Bishop Noel Jones’ Romantic Relationship With LisaRaye To Be Focus Of His Story Line On ‘Pastors Of LA’
Talk of Single Ladies actress LisaRaye McCoy’s blossoming relationship with megachurch preacher, Bishop Noel Jones has been circulating for years now. Luckily for nosy folks like us, it appears that we’ll be getting front row seats to the unlikely pair’s love affair when Oxygen debuts its new reality show, Pastors of L.A., which with more than likely be added to their on-air rotation in the next few months.
According to Always A List, attendees of the show’s private screening say that Jones and McCoy’s relationship is a huge part of the storyline and that they were very “taken back” by the duo’s courtship.
“I was really surprised that they were so open about their relationship. I heard the rumors that they had been dating, but all doubt was removed watching this show,” the insider spilled.
The source went on to recount one scene where Jones was criticizing McCoy for her “un-first ladylike” clothing selections for church.
“He basically told her that he wasn’t sure she was ‘Godly enough’ for his world, and she in turn told him he may not be ‘worldly enough’ for hers.”
We previously reported on the show last week, but in case you missed it, a quick description of the show reads:
“‘Pastors of L.A.’ will give viewers a candid and revealing look at six boldly different and world renowned mega-pastors in Southern California, who are willing to share diverse aspects of their lives, from their work in the community and with their parishioners to the very large and sometimes provocative lives they lead away from the pulpit.”
Sounds pretty um, interesting.
Sorry Hoopz: Shaq Has His Sights Set On Television Personality Rocsi Diaz
Leave it to those infamous Super Bowl parties to reveal which celebs have left their former lovers in the dust of the previous year and snagged up new boos just in time for Valentine’s Day. It seems that Shaq’s new years resolution may have been to get rid of his on-again,off-again former reality star fiancée Hoopz for good, as he was seen partying at a private gathering at The Hookah Lounge in New Orleans with “Entertainment Tonight” co-host Rocsi Diaz, reports Page Six.
Of course, the time Shaq and Rocsi spent together could’ve simply been some plain old platonic fun, but their fellow partygoers are suggesting otherwise.
“Shaq and Rocsi were holding hands at this private party and at a private table. They looked like an odd couple, but they seemed really into each other,” a source exclusively told Page Six.
Representatives of the “106 and Park” host aren’t exactly denying or confirming the claims.
“Rocsi was there hosting and her free time was incredibly short because of her work with ET. I can confirm they [she and Shaq] are very good friends,” said a rep from Diaz’s camp.
What’s interesting to note is that although Rocsi’s relationship with comedian Eddie Murphy is clearly over, Shaq and Hoopz were spotted in the Bahamas just last month. Reports even suggested that the two were back together. Not that it would mean much to Rocsi, as she’s earned quite a reputation for being a homewrecker over the years due to her alleged involvement with actress LisaRaye McCoy’s ex-husband during the couple’s marriage.
Whatever the nature of her relationship with Shaq, Rocsi appears to have had a great time.
“Anybody else believe today should be a national holiday ???Tired.com ,” The ET Tonight host tweeted.
Hmmm…
Do you think Shaq ditched Hoopz for Rocsi?

They Survived Without Stacey: VH1′s “Single Ladies” Is Coming Back For A Third Season
Get ready for another season of attractive men, bad story lines and even worse acting because the surprisingly popular VH1 show “Single Ladies” was just renewed for a third season.
VH1 blog announced today that show averaged 3.2 million viewers per night so “there’s no way” they weren’t bringing it back for more.
According to the press release, the show starring LisaRaye McCoy (Keisha), Denise Vasi (Raquel) and Charity Shea (April) as three best friends navigating the dating world in Atlanta continues to be basic cable’s #1 ad-supported regularly scheduled scripted show among women 18-49 over the course of the summer. Of course that could easily be explained by the fact that besides the Olympics, there is literally nothing else on television. However, Single Ladies has real fans. Including, the top people at VH1.
Jeff Olde, Executive Vice President of Original Programming and Production praised the show saying:
“Our viewers’ love affair with ‘Single Ladies’ got even bigger this year, growing significantly from its successful first season and dominating its timeslot on basic cable. We’re extremely happy that we’ll be able to give the audience another great season of the series and its honest, current take on love, dating and female friendship.”
Single Ladies strategically comes on directly after the inexplicably popular reality show “Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta”. For VH1, Monday nights are all about shoddy relationships and overall fantastical lives that are presented as the norm and viewers are loving it.
Unlike the first season, this season of Single Ladies left the drama to the script so all of the main characters are coming back next season. (Sorry Stacey Dash/rest in television peace Val.) So if you’re rooting for Reggie & April or hoping Raquel gets back with Antonio or wondering if Keshia will get back with Malcolm, you have a few months to speculate. Season three will premiere sometime in 2013.
Are you excited to hear the show is coming back?

Shade: D.B. Woodside Popped Bottles When He Found Out Stacey Dash Was Leaving ‘Single Ladies’
Let’s just say we’re shocked that LisaRaye of all people handled Stacey Dash’s “Single Ladies” exit better than some of her other castmates. Though we expected her to be in full-on Keisha mode when she talked about what really went on on the set, she kept it classy and didn’t say much. D.B. Woodside on the other hand, who plays Malcolm, was quick to let Sister 2 Sister know he didn’t shed a single tear when he found out Stacey was leaving.
“When I first heard that Stacey was leaving, I went out and celebrated and had some drinks,” he told the mag.
That statement prompted them to ask if Stacey was really as bad to work with as rumors say she is and D.B. didn’t hold his tongue then either.
“Yes, she was. I don’t want to cause any trouble, but I, for one, am happy she’s gone. It’s a much better place to be. It’s a much better set. I’m just going to keep it straight. I’m just going to keep it real. I am happy that she’s not there anymore.
“Last year was very difficult at times to go to set with all that tension that was going on with Stacey. So I wish her well. I’m sure she’s off doing something else.”
Yesterday we found out what that something else is, which makes us think she would have been better off keeping that ‘tude in check but this is clearly her loss. Sister 2 Sister tried to get some details about the drama between Stacey and LisaRaye and see whether the stories of cat fights were really true, but D.B. wouldn’t say much on that, other than where his allegiance lies.
“All I’ll say is this – LisaRaye is my girl. I love LisaRaye. LisaRaye and I have always had a blast on the show; and all I’ll say is I’m Team LisaRaye.”
Since Denise Vasi has stepped in as a Val replacement, but with her own story line as Raquel, S2S wondered how the crew is warming up to her and how they think fans will respond. D.B. said it’s all good.
“You know, I think for some people…for some of the fans…it’s going to take a minute to get used to the fact that we had to make that switch. We love Denise! She’s fantastic; she’s talented; she’s gorgeous. She’s one of the nicest people that I’ve ever met in my life, and we just love her so.”
Stacey Dash must be nuts for real. His reaction to her departure is hilarious.

A Few Things We’re Going To Have To Accept About ‘Single Ladies’
If you’re anything like me, last night you had all your errands ran, shower taken, and a hot meal in front of you in anticipation of the season 2 premiere of ‘Single Ladies’ at 9. And then, you either enjoyed the show for what it was or went in on it on Twitter. Since I’m in the camp who took the show for what it was, based on what I’d already seen last season, I decided to put together a list of things fans and naysayers are just going to have to accept about the show if they’re going to make it through 60 minutes of it every Monday. You may be asking why you have to accept any of this, and you don’t. But you’ll save your fingers the pain of running ragged trying to type out 140 characters of shade after every scene if you make peace with these few “Single Ladies” facts.
1. Valerie is gone. I could quite possibly be the only one who still thought she was coming back, but from the way things were playing out in the beginning of the season opener I really did still think there was a chance. I figured a trip to Milan means she’s coming back, right? But then the ladies read the email that said she decided to stay and I poured out my own champagne for Val along with the girls. Just kidding about the last part, but I think that on-screen gesture clearly meant Stacey is not welcomed on set ever again in life.
2. There will be bad acting. This shouldn’t surprise anyone but from the comments made on Twitter, I think people might have suspected the girls had taken acting classes in between seasons or something. Not so. I think a lot of people also had high hopes for Denise Vasi since she came from All My Children and seemed to be a decent actress to most, but if there is no other similarity between Denise and Val, here’s one: they’re both B-list actresses with C+ acting ability. I don’t mind because I’ve accepted it. If you turn on this show and expect to see the likes of Viola Davis or Anika Noni Rose, you will be highly upset.
3. Both LisaRaye McCoy and Keisha Green are ghetto. I don’t know what came first, LisaRaye’s addition to Single Ladies or her character’s development but let’s just say these two are one in the same. LisaRaye has never been anything but hood and neither has her character Keisha. Neither one knows how to fully finish a word, they both think hungry has an O in it, and they’ve mastered the neck roll, teeth-smacking, face-squinching attitude to a T. You know the saying, you can take the girl out of the hood but you can’t take the hood out of the girl. Keisha and Lisa’s ghettoness is what it is no matter how you dress it up, which most times is poorly, but that’s my next point.
4. Valerie will continue to be the only character who could dress. Val was a bad dresser, bad meaning good. The other ladies just dress badly. I thought they’d make Raquel the new Val in terms of fashion since they’ve both got that petite cuteness thing going on but once I saw those black leggings and that jersey knit blue top they put her in towards the end of he episode, not to mention that terrible weave, I made peace with the departure of fashion excellence that was Val. It seems they might be stepping up April’s style and the beauty crew definitely gets points for giving Keisha that cut because lord knows there was nothing right about her wigs last season, but that’s pretty much where the praise stops.
5. There will be corniness (but not as much now that April’s husband is gone). I actually liked the tango scene at the opening of last night’s show but I know many thought it was wack. Yes, it’s far fetched that every member of the cast would be skilled enough to hit the dance floor like a “Dancing with the Stars” pro but it drew us in, so in my book they get points for creativity. It may have been a tad corny but it wasn’t like the cast was stereotypically dropping it like it’s hot. Let’s try to find the positive.
Once you get past these five things you’ll be able to enjoy “Single Ladies” much more and take the show for what it is because if nothing else, it has some fine men that are worth sitting through an hour of bad acting and terrible fashion for. Plus Omar’s still on the show, which I consider a big plus, and the foreign assistant, Christina is not, which I consider an even bigger plus. So trust, yes, there’s a lot of bad with this show, but there’s some good that’s entertaining too.
Here’s a clip of last night’s opener in case you missed it. What did you think?

Calling All ‘Single Ladies:’ The Season 2 Trailer Is Here
In just one week, VH1′s popular scripted series “Single Ladies” will be back for season 2. Fans who fell in love with the show last season are still mourning Stacey Dash’s departure but what better way to figure out if round 2 will be worth watching without her then by checking out the show’s supertrailer?
The preview clip gives us a first look at Denise Vasi and the plot of her new character Raquel Lancaster. From the looks of things, she might be Stacey Dash 2.0—cute, bubbly, not as naive. LisaRaye’s character Keisha appears to be in a bit of a love triangle between Malcolm and a new suitor, and it looks like April, played by Charity Shea, is going to be working overtime to solidify her re-entry into the dating game. I’ll admit I’m kind of excited to add this to my Monday night lineup. The acting isn’t the best, but overall this is a fun, entertaining show and one of the last of the dying scripted series breed.
The series premiere airs May 28 at 9pm. Check out the trailer and tell us what you think. Will you tune in for season 2?

LisaRaye Spills The Beans On Why She’s Done With Stacey Dash and Duane Martin
Stacey Dash we’re not so surprised about, but beef with Duane Martin? In the coming issue of JET, LisaRaye finally speaks on the drama that erupted between her and Ms. Dash during their time on the set of “Single Ladies,” and she drops a different bomb about another person who got beside himself and she had to subsequently cut out of her life—Duane Martin. Here’s a snippet of what she told the magazine.
On “Single Ladies” without Stacey Dash
“Believe me I wish things had worked out because I thought Stacey and I were great together. She was my age and we were working it. It was sex-symbol to sex-symbol. But she didn’t want to be there. I was disappointed about that. She had some issues. I’m not sure exactly what those issues were. In the end, she and VH1 made a decision.”
Whether there were really cat fights on the set
“Yes, there was a disagreement over a scene. And it really wasn’t with me. It was with the director. I think it was about 2 or 3AM and we’d been shooting all damn day. Stacey tried to argue with the director about a line. And I’m like: ‘Girl, if you don’t say what the director wants you to say.’ It wasn’t that serious at first, but it went there.
“It’s a bunch of women on the set. We might all be on our d*mn period at any given point. I just wanted us to move forward. Then the argument took on a life of its own. The show decided to use it for publicity. They just ran with it.”
Why she’s no longer friends with Duane Martin
“I introduced him to my ex-husband [former Turks & Caicos Premier Michael Misick], he got buddy-buddy with him and then turned against me. Just recently, this fool Duane up and sold a building he and I bought awhile ago in Los Angeles, without asking…I don’t care if we’re not friends, just don’t try to f**k me in the interim.
“When I heard about him in the middle of Will & Jada’s divorce rumors, I tweeted: sounds familiar. He really ain’t got enough business.”
She is too much. At least it sounds like the problems on set were all about Stacey’s ‘tude and not two black actresses being too catty to get along. At the end of the day, LisaRaye’s still got a job and Stacey is losing gig after gig so it’s not hard to see who’s the problem there. Duane? I don’t even know what to say about that.
Pick up the May 28 issue if you want to catch up on the rest of Ms. McCoy’s life and why she needs to be less vindictive. What do you think about her beefs?

First Look: ‘Single Ladies’ Season 2 Promo, Will You Watch?
VH1′s scripted series “Single Ladies” looks like it’s changing its course a bit. The network just released a fun promo for season 2 of the show featuring LisaRaye, Charity Shea, and cast newcomer Denise Vasi that makes it look like the next season will be heavy on the good times and light on the drama.
It will be interesting to see how Denise’s new character, Raquel fits into the mix—and how they explain the demise of Stacey Dash’s character, Val. When VH1 spotlighted Denise earlier this year, she described her character like this:
“Her name is Raquel Lancaster and she comes from high society Atlanta, her family is pretty typical to that as well. What I think the audience will identify with is that Raquel doesn’t come with the pretentiousness that she could, and there’s this idea of what a woman coming from old money, Tuxedo Park Atlanta should be like and she’s not like that. Her journey is in finding herself again. She hasn’t taken a dime from her parents since college, she’s made a name for herself, but she’s going to ask herself, is this who I really am, and am I making decisions based on what I want, or on what’s expected of me”
Judging from the photos on VH1′s website, Denise isn’t the only one who’s new to the cast. There appears to be some new eye candy coming to ATL and, thankfully, LisaRaye’s onscreen love interest Malcolm will be coming back. Charity’s estranged husband seems to be missing from the promo pics though. Looks like they might have gone ahead and signed those papers.
The series will premier Monday, May 28. Check out the promo here. Do you plan to watch?

Is LisaRaye Engaged to a Megachurch Pastor?
It’s hard to separate LisaRaye from her “Player’s Club” stripper image—not that the numerous booty shots she’s had in men’s magazines do anything to help that. But members at the City of Refuge mega church in Gardena, CA, may have to do just that if Sister McCoy is going to become their first lady. Rumor has it that she’s dating the church’s pastor, Noel Jones, and the couple is seriously considering marriage.
As is par for the B-list entertainer course, LisaRaye is also rumored to be shopping a reality show on the pastor’s behalf called “Keeping up with the Joneses.” Brother Jones apparently is interested in television and furthering his career beyond traditional pastoring. What better way than a reality show? (Note sarcasm).
The pastor of the church, which is home to many celebs like Will Smith and Jada Pinkett, is also rumored to have dated Nene Leakes but “she had too much baggage.” All things considered, it doesn’t sound like this divorced pastor is much of a step up from LisaRaye’s corrupt prime minister ex-husband, Michael Misisck. Sounds like the two might just be looking for spotlight and a new revenue stream.
Can you really see LisaRaye as a preacher’s wife?
