“To be a real man or woman, you’ve got to know what you believe in. You’ve got to understand that your actions have consequences and that they are connected to everything that you are.” ― Sister Souljah
Often times we think turning a certain age or becoming a parent automatically makes us a man or a woman. However we fail to realize that it’s takes much more to hold that title. As Sister Souljah reminds us, to be a real man or woman we have to know who we are, what we believe in and understand that our actions and decisions have consequences. We are role models for the next generation, so let’s make them proud and leave a legacy they can follow and benefit from.
Have an amazing day!
Quirky Black Musical Acts at ONE MusicFest in Atlanta
There are a ton of summer concert festivals to attend every year, but the ONE MusicFest stands apart with it’s diverse musical acts and it’s philanthropic slant. Held in Atlanta on August 27 in Atlanta, ONE MusicFest attracted over 4,000 attendees to enjoy the the artistry of Anthony David, the Pharcyde, Foreign Exchange, the Cool Kids, the host Chrisette Michele and more. The Atlanta Music Project was on hand to collect used musical instruments for children in need. Now that’s a party with a purpose!
“There is a lack of representation for soul, progressive hip-hop, alternative and rock, represented under one roof, in the format of music festivals in Atlanta. ONE Musicfest was created with the idea of music as the universal language. Over time, we aim to grow this fest into a phenomenon and bring together different sectors of individuals through a unique music platform,” states J. Carter, Sol-Fusion Founder and ONE Musicfest Producer.
