We know what you’re thinking. Why in the hell are you talking about Kim Kardashian again!? Well, slow your roll and bear with us, because we thought we could all learn a little somethin’ somethin’ from her honesty about being a judgmental Judy not too long ago.

In the latest issue of Cosmopolitan, Kim Kardashian decided to open up to the magazine about motherhood, her relationship with Kanye, and her family. We found that the most interesting tidbit of the whole interview came when she discussed her sister Kourtney, a seemingly happy mother of two, and her past disappointment with Kourtney’s decision to have children with Scott Disick when the two were not married. Specifically, having their first child, Mason, in 2009. However, she quickly realized that Kourt’s family life was much more fulfilled and happy than her own:

“I was like, ‘You’re not married! How could you do this?’ I was really firm and strict. But she was like, ‘Marriage isn’t what I want.’ And later, I realized she had a better family life than I did.”

I’m sure we can all think of someone, maybe even ourselves, who has given someone the side eye for bringing a child into the world without a ring on their finger, but you never realize how far from simple the whole thing is until you  find yourself in similar circumstances. As Kevin Hart would say, “You gon’ learn today!”

Of course, Kourtney went on to add to her family with Disick by having daughter Penelope last year. The couple still has no plans for marriage that we can see (though there are rumors of an engagement),  and Kourtney seems to be more than happy with that. Ironically, the tables have turned and Kim Kardashian has found herself having a child with a man whom she’s not married to, but she says the reality that this baby is coming soon has prepared her. “I’ve always said that I wanted kids, but I don’t think I ever would have been ready until now.”

Speaking of marriage, Kim also opened up about the prospect of getting married to Kanye West sometime soon. She doesn’t know when it will happen, but she seems to think and feel that homeboy is the one.

“Sometimes you’re just not ready. A person could have it all, and you’re not ready for it all. But this is where I probably always should have been…[marriage] is something I know that we both want in our future, but I don’t have this sense of urgency about it. I have this best friend who understands me and helps me through all my tough experiences, and vice versa, you know? It just feels like this is it for me…I saw fast marriages like Khloe and Lamar’s and that was what seemed to work. [Now] I say give it a good six months before you commit. Feelings change, even if it seems so lustful.”

And you know, still being married to someone else will help chill out that sense of urgency to walk down the aisle with your new boo and what not. Juuuuuust saying.

While it took a while for little Bow Weezy to fall into the fatherly role after a dramatic paternity issue with the mother, Joie Chavis, (it seems they’re all good now), the rapper has been a doting and proud papa! And who wouldn’t want to be to such an adorable little girl? Shai Moss (a play off of Shad, Bow Wow’s actual name) should be about one now, and dad’s clearly going to have to chase the boys away because she’s already one of the cutest Hollywood babies.

And in other cute kid news, the only Kardashian that we can all agree is awesome is clearly little Mason Disick, Scott and Kourtney’s munchkin. And on top of being awesome, he’s become quite the young style icon in the baby world. But hey, when your mom knows fashion and your dad dresses like Ricky Ricardo to do the smallest of tasks, you’re bound to inherit a stylish bone or two in your little body.
