come into town for an entire week before the Grammy’s, knowing her history of substance abuse.
“Whoever flew her out to perform at that party should have provided someone to be there to somehow keep the riff raff out of the situation and some of the dangerous people away.”
Check out the clips of the interview below. Do you think Chaka Khan is right?

Love Isn’t Enough But it’s a Start…

Ugh! Divorce is no joke. This we already knew, but watching it play out as publicly, and sometimes painfully, for celebrities solidifies this fact for those of us who’ve never experienced this trauma first hand.
Enter Seal and Heidi Klum.
I, like most people, felt that the two were making it work when the intention to divorce came to the forefront. But unlike most people, I can’t say that I was a big Seal and Heidi Klum fan. Not that I wanted their relationship to fail, they just didn’t leave a huge impact on me. The news of their split didn’t break my heart… until I saw Seal’s interview with Piers Morgan.
If you missed it, check the video below:
Dang! Was I the only one struck by his comments?
Either Seal needs to take his talents to the silver screen or he and Heidi need to reconsider some things. Of course we don’t know what’s going on behind closed doors, but this humble and unglamorous description of he and Heidi’s relationship, at least sounds like a potential foundation for reconciliation.
Even in their public statement about their split, the couple stated that they are still very much in love with one another. We know love isn’t enough, but it is at least a start, right?
What do you think about Seal’s comments? Are you holding out for a make-up?

Mary J. Blige on Piers Morgan: “I Was Going to Die”

You’ve got to respect Mary J. for being so real and honest about the obstacles she’s overcome, from her drug use to abusive relationships, Mary always seems to come out on top. In her recent interview with Piers Morgan she talked about how her husband helped her address her alcohol addiction.

50 Cent on His Father, His Son and His Charitable Efforts
These days 50 Cent is known more for his business ventures than he is for his lyrics. The rapper turned business mogul sat recently to talk with Piers Morgan about everything from his experience getting shot and how his son dealt with the trauma to feeding hungry people across the world.
Check out a few quotes from the interview and watch the whole thing in the video below.
On his son:
Piers Morgan: What do you say to him [your son] about your life before he came along?
50 Cent: He was there when I was actually shot in the house. He was there he heard it.
It affected him in a different way and that made me even angrier. Because after the process when I healed he still had issues. He’s like he’s sleep but he’s crying at the same time. And I have to shake him until he actually wakes up.
On his Father
Your father had disappeared.
I’ve never seen my father in my life.
Do you have any desire to?
Not now. I believe he could have helped me not make the mistakes I made earlier on. By just being there to provide basic guidance. I feel like my son now is a better version than me.
Has he ever tried to contact you, now that you’re famous?
No. No and I’m grateful for that.
Are you curious about what kind of man he is?
Wasn’t a whole lot of positive things in the environment. So I’m not sure who my mom could have interacted with that would have been more influential in a positive way for me at that point.
On his charitable efforts with the United Nations
You’re working with the United Nations. You even met the archbishop Desmond Tutu. You created these energy drinks. Tell me how this directly helps people?
The actual model is like the “Toms” shoe model where it’s one for one. Every bottle of this actual energy drink that’s sold, a meal is being provided through the world food program.
That seems to me the sensible way to get rich, powerful people to make a difference.
And I also think that when you have the opportunity to do a project like Street King and it comes form the right place because you’ve actually seen it. Like I grew up in low income housing here in America and then I experienced something in Africa that is far more extreme than that.
Good stuff. This certainly makes me respect the man a little bit more. Check out the interview for the full context when you get a chance.

Beyoncé Talks Love and Babies on Piers Morgan
Beyoncé sat down with CNN’s Piers Morgan on the eve of her album release for an hour-long interview. The pair talked about quite a few things including race and what singing at President Obama’s inauguration ball meant to her. Piers, never one to shy away from the tough questions, asked Beyoncé when she and husband, Jay-Z, planned on having children. See what she had to say in the video below.
Have an hour to kill? You can watch the entire interview here:
Wanda Sykes: Being Gay Is Harder than Being Black
Comedienne Wanda Sykes sat down with Piers Morgan to talk about her career. And as it often does since she came out, the conversation turned to her sexuality.
Wanda told Morgan that it’s harder for her to be gay than it is to be black. She referenced the fact that there are organizations who are spending millions and millions of dollars to prevent her from performing in certain arenas, not because she’s black but because she’s a lesbian.
You can read Sykes’ full quote and vote on this issue over at AOL’s Black Voices. But before you head over there, let us know what you think about this topic.

Ouch! Piers Morgan Asks Ms. Rice Why She’s Still Single
Piers Morgan sat down with former Secretary of State, Condoleeza Rice, and things got pretty personal. Among other things Piers asked Madame Rice how she managed “to avoid being snared.” Although he twisted the phrasing a little bit, (what woman doesn’t want to “snared?”), the question still pounced on a touchy subject.
Here we have yet another example supporting this false notion that successful women don’t marry and successful, black women are destined to die alone in a house overrun with cats.
Check out Condoleeza’s response in the video below:
You can read the full analysis of the situation over at Black Voices.
Should Piers have asked this question?
