Pass Or Play: Mya Heads To Jamaica To Take Out The Trash With Reggae-Inspired Video, “Take Him Out”

When was the last time you actually saw Mya? That’s what we were thinking when we came across this new video she dropped recently called “Take Him Out.” But it’s not the “Movin’ On,” “Case of the Ex” or “My Love is Like Whoa” type of Mya we’re used to. This new jam and its accompanying video features Jamaican female rapper Spice, and is more reggae than Mya’s usual pop and R&B selections. In the video, Mya is seen cleaning up after a grown a** man who seems to only like sitting on the couch watching television. She reminisces about the good times but acknowledges that homeboy got too comfortable and she’s not having it. Hence, she’s going to “take him out” like the trash. Clever. I guess…On top of that, the singer, Spice, and all the other women poppin’ that “thang” in the video are dressed like sanitation workers, but Halloween style in bras and booty shorts as they ride the back of a garbage truck and dance around in a field. The dance breakdown is good, as Mya has always been able to bust a move with the best of them in the R&B game, but aside from that, this video is doing the most.
The song, I will say, gets kind of catchy after a while, especially when you get to the chorus. However, she could have saved the fake Jamaican accent because it was off. Oh yeah, and all the awkward lip colors folks were rocking in the video could go with the accent too. It’s a colorful video and song, and I see her trying to do something new and different, but personally I’ll pass. She’s still cute though! The song is featured on the deluxe version of her album, K.I.S.S.
But how about you check out the video for yourself and let us know what you think? Pass or play?

If you were one of those people worried for Lauryn Hill after finding out that her ex, and the father of five of her children, Rohan, was getting married to someone else, it looks like you have nothing to be worried about. In a recent picture of the mom and her kids, she and the brood are all smiles. The two oldest individuals on the far right are Nico and Eden, Rohan’s children from a previous relationship with “ex-wife” Geraldine Khawly. The others are Sarah (the cutie with the braids), Selah (in the striped shirt), Micah (being held), John and Joshua (in the far right). Little Micah is the baby boy that Hill had last year (he isn’t Rohan’s son). These kids are too cute! And may I add, Nico and Eden look exactly alike. Kind of cool, a little creepy, but very cute. Check out a few other photos of Lauryn’s kids (and friends/family) living it up in Kingston, Jamaica, and playing around at Mystic Mountain, courtesy of BlackCelebKids.com:

And the Marley children aren’t the only ones who went on a vacation recently. Madonna and her growing family flew to Tel Aviv, Israel for her concert, and before her performance, her kids hit the beach. Her daughter, Mercy James, and son, David Banda Mwale Ciccone Ritchie, played around and seemed to have a good time while mom watched from the balcony above. Geez, I remember when these two were tiny! Time sure does fly…

And last but not least, Corrinne Foxx, the daughter of actor/singer Jamie Foxx, went to prom with her boyfriend recently. The 18-year-old posted this prom photo to her Twitter and now little miss thing is all grown up and looking fabulous. How adorable. Her caption: “My love <3″ Awwww!
