It’s been the subject of debate for years: Are paparazzi too aggressive in their pursuit of celebrity photos? Do these celebrities have a right to privacy that’s infringed upon by such relentless hounding? We’ve all got our opinion, but after Princess Diana and many other unfortunate incidents, it does seem that celebrity photo journalism has been taken a bit too far  and these 15 famous folks would certainly agree. They’ve made their thoughts known by taking matters into their own hands – and beating photogs down with them.

Kanye West has had it out with the paps for years: In 2008, he and his manager were arrested for smashing a photog’s camera. In 2012, he attempted to grab the camera away from a female reporter who was bold enough to mention the name “Reggie Bush” in his presence. And of course he just went ape ish on some cameramen after walking forehead first into a pole.

Maybe he’s just going through pre-baby emotions. Or Kanye has lost his whole a** mind.

Okay, where to begin? First of all, Kanye and Kim Kardashian looked like they were coming out of a parking garage and on their way to a little eatery when the paparazzi showed up as they always do.  We know that Ye has gotten more and more aggravated by the paps so when he saw them, he put his head down and kept walking.

Bad move.

While Kanye wasn’t looking, a “mysterious” car sign popped up out of “nowhere” and Yeezy ran right into it.  Kim tried to console him but you can clearly tell he was annoyed. Don’t believe us just watch the video on TMZ.

We’re surprised he didn’t show his full child-like personality, but he just yelled at the paps to “stop taking f**king photos” and walked into the shop.

Ohh, but it doesn’t end there.

It seems as though after Kanye realized he really hit his head and that it was on tape, he came right back outside and went “ape s**t” on another photographer.  As you can see in the video, again posted by TMZ, he snapped on a guy who was yelling that he’d just arrived:

Don’t taking a f***ing nother photo, man! Don’t take a f***ing photo! When will you muthaf***as stop?!”

Yeah, that’ll be NEVER, Yeezy. I mean, your girlfriend is the queen of getting some publicity and now you’re attacking the very people who played a huge part in giving her some shine.

We know the paps can be annoying and most of us aren’t famous but they’re only taking pictures.  There are some thing you just have to get over and ignore!

Well, let’s hope that slam into the sign doesn’t leave a knot!

Lil Kim is sick and tired of people taking advantage of her and trying to make fun of her.  In fact, she’s not taking it anymore.

On Friday, Kim filed a $1 million lawsuit against her former lawyer and his business partner over shady business practices, that according to the NY Daily News.

In the suit filed in New York, Kim claims that Sunny Barkats convinced her to sign into contracts that gave Barkats and his partner, Andrew Ro, a 44 percent stake in a company that would license her brand names (likely “Lil Kim,” “Queen Bee” and others).

While it hasn’t been released about when she signed into this deal, Kim said she figured out something was wrong in December 2012; however, Barkats wouldn’t let her out of the deal. For his part, Barkats said the lawsuit is frivolous and just a way for Kim to get out of the contracts.

In other Kim news… the 38 year old rapper let loose on the paparazzi and bloggers whom she claims are trying to ruin her image by photoshopping images of her.

On Wednesday, Kim made an appearance on MTV’s RapFix Live with Sway to promote her new artist, Tiffany Foxx. Of course, the blogs got hold of pictures of Kim as she was coming and going and posted them with some “harsh” criticism of how she looks. Well, according to Kim, the pictures made her look lighter, bigger and just all around different…and she was steaming. Like, all celebs, Kim took to Twitter to air it all out:

I mean, okay, most of us actually have seen pictures of Kim that makes her look a lot worse than she actually does. But unfortunately, she’s the one whose made so many alterations to her face that people just feel the need to play around with her looks now.  However, Kim has a right to be mad if she’s made to look terribly different.

Oh Kim, it’ll be okay girl.

Please, No Pictures: Chris Brown Totals His Car Trying To Avoid Paparazzi

It’s slowly starting to look like Chris Brown needs to leave Los Angeles when the Grammys are in town.

CNN says on Saturday, the singer totaled his car while trying to escape the cameras of the paparazzi. He was on his way to a Symphonic Love Foundation event when the accident occurred.

In a statement about the accident, Brown’s rep said he was “ruthlessly pursued by the paparazzi. Further, the statement read:

“The occupants jumped out, with cameras, and aggressively approached his vehicle. In an effort to remove himself from the situation, he began to back down an alley, at which point his was cut off by two additional vehicles.”

He then crashed the black Porsche into a wall. According to the police, Brown told them he lost control of the car while he was attempting to get away from them.

Luckily, neither Brown nor anyone else was hurt  at the scene.

The paparazzi are infamous in their tactics to get the “money shot” of certain celebrities. In other cases, they know they’re part of the more annoying part of fame and use that to get under the celebs’ skin.

There is a fear that people will be right in the face of danger as the paps become more bold and even more aggressive in their tactics.

For now, it looks like Chris Brown was actually able to stay on the right side of the law.

USA Is Where She’ll Stay: Halle Berry Loses In Custody Battle, Must Keep Nahla In The Country

After months and months of reports saying that Halle Berry was looking to pack up her little girl, Nahla, grab her boo Olivier Martinez, and head to Paris where the couple would live together, eat eclairs, get fat and live happily ever after, that wonderful Parisian dream has been shut down. According to TMZ, the judge in her custody case ruled that she can’t separate the 4-year-old from her father by moving her to Paris permanently (though Gabriel Aubry could have always visited, but who wants to do all that painstaking traveling across the world?).

While some folks speculated that Halle wanted to take Nahla to France because she felt Gabriel was an unfit parent, she had actually been arguing in court that paparazzi in Los Angeles had basically been terrorizing her and little Nahla, and she didn’t want the her daughter to grow up in such a stressful environment. According to People, France has stronger paparazzi laws in place, and aside from it being back in Olivier’s stomping grounds, that’s why she wants to settle down over there. Sounds like a pretty good argument. I’m sure you remember the photos of Halle going bananas on some paparazzi who were trying so hard to take photos of Nahla at her school–the thirst is real for some pictures out here. And Halle had allegedly said that it wasn’t about taking anybody away from anyone, she just thought France would be safer (from stalkers and paparazzi) and would benefit all parties. On Friday, a judge disagreed. The very specifics of the court ruling haven’t been released as of yet, but what we do know is that Berry is going to have to try and make the best of a messy situation in LA (or she can always move to the country…?). But whatever she does, Nahla has to stay here. For now.

Halle Berry Speaks On Her Confrontation with the Paparazzi

Somebody is gonna get hurt fooling around with Halle Berry and her child…

She’s absolutely fed up with the paparazzi, who has been hounding her ever since she gave birth to her daughter Nahla. Just recently, things began to get really bad for her after she started dating her new man, Oliviera Martinez, while going through a nasty child custody battle with her child’s father, Gabriel Aubrey.  The paparazzi literally stalk her home and her child’s school every day in hopes of a good moneyshot, and Halle has had enough!

Earlier this year, she asked the judge in her child custody case for permission to move to France where the paparazzi laws are stricter, however he denied her request because it would be harder for Gabriel to see his child. Last week, things came to a boiling point for Halle, and she went ape sh-t outside of her daughter’s school. She was caught on camera pointing, screaming and acting like a mad woman at the paparazzi while accusing them of stalking.  In a recent interview with Extra TV’s Mario Lopez she explained why she went off and says that she is about to call up the President real quick and see if he can help her out:

“I hate that I lost my cool, but you know, I’m human. That happens and when it comes to my daughter — I’m ferocious. There are no laws here that protect our children and as a mom, coming to the school… not only my child, but all the children that are there. It’s just wrong, wrong, wrong.”

“You know, I think I’m going to call Obama and say ‘look, can you help us?’ I know this seems like a little issue right now, but it’s a big issue in our lives and our lives at the school and our children being protected.”

Halle Don’t Play That: Paparazzi Learn Not To Get Too Close To Nahla The Hard Way

Between wanting to move to France and potentially having to pay Gabriel Aubry up to $20,000 a month in child support, it would be safe to assume that now is not the time to be up in Halle Berry or her daughter Nahla’s face with a camera. Unfortunately for her, those circumstances bring the paparazzi running and when they showed up at Nahla’s LA school yesterday snapping pics, Halle went off—all the way off.

It’s a shame this wasn’t a TMZ situation so we could have some audio, but from the looks on Halle’s face and her body language, I think it’s clear her words were NSFW. Assistant by her side, Halle demanded that the cameramen leave the school premises, and though you might think the actress should be used to the stalking by now, a source close to her told E! that lately the photographers have gotten out of hand.

”It is inappropriate for these people to stalk a child’s school everyday. They pushed too far [today],” the source said. “Halle felt that her daughter was being threatened. Having words with someone who is stalking your family is not out of line.”

I’m hoping 4-year-old Nahla was still in a classroom somewhere oblivious to all that was popping off in the parking lot. I imagine seeing her mother like that could be a bit distressing but one thing we can probably bet is that the paparazzi won’t be popping up at her school again (or at least for another day or two).

From HelloBeautiful.com

Lala got her career start as a media person, and on this episode of “Lala’s Full Court Life”, she got to experience the ugly side of the media, and some of the downs of being famous. Whenever Lala and her son, Kiyan, have “mommy and me time” throughout the streets of New York City, there are always a ton of cameras in sight, capturing her every move. Of course it’s great if you’re working on new projects and want to remain relevant to be photographed whenever you’re out and about and be featured on blogs but on the downside, you can’t discipline your child without it being captured by cameras, and people making assumptions that you’re “abusing” your only son.

Niecy Nash’s TLC wedding special raked in nearly 5 million viewers, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the network gave the comedian her own show, “Leave It to Niecy.” Although she is enjoying her new reality TV-found fame, she tells me she doesn’t have to worry about becoming as famous as the Kardashians for one simple reason: She’s black.

Do We Owe Celebs Privacy?

March 17th, 2011 - By Bené Viera

Charlie Sheen’s recent fiasco proved that American culture, as a whole, is obsessed with celebrities. I expected the entertainment blogs to saturate their websites with his shenanigans. It was disappointing, however, to see so many reputable news publications give a drug addict actor so much attention. Sheen did what seemed like a media tour doing interviews on various radio and television shows. Such is life in our celebrity crazed society.

In reflecting on the public’s interest in Sheen, I thought about the microscope celebrities are forced to live under every minute of every day. Their entire existence is scrutinized and put on display for the world to see.

Imagine living your life where few people knew your name outside of family and friends. Within a year your life changes drastically because now you are a star. A number of celebrities have lamented about their lack of privacy. A task once as simple as driving to the local Target can no longer be done without a swarm of paparazzi or fans asking for pictures. The disguises of dressing in casual clothing, big sunglasses and hats are not enough to shake the paps. It is inevitable a celeb’s vacation to Aruba will end up on the blogs. The intricate details of their divorces become public knowledge. And when celebs lose loved ones they cannot grieve in private.

This is the life of a celebrity for as long as they remain in the spotlight.

Although the public puts celebs on a pedestal, they make it very clear they are people with emotions like everyone else. But are celebs owed some type of privacy? Should we feel sorry for the normalcy they no longer have?

I’ve heard both arguments. There are people who believe celebrities should not be followed around by paparazzi just because they are famous. People who believe this tend to have empathy for celebs. Others think celebs should stop whining and understand this is the life they signed up for. It all comes with the territory along with the wealth and benefits, like traveling overseas.

I’d presume living in the world of fame is unique, unlike anything else in this world. They are not afforded any off days because the cameras are always on. Stars have said they would take the money, but pass on the fame if they had a choice. But I guarantee none of these celebs would trade places with us common folks. They would opt for the fame quickly if it meant returning to their former lives.
