Fashion brand Lanvin has launched a new advertising campaign that will feature “real men and women” rather than models. One of those models is 82-year-old dancer Jacquie Tajah Murdock.

Born in Harlem and now living in New York University housing, Murdock began dancing at the age of 17 with an appearance on the Apollo Theater stage. She now lectures and performs at the Jazz Museum in Harlem and is working on a memoir. Separately, she was also one of the first Black typists at Universal Films in 1948.

Murdock was rediscovered while walking down the street last year by Ari Seth Cohen, the man behind the Advanced Style blog and book, both highlighting stylish older adults. She was photographed for his book and has since gotten a ton of publicity, including a visit to the Today show.

The Lanvin ads will star real people as young as 18.
