Check It Out: And Just Like That, “Baggage Claim” Now Has A Trailer (And It’s Actually Very Funny)
Just yesterday we were showing you the first poster for the David E. Talbert film, Baggage Claim (above), and just a day later, a trailer has finally been released. The movie is set to come out on September 27, and no lie, I’m thinking I might go check it out. The trailer had your girl giggling.
As we told you, the plot centers around a 30-something flight attendant named Montana (Paula Patton), who finds herself as the last woman in her family to not be married. Anxious to turn that around with the pressure of her sister’s upcoming nuptials, with the help of her flight attendant friends (Jill Scott and even The OC‘s Adam Brody), she embarks on a 30-day journey back to a few of her exes (and some new interested suitors) to get one of them to put a ring on it.
I know the storyline might be eye roll worthy, but the trailer actually had me laughing–seriously, it did. Some of her new and past boos in the film include Trey Songz (whose crazy girlfriend is Tia Mowry), Boris Kodjoe, Derek Luke, Taye Diggs and Djimon Honsou. And I know you know who her mother is in the movie…Jenifer Lewis of course. Anywho, the romantic comedy is actually based on Talbert’s first novel of the same name, which was a best-seller. So can he have the same success at the box office? If you support him! Check out the trailer and let us know if you’re feeling it.
Check Out The First Poster For David E. Talbert’s “Baggage Claim” Starring Paula Patton And Every Other Living Black Actor

I love Paula Patton, but if folks don’t stop putting her in these same bubbly-single-gal-doing-the-most-to-meet-and-marry-a-man movies, I’m going to have to start a Change.org petition.
Anywho, Patton is the star of the new David E. Talbert film Baggage Claim, which features a number of established and up-and-coming black actors and actresses. Shall we go down the list? Well, there’s Boris Kodjoe, Djimon Honsou, Taye Diggs, Christina Milian, Derek Luke, Tia Mowry, Terrence J (from a very similar popular film, Think Like A Man), Jenifer Lewis, Lauren London, La La Anthony, Jill Scott, Trey Songz, and even comedian Affion Crockett. Of course, Talbert is known for his stage plays, and the plot for this one reads very much like one you’ve probably seen on a Sunday afternoon on BET. Here’s the synopsis from Shadow and Act:
“Pledging to keep herself from being the oldest and the only woman in her entire family never to wed, Montana embarks on a thirty-day, thirty-thousand-mile expedition to charm a potential suitor into becoming her fiancé. Whom will she choose? Damon Diesel, a P. Diddy wannabe; Reverend Curtis P. Merewether, pastor of Greater House of Deliverance, Tabernacle of Praise, Worship, and Miracles; pompous attorney-turned-councilman Langston Jefferson Battle III; or Quinton Jamison, a multimillionaire who’s twenty years her senior?”
This will be Talbert’s second major motion picture, as his first was the successful First Sunday, which starred Ice Cube, Tracy Morgan and Katt Williams. After reading the plot, I can’t say that my mind is blown, but if Think Like A Man could have me laughing like a fool in the theaters, I won’t count this one out so fast (I’m guessing Affion Crockett is supposed to be the Kevin Hart of this movie…). If you’re interested, Baggage Claim will be released this fall, on September 27.
What do you think? So far, does the plot and the faces in the film make you think it will be one to watch?
Ain’t Nobody Got Time For That! Robin Thicke Dishes On Why He Really Left ‘Real Husbands Of Hollywood’
When it was first announced that Robin Thicke wouldn’t be returning to BET’s hit comedy series Real Husbands of Hollywood, all kinds of rumors began to circulate. Some said that Robin pulled a no-show when it was time to begin filming. Others said that Robin and Kevin exchanged words, resulting in Robin storming off of the set and never looking back. Kevin Hart squashed rumors of alleged beef between he and Robin in an interview last month and now Robin is doing the same. The “Blurred Lines” singer paid a visit to Power 105.1′s The Breakfast Club and chatted it up with the gang about a host of topics including the real reason he left the show, what it means to be a Black woman and constantly being compared to Justin Timberlake. Peep what he had to say below.
On why he be won’t returning to Real Husbands of Hollywood next season:
“The thing was, I was gonna do the new season and then this song started taking off. I didn’t have the time to do the new season. I had to get this album. It was fun just to do it like once. Then you start to repeat story lines, repeating jokes.”
On if he ever finds Kevin Hart’s jokes about Paula Patton upsetting:
“No. You know, that’s comedy. Kevin [Hart] and I actually met at Chris Paul’s wedding only about a year ago. When we met, I started doing my impersonation of Kevin for Kevin. I know his whole standup. We hit it off right away. We went to dinner and we laughed for hours like we were best friends from high school. That’s why the show was fun and so easy to do. Him and I have similar tastes in comedy”
On being compared to Justin Timberlake:
“He always made R&B pop music. The great thing about it, there’s plenty room of everybody when you’re making good music….We’re both white. We have some of the same inspiration. We both have actresses for wives.”
On using arguments he has with Paula in his music:
“One time she told me ‘You don’t know what it’s like to be Black and you don’t know what it’s like to be a woman.’ I was like, ‘I don’t know how to argue with that.’ So I wrote a song ‘I Don’t Know How it Feels to be You’ because I don’t know. As much as I try to understand and as much as I try to put myself in your shoes, I’ll never know what it’s like to be Black in America and I’ll never know what it’s like to be a woman.”

Kevin Hart Is ‘Frost Without You’ In Hilarious Music Video Parody
Ya’ll know Kevin Hart has a thing for Paula Patton and he’s finally decided to put it in a song — to the tune of her husband, Robin Thicke’s own track, “Lost Without You,” of course — except Kevin Hart’s version has a bit of a twist. He’s “Frost Without You.”
Last night on the “Real Househusbands of Hollywood,” the comedian debuted what he considers to be his new “hit” single. We can’t vouch for those vocals, but the lyrics….hilarious! And the video is even funnier! Check it out here and tell us what you think.

Lauren London Added To The Cast Of “Baggage Claim” Along With Every Other Black Actor In Hollywood
If ensemble casts are your thing, you should definitely be checking for the upcoming flick “Baggage Claim.” A few months back we told you how Paula Patton snagged the lead role, which was originally thought to be going to Taraji P. Henson, in the film about a 35-year-old flight attendant who is the oldest person in her family to not be married and who is insanely jealous of her little sister’s recent engagement. Well now we know who will be playing the part of the little sister, none other than Miss “New New” herself, Lauren London.
In an interview with The Life Files, Lauren talked about her new role in the Fox film which is slated to hit theaters next spring, saying:
“Paula is great, we were destined to play sisters… Its our dynamic. Between shooting Baggage Claim and prepping for The Game, everything is moving at the speed of life… Its a good time, I’m excited to share these new characters with the world.”
Lauren and Paula are just the tip of the celebrity iceberg when it comes to the names attached to this flick. Taye Diggs, Derek Luke, Adam Brody, Jill Scott, and Octavia Spencer are all said to be a part of the cast along with aspiring actress Lala Anthony who will play Paula’s energetic coworker and accomplice. Lauren’s old boo-thang Trey Songz has a part in the film too as a “hot shot record producer with plenty of ‘swag.’” Interesting…
“Baggage Claim” is based on a novel of the same name by David E. Talbert who is also writing, directing, and producing this film adaptation. Let’s hope the acting comes through. What do you think about this cast so far?
Style To Steal Or Girl, Stop: June Ambrose, Solange Knowles & More Do It Big For NY Fashion Week
For the fierce and fashionable, it’s that time of the week again to tear apart or applaud some of the most eclectic style choices of the week. Yes, it’s Style to Steal or Girl, Stop time! Being that this was the last week of New York Fashion Week, we collected some interesting looks that we thought you’d want to see, get inspiration from, or stay far, far away from. Let’s get it started!

Solange Knowles was caught walking the streets of NYC trying to get to the Mercedes-Benz fashion week shows. For them, she was clearly trying to mix it up with her prints and have all eyes on her. We’re seeing dots, houndstooth, and leopard print. She paired a short sleeve top (with a pocket) with a high houndstooth skirt, and accessorized with leopard heels, a mustard yellow bag, a bright red lip and blown out strands. While I’m sure we’ll probably disagree, I’m actually a fan of the collection of prints that come together with her outfit. However, the hair is a no for me. I’m all for pressing out fros, but not like this. Yes on the ensemble though. What about you?

This has been a big week for fashion thanks to all the events going on for Hollywood’s A-listers. And some of our favorites didn’t disappoint as they had jaws dropping and flashbulbs on fire as they hit the scene. Now was it a good jaw drop or a bad one? Let’s look through the following photographs and find out.

This woman is 46 years old? WOW! The stunning singer hit up the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala at Cap d’Antibes in this flowing Emilio Pucci gown. The halter dress also had a deep v-neck which definitely showcased Jackson’s girls, and a slit that went up her lower thigh to show off those gams. The train was long, as were her locks, and on her feet were futuristic Giuseppe Zanotti wedges that didn’t have a heel. While I’m not feeling her makeup, otherwise, Ms. Jackson looks pretty freaking awesome. Steal! Just let me get in the gym real quick first…
