It’s Time To Grow Up Mom! Reality Stars Who Are More Mature Than Their Mothers

Before we get started, let’s just say that no one’s perfect and that mothering is an extremely hard job.  When an imperfect person is placed in a position to be a perfect role model, it can be hard, and it gets even harder when your flaws are on display on reality television.  Every parent hopes that their child does better than them and doesn’t struggle with the same issues they had.  So, instead of seeing this as a “bashing moms” thing let’s see it as a hurrah to good parenting!!  These mothers might have their flaws, but they were able to raise their children to have a better outlook than they had, even if it’s just for one iota.  All right, readers, let’s do this:

Evelyn and Shaniece Lozada

People like to give Ev a bad rap.  Honestly, I’ve never watched the show until I did this article, but where Evelyn has made her mistakes of jumping on tables and throwing bottles, her daughter Shaniece has seemingly gone a different route.  Especially considering that Evelyn had her at 16, the fact that her daughter is in college and no one has put her on blast for flipping tables and roundhouse kicking people in the face, I say that’s a good thing!

They’re Baaaaack! Trailer For “Chrissy & Mr. Jones” Drops With Baby Drama, Tears, And Some Bridal Moments…

Last week we told you that the reality show, “Chrissy & Mr. Jones” is going to replace the now defunct “Ev & Ocho.” In the process, we also showed you a clip from the upcoming series, which will showcase the lives of Chrissy Lampkin and rapper Jim Jones outside of their “Love and Hip Hop” friends (and enemies) as they try to build said lives together. In it, we saw the couple discussing Chrissy’s hopes to put baby plans on hold, and Jim’s (and Mama Jones’) disappointment at her choice. In the longer clip that has been released, we see what a full season will be like, and it includes more baby drama, relationship drama (it looks like Chrissy moves out!), and some shots of SOMEBODY’S wedding. I won’t directly assume it’s Chrissy and Jimmy’s, but after all the fuss she made over getting engaged, it would be nice if they could knock some nuptials out quickly. Anywho, check out the full trailer from their upcoming season and let us know if you’re excited to watch their drama unfold. And yes, we know that with Chrissy there can be nothing but that. If you’re down for the clowning and the love fest, you already know where to catch the show, and it premieres on Sept. 24. at 9:30/8:30c.

Made For T.V. Moms: Our Favorite Reality Show Mothers

First of all, I’d like to thank Claire Huxtable, “first” Aunt Vivian (ya’ll know the “second” Aunt Viv was a joke) and all the other television moms that may have had an impact on our lives growing up.  Personally, when Claire yelled at Vanessa for going out of town to see “The Wretched,” I almost cried out of fear and imagined my own mother.   But those days are gone and the “television” moms we have now for the most part are on reality shows.  So here’s a shout out to all the mothers of today’s television – love them or hate them, they seem to be wonderful moms…

Ratchet 101: Mama Jones Releases Trailer For Her Reality TV Show

It’s the reality television show you’ve all been waiting for! Mama Jones, the crazy, deep-voiced mother of rapper Jim Jones (who you can all catch through the show Love and Hip Hop), has just received the green light for her own reality show. No word yet on what station it will air on (Vh1 or BET probably…), and if it will even get picked up for television, but we do know that it’s being produced by Flex Alexander (you know, from One on One?), but there’s already a trailer out for the program. And of course, it’s ratchet.

It looks like you’ll get to see Mama Jones go forward with her rap career (which Jimmy is not a fan of), push a line of condoms, throw shade at her Love and Hip Hop co-stars, and kick it in the strip club. *sighs* But there is also a deep aspect to the show, where we finally get to find out about her estranged husband and the drama that comes from their struggling relationship.

Altogether, it sounds like another reality TV show I WON’T be watching (I had to leave Love and Hip Hop behind once they started fighting all the time), but if this kind of ish floats your boat, go ahead and ride. Check out the trailer from World Star Hip Hop below:

Spinoff Disaster: Mama Jones Has Her Own Show

I think we’re all guilty of speaking this nonsense into existence. The more we saw Jim Jones’ mama, Nancy, on “Love and Hip Hop,” the more we knew it was only a matter of time before she got her own spinoff reality show. Initially, people joked that she should have a series with Keyshia Coles’ mother, Frankie, but Nancy’s got her own ish now.

According to Bossip, production for the show already began this past Friday in New York. I assume the series will air on VH1, but what it will be about we can only speculate. I’m going with tales of a psychotic b**** getting her clothing and condom line off the ground while attempting to let her son finally be a man at 35.

I know Jim is somewhere shaking his head right now.

Are you surprised Mama Jones was given her own spinoff? Will you watch her reality show?

Jim Jones And T.I. Remind Us Why We Love Bad Boys

December 6th, 2011 - By Brande Victorian

It was hard to think about the fact that Jim Jones still hasn’t put a ring on it—it being Chrissy Lampkin’s finger, or that T.I. just came home from prison for the umpteenth time, after watching these two bad boys show the women in their lives special affection on last night’s episodes of “Love and Hip Hop” and “T.I. and Tiny: The Family Hustle.”

During a talk with his mother about him being in the middle of her relationship with Chrissy, Jim Jones shed tears, real man tears. He told Mama Jones, “If you say you love me the way you do and I’m telling you I love this lady the way I do, you should understand what’s going on” [and stop raping on World Star Hip Hop].

As if the site of a man crying wasn’t enough to make a woman’s heart melt, the next scene showed Jim treating Chrissy to a private rooftop Moroccan-themed dinner to show her special appreciation. I still may not get the proposal and it took a little while for me to understand their relationship, but last night I finally got why Chrissy hasn’t left Jim’s side these past six years.

During the next hour on “The family Hustle” we saw what’s kept Tiny down for T.I. over the past 10 years. TIP earned major respect when a schedule conflict and a direction-impaired driver almost kept him from attending his son’s football game. When he heard how disappointed Domani was that he wouldn’t see him play, T.I. told the driver to turn the car around and put off his BET show rehearsal to see his son play anyway. The excitement on Domani’s face was priceless.

A little bit later, the romantic side of the king of the south came out when he treated Tiny to an intimate dinner at home. Aside from the pure hotness of a man in the kitchen, T.I. looked delicious in a suit—with apron on top. He laid out a spread of “forgive me for being gone for 11 months gifts” for Tiny and then they had a private fancy dinner for two before he gave her “the best three minutes of her life.”

Trust issues, criminal backgrounds, and all other side-eye concerns when out of the minds of most women watching Jim and TIP (as observed on twitter). Both shows were a reminder of what attracts women to bad boys (I know I’m not just speaking for myself here). There’s something particularly swexy about a man with such a rough, hardcore exterior letting his guard down, even for a brief period, to show his soft side. And you can never get tired of seeing a man take care of his responsibilities as a father and husband/boyfriend. Word of caution though: It may take six to 10 years to get there with these types of men, but for Chrissy and Tiny it seems like the wait was worth it.

Did you watch the season premiere of “The Family Hustle” last night? If you caught Love and Hip Hop before, what did you think about T.I. and Jim Jones showing the women they love extra affection?

Hats For The Jimmy, Courtesy of Jim Jones’ Mommy

As if her Psychotic B**** tribute song aimed at Chrissy Lampkin wasn’t enough to embarrass her son, Jim Jones’ mother is now coming out with a line of condoms. (Pause for reaction.)

Mama Jones stopped by Power 107.5 in Columbus to discuss her beef with her son’s girlfriend and then she dropped the condom bomb. Falling under the same title as her company, the name of the condom line will be Psychotic. The slogan? “Mama says don’t leave home without it!”

I don’t know anyone who wants to think about their mother when they’re about to get it on, but this Mama Jones condom line actually makes sense to me. She clearly is the poster child for why you shouldn’t have a baby unless you are fit to be a parent.

Listen to the whole interview on Power 107.5.  I don’t think i have to ask whether you’ll be buying Psychotic condoms. How do you think Jimmy will react to this “venture?”
