Before there was Kanye West and Kim Kardashian or even Kanye and Amber Rose, there was Kanye and Alexis. The Chicago rapper/producer met Alexis Phifer back in 2002 and the cute couple dated on and off for four years before West finally popped the question. After an 18-month whirlwind engagement the two went their separate ways citing his hectic touring schedule as the cause. West dated then-unknown model Amber Rose before settling down with the reality show superstar who is now pregnant with their first child.

A little less than a month ago we told you that a woman who claimed to be the former nanny of Kim Porter, Sean “P.Diddy” Combs’ children’s mother, filed a lawsuit against Kim. According to the woman’s suit, Kim verbally and violently abused her. She also expressed that Kim frequently indulged in narcotics and other drugs around her twin daughters. Now, a second nanny has come forward claiming that Kim treated her horribly during her stint of employment as the Combs children’s nanny.

According to TMZ, nanny number two is a woman by the name of Amanda Jansen and she filed her suit against Diddy’s company Bad Boy Entertainment since she claims that’s where her checks were coming from. Sources say that Jansen is suing the entertainment company for six figures, as she claims she was simply hired to look after Kim’s children but her job quickly turned into a full-service housekeeping position. The disgruntled ex-employee says that in addition to caring for the children, she was also required to sometimes work over 100 hours per week without ever being given a proper break.

Jansen also says Kim never gave her a room with a working lock and that she was forced to live out of a suitcase because the only furniture her bedroom contained was a bed and a computer desk. In the suit, Jansen complains that when she tried to speak to Kim about her crazy schedule, she was fired.

We hear that the woman is suing for overtime compensation that she allegedly never received and wrongful termination in addition to a few other grievances.

Yesterday we reported that a woman by the name of Dawn Drago was suing actress and mother of three of entrepreneur P.Diddy’s children, Kim Porter. Drago’s suit, which was filed by attorney Patrick Reider, accuses Kim of violently and verbally abusing her during her period of employment as Porter’s nanny. Drago also claims that Porter is an avid drug user who is not above getting high in front of her twin daughters. The lawsuit implies that Porter’s drug of choice is marijuana and goes on to suggest that she also indulges in coc*ine and pill-popping.

Since the explosive claims made headlines yesterday, a source close to Kim has reached out to TMZ, stating that the former nanny is a liar and that she’s bitter because Kim fired her. The source went on to say that Drago is a convicted shoplifter, which is something that she failed to mention on her employment application. The insider also revealed that Kim is not allowing the claims to move her and that the allegations made about her being a drug abuser are completely false. Since Diddy has taken no action (at least not that we see) against Kim in an effort to remove the twins from her home, some are taking that as proof that he does not believe the allegations either.

In response to the source’s shoplifting revelation, the firm representing Drago released a statement to TMZ, saying that her prior conviction is irrelevant” because she was not working at a shop.”

Yeah, allow that to settle for a moment.

Kim Porter may be in need of a “fixer” right now, as the mom of four has found herself in the midst of a scandal that has the potential to be quite damaging. TMZ reports that Dawn Drago, a woman who says she worked as Porter’s nanny from 2011 to 2012 is suing her for an undisclosed amount.

Let’s start with why Drago is suing. It is being reported that the former nanny alleges that Porter “verbally and violently” abused her. She also claims that Porter frequently chain-smoked marijuana around the twin daughters she shares with hip-hop mogul, Sean “Diddy” Combs, which sort of leads into why she isn’t Porter’s nanny anymore. Drago claims that she was fired last year after confronting Porter about the heavy amounts of marijuana being used in the house and complaining that all of the smoke was choking her.

The Combs children’s former caregiver went on to allege that marijuana wasn’t the only drug that Kim indulged in, but says that she also found coc*ine during the time she was employed by Porter. She recounted one occasion in particular, where she was driving the children to school and noticed that they had a “white powdery substance” all over them. According to Drago, the children had somehow gotten into ”a bag containing the powder, along with clear capsules, filled with another powdery substance in a bag in the back seat.” When confronted about it, Drago says Kim claimed the bag “contained medicine.”

Court papers were filed on behalf of Drago by attorney Patrick Reider.

Diddy may be a lot of things, but from appearances, it seems that one of those things is a devoted father. On Friday, he posted this picture of he and his 6 year old twin daughters, D’Lila and Jessie Combs on their way to a father-daughter dance. Being that these two are Diddy’s first girls, before Chance was born a year later, this was his first time going to this type of event.

Too cute! Hopefully, Chance will have a father-daughter dance of her own to go to next year.

In a music video. Ha! I had you fooled didn’t I? But seriously, the former model-turned-actor showed up in the TLC video, “Red Light Special” to lick T-Boz’s foot and make the boa look on a man fierce! I also wasn’t mad at the ab action and striptease he tried to pull near the end of the video. I can’t see Kodjoe doing this now, but it wouldn’t hurt for him to get back out there and drop it like it’s hot in a video. What else does he really have going on?

In Twitter/Instagram lurking news, Mr. Playa Playa, aka Diddy, and his rumored boo, Cassie, decided to be a bit open about their feelings for one another through their Twitter pages today. For the most part, it has been just pure speculation that the mogul and model/singer/whatever-you-feel-like-calling-her were an item, but they’ve been very lovey-dovey lately. From butt grabbing in public to Cassie’s cryptic/angry messages to the haters that she has been in a committed relationship with “someone” for a LONG time and is “sooooo in LOVE with HIM!”, things have been getting really real.

Today, things got interesting. It all started when Cassie posted the photo below of Diddy getting his jet-ski on shirtless and with a fitted cap on. When she posted it via her Instagram, she captioned the photo with, “.love.him.” And if you were wondering, the emoticon next to her proclamation below is the smiley face with hearts on the eyes.

Followers were excited for her, and of course, about the same amount of followers threw a bit of shade for her to catch. For example:

Well, there you have it, folks. And if you say “Who cares?” know that you do, especially if you’re in the post. Anywho, now that you #knowthat as Diddy would say, we can all rest peacefully at night knowing that 42-year-old Diddy has finally found an interesting way to claim his 26-year-old love interest after all these years. It seemed to be important to her for him to do so (as I’m sure it would be important to any woman), as some people just assumed she was a side piece messing around for tracks while he still got cozy with other ladies. “We Are Family” is the anthem that Sister Sledge made popular. Blood is blood but kin born outside the mother’s womb aren’t being recognized as they should nowadays. A distinction of separate but equal has taken over, where mothers are keeping their children from having a close relationship with siblings born outside of relationships, or who came into the picture from a parent’s new relationship. The practice may spare the adults hurt feelings, but it’s the children who suffer when they’re not allowed to have a meaningful relationship with their brothers and sisters.

In an ideal world, families would be raised under one roof with two loving parents to help guide and nurture their children into adulthood. Alas, idealism isn’t reality, and sometimes people make less than positive choices that bring children into the world. No one’s life is as perfect as they try to make it out on Facebook. It’s hard raising a family. It’s even harder when a child is born outside of a couple’s relationship. Two high profile examples of that can be seen by former Senator John Edwards and producer Swizz Beatz. They both had children outside of their failed marriages.

Swizz was married to his now ex-wife Mashonda, with whom he had a son with, when he fathered a little girl outside of their relationship by the name of Nicole. He had the child with a singer from the U.K. Mashonda found it in her heart to accept the little one, and even went as far as to wish her mother a Happy Mother’s Day. Whether or not it was sincere or covered in a layer of shade, we don’t know, but she’s made the effort and Swizz has stepped up as a father. When he tweets about his kids, Nicole’s can be seen with her brothers (as Mashonda’s son Kasseem can be seen with Alicia Keys’s son, Egypt), and she often gets her own shout outs and love.

For John Edwards, his lovechild, Frances Quinn, wasn’t immediately a priority. When she came into the picture, he went on national television and denied paternity because he wanted to save his reputation. He finally acknowledged the little girl publicly a few months back when he was acquitted from his corruption charges and referred to her as “precious,” and a lot more: “My precious Quinn, who I love more than any of you could ever imagine, and I am so close to, and am so, so grateful for, so grateful for Quinn.”

His affectionate sentiment got under the skin of many. And while some people have their emotions invested in hating Rielle Hunter, his mistress and the mother of Quinn, that’s no reason to transfer that hostility onto their daughter, or to be upset when her father shows love for her. However, during Rielle’s recent book tour for her tell-all, she admitted that her mistakes have affected Quinn since she has no relationship with her older siblings.

Another example, but with a happy ending, is Sean Combs. Diddy and the mothers of his children have avoided that painful dynamic after letting time pass, realizing that family is family. The producer and mogul had his daughter, Chance, while in a serious relationship with on-again, off-again love, Kim Porter. Of course, soon after Chance was born (five months later), his twins were brought into the world and the little girl no longer was a secret. Porter was said to be devastated, and for a long while, didn’t want her daughters, D’Lila and Jessie around or acquainted with Chance. However, times have changed, and hearts have softened. Diddy recently tweeted a picture of all three little girls hanging out together, and all seems well and good. The adults finally got out of their feelings and put the kids first, because we all know that shunning a child does not change DNA, or past mistakes.

It takes a big person to rise above hardened feelings, but when you’re a parent, it’s what you need to do. No one should have to be 15 and introduced to three grown men who are strangers at first glance, but in reality, are brothers never spoken of or brought around. That’s what happened to me. I still remember the feelings I had and what I did when I met my big brothers for the first time: I just hugged them. I saved the questions for later and just embraced each of them, just glad I got to meet them, even if much time had passed. We don’t have a super-glue bond, but at least there is one. My eldest brother even thought of me a few weeks ago and sent me a story about Kindle helping struggling authors get ahead. It was a small gesture, but he thought of me and that’s what family is about.

Sometimes, tough pills need to be swallowed for the greater good. For the good of the children and the good of the parent as well. There’s no need to keep siblings separated, or blame a child for the indiscretions of their parent. They didn’t ask to come into the world, but since they’re here, why not let them bond with their family?
