Classy Shade: Naomi Campbell Speaks On Kimye Vogue Cover, Says It’s An Honor That Needs To Be Earned
There have been plenty of mixed reactions put out there about Kim Kardashian and Kanye West covering Vogue magazine’s April issue, and even celebrities aren’t holding back their opinions. Actress Sarah Michelle Gellar wanted to cancel her subscription after seeing the cover (“Well……I guess I’m canceling my Vogue subscription. Who is with me???”), and Shahs of Sunset star Reza Farahan told TMZ that he thinks West paid Vogue off to get his lady on the cover. But one person who has been on the cover of Vogue and had an interesting point to make of it all, is Naomi Campbell. In an interview with “The Morning Show” in Australia this morning, she was asked her opinion about the cover. Campbell shared her thoughts in a “politically correct” manner without bashing the magazine and her friend, Anna Wintour, but still managed to give a side-eye to the whole thing:
Kylie Gillies: “What do you think of Kim and Kanye’s US Vogue cover, given that you’ve been on the cover yourself countless times?”
Naomi Campbell: “I do not want to comment [laughs].”Gillies: “Why?”Campbell: “Because I’m a fashion model and I’ve been working for 28 years. And when you get a Vogue cover, it’s a build in your career. It’s a stepping stone to achieve that. I’m a fashion model, so, what more can I say?”
Gillies: “So you think Kim and Kanye haven’t earned the right to be on the cover of Vogue?”
Campbell: “Those are your words, I’m being politically correct. That’s Anna Wintour’s choice to put them on the cover of her magazine, who’s to question it?”
Wintour, who is the editor-in-chief of the famed magazine (and reportedly the inspiration behind The Devil Wears Prada), responded to the controversy on Friday.
“As for the cover, my opinion is that it is both charming and touching, and it was, I should add, entirely our idea to do it; you may have read that Kanye begged me to put his fiancee on Vogue‘s cover. He did nothing of the sort. The gossip might make better reading, but the simple fact of the matter is that it isn’t true.”
There you have it. The opinion of one of the more elite fashion models of all time, and the response from the woman behind the biggest fashion magazine on the planet. What do you think of Campbell’s “politically correct” statements on the cover?
Pardon me for starting off this post so cliche but has any other image in recent memory proven the phrase “a picture says a thousand words” so much as this one?
All day people have been going ham on the spread inside Vogue’s latest issue which features Kanye and Kim on the cover, but the photo that’s single-handedly threatened to break the Internet is this Vogue North West Kimye selfie pic, which no one can deny captures this couple’s true essence.
I believe writer Matt Novak said it best when he wrote: “This photo is going to be taught in every media studies course of the next 100 years.”

That’s exactly the sentiment I had when I looked at this shot, and that thought was quickly followed by another, which was: And I bet Kanye and Kim don’t even get it.
Caption this pic and tell us what — if anything — you think was going through the West family’s head when they were asked to take this photo. Are they still playing the media and consumers or are they getting played this time around?
This week we were elated, shocked and disgusted by the news!
First and foremost, we fell in love with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s Vogue cover. Love or hate ‘em, the couple looked gorgeous and we even got an adorable peek at North West in their family photo shoot. On the subject of marriage, Kevin Hart opened up to Oprah about his infidelity issues with his first wife, Torrei Hart. Erica Campbell of Mary Mary, even noted she and her husband, Warryn Campbell have had similar issues. Speaking of gospel singers, Tye Tribbet noted homosexuality is absolutely normal but it may not be God’s best for you.
In other absurd news, actress Countess Vaughn suffered from a skin infection because of lace front wigs. A man bit of his baby son’s nose because he would not stop crying. Also, there was a warrant for Anita Baker’s arrest because she did not pay a $15,000 painting fee. Chris Brown will be in solitary confinement in jail and Uncle Sam is after Lauryn Hill, again! Get into all of this, below.
Mama we made it! We thought we’d never see the day but it looks like Kanye’s campaign has proven successful. He petitioned Vogue editor Anna Wintour for months trying to get Kim Kardashian on the cover. The couple are on the April cover, the shape issue of Vogue magazine! The iconic magazine once again tapped famed photographer Annie Leibovitz to capture the beautiful couple. Kim is the stand out, posing in front of her man in a wedding dress while Kanye takes the backseat.
In the April 2014 issue of Sister 2 Sister magazine, Tribbett spoke about homosexuality and why he believes Christians can reach more people through love rather than hate.
Kanye has been on a campaign to get his fiancée, Kim Kardashian, on the cover of Vogue for as long as we can remember. And as we previously reported today, he can now rest because his dream has finally come true. Of course, we all know how bad Kanye wanted that Vogue cover, so it’s not surprising that rumors about him begging the fashion magazine’s EIC, Anna Wintour, for the cover are resurfacing. However, according to Daily Mail, Anna says those rumors are completely false.
“Part of the pleasure of editing Vogue, one that lies in a long tradition of this magazine, is being able to feature those who define the culture at any given moment, who stir things up, whose presence in the world shapes the way it looks and influences the way we see it,” Anna writes in the issue’s Letter From The Editor. “I think we can all agree on the fact that that role is currently being played by Kim and Kanye to a T. (Or perhaps that should be to a K?)”
Though she admits that the gossip probably makes the issue more enjoyable for the reader, she affirms that Kanye did not beg for the cover.
“As for the cover, my opinion is that it is both charming and touching, and it was, I should add, entirely our idea to do it; you may have read that Kanye begged me to put his fiancée on Vogue’s cover. He did nothing of the sort. The gossip might make better reading, but the simple fact of the matter is that it isn’t true.”
Her letter continues:
“There’s barely a strand of the modern media that the Kardashian Wests haven’t been able to master, and for good reason: Kanye is an amazing performer and cultural provocateur, while Kim, through her strength of character, has created a place for herself in the glare of the world’s spotlight, and it takes real guts to do that.”
And there you have it!

The cover is nice but let’s be real, we’re most excited about Baby North featured on the pages. Check out the picture of the little one on the next page. There’s also a video including the other pictures from the upcoming spread.
Here’s what both Kanye and Kim had to say about the cover.

Trill indeed Ye. We didn’t think it would ever happen but honestly it makes a whole lot of business sense. People who love and hate Kim will but this issue and who can deny North’s cuteness. Smart move.

Meet Kanye West’s new fiancée!
In an attempt to find out what people think about her, Kim Kardashian underwent a total transformation for Oxygen’s new show “Celebrities Undercover.”Seems like pretty dangerous territory, but the show grabs well-recognized celebrities and makes them under to appear as regular people. In addition to Kardashian, Wendy Williams, Lil Kim, Ice and Coco have all gone through the same process. And the results have been hilarious.
For Kardashian’s makeunder she was transform by a team of makeup artist, put on a wig and used a fake accent. She was added to a group of superfans who were suppose to be meeting Kourtney and Scott Disick. Without revealing too much she fooled everyone and found out who was a genuine fan or far-weather fan.

No one could dispute that being a celebrity certainly comes with privileges, but there’s a downside to everything. Unfortunately, because these stars spend so much time in the limelight, they’ve been the target of negative criticism after being bullied because their weight.
Ke$ha doesn’t fit the stereotype of how the average singer/rapper is supposed to look. Born and raised in Los Angeles, the 27-year-old marches to the beat of her own drum, so when it was revealed that the “Die Young” rapper checked into rehab for an eating disorder earlier this year, fans were shocked. Even worse, her mother revealed that Ke$ha was bullied to lose weight by people within her own inner circle. Soon after checking in, Ke$sha released a statement: “I’m a crusader for being yourself and loving yourself but I’ve found it hard to practice.” She continued that she was aiming “to learn to love myself again. Exactly as I am.”
We are not going to lie: Photoshop can definitely be a good thing. It can provide people with a little nip and tuck action without ever setting foot in an operating room. It can help when lighting and weather conditions simply aren’t your friend. But when abused, it can also become one of the most problematic tools in any editors’ arsenal. And celebrities seem to be baring the brunt of Photoshop catastrophes. So as 2014 chugs along, we take a look at some of the most egregious celebrity photoshop mishaps in history.
There’s being a fan and then there’s taking things too far. These fans decided to show their undying loyalty to their favorite celebrities by professing their love in ink…unfortunately.
The Ciara neck tattoo
She may be engaged to Atlanta singer/songwriter Future, and thus taken, but that didn’t stop one man from getting Ciara’s face tattooed on his neck. The die hard C-squad fan club member showed off his ink on social media and the soon-to-be mom reposted it on her instagram page with a shout-out to her faithful follower. No word yet how Future feels about the tattoo.
