Monday is here which means it’s time for another episode of Hotness or Hot Mess. Today’s potential #ManCrushMonday is going out to one of these funnymen — Mike Epps, Dave Chappelle, Katt Williams, Chris Rock, or Lil Duval — but that all depends on whether the ladies in the video above deem them hotness or a hot mess. Check out the video and weigh in in the comments section.
Just a couple of months ago, when he appeared on the Arsenio Hall show, we were remarking at how well comedian Katt Williams seemed to be doing. He explained and took ownership for some of his off-centered behavior in the past and even admitted that if he got his act together, he’d be greater than he is today.
And his name wasn’t associated with any drama for the past few months.
But today, TMZ is reporting that Williams got into an altercation with someone at the Comedy Store, a night club, in Hollywood, last night. Sometime during the drama, Williams pulled a gun out.
Eyewitnesses told TMZ that Katt was inside the club, not performing on stage, when someone started heckling him, making comments about his size and race. And Katt didn’t take too kindly to it. The eyewitness says he “went crazy” and pulled a gun on the person making the remarks.
Someone called 911, claiming that someone was waving a gun around, and six cop cars arrived at the scene. Officers pointed guns at the club, preparing for…whatever.
But Katt wasn’t even there anymore. He’d already left.
So far no arrest warrant has been issued but officers are still investigating.
You know, I fully understand that Katt Williams isn’t exactly making the best decisions but it’s also very clear that people are trying to get a rise out of him, talking all types of crazy when they see him in the street. Someone can hurl racist language at you but the moment you pull a gun out, you’re the crazy one.
Honestly, it’s a wonder more of us haven’t snapped.
Just last week, we reported that, despite their minor Twitter “beef,” Mike Epps and Kevin Hart would be starring in the new Nick Cannon directed comedy School Dance.
Well the trailer from the film, set to hit select theaters on July 2, was just released. And while we saw Mike Epps, Kevin Hart doesn’t appear to be in it. If he makes a cameo in the film, it would have made sense to put him in the clip, considering the brightness of his star these days. But Kevin certainly has enough on his plate these days.
Anyway, the ensemble cast includes big name comedians like Katt Williams, Affion Crockett, Lil Duval and Luenell. We also pepped Amber Rose in there.
School Dance is something like a coming of age/dance movie but probably more vulgar than you’re used to. According to Lionsgate, the rated R film follows Jason, played by Bobb’e J. Thompson, a high schooler who “has found his dream girl—the gorgeous Anastacia. There’s just one problem: she doesn’t know he exists. If he can win a spot on the school’s hottest dance crew, Jason might have a shot. But before he does, he’ll have to overcome his battle-ax of a mother, survive Anastacia’s gangsta brother, and pass the crew’s initiation—in this fresh, sexy, and outrageously funny comedy.”
Personally, I was happy to see Katt Williams back in action. He definitely made me chuckle a few times in this clip, alone. So I’ll probably check it out.
Take a look at the clip below and let us know if this looks good to you.
If School Dance is showing near you, will you check it out?
“If I Got My Act Together I Would Be Greater Than I Am” : Katt Williams Talks Lessons Learned & His Comedic Comeback
Katt Williams, at his prime, during his hey-day was unstoppable. He was hilarious, he had a bustling movie career and he had to have been making beaucoup bucks touring and selling out shows. But then in 2012, things went far left. Headline after headline about Katt Williams came out. There was the time he lobbed rocks at someone, he punched his female assistant and then most famously the video of him punching a Target employee. And after that crazy year, Katt told a local news team, with tears in his eyes, that he was retiring for comedy.
It was sad but also very clear that he needed to take a break and sit down somewhere for a little bit. But judging from his recent appearance on the Arsenio Hall show, Katt is working on a comeback. But before we start buying tickets, we have to know what the hell happened. Katt sat down with Arsenio recently to talk about the lessons learned and what really happened in that Target video.
See what he had to say in the excerpts below and then take a look at the video.
Do you heckle yourself?
“Understand if you don’t, then you’re not being true to the craft. The craft says that you talk about everybody and to exclude yourself from that is to do a disservice to yourself so I heckle me privately in a way you wouldn’t imagine. Because I’m not a fan of mine. I don’t think I’m the greatest comedian. I don’t think I’m good looking. I don’t think any of that. I think exactly what the facts are. And I think if I got my act together I could be greater than what I am right now. And I think if I mess up, I should be able to fix it and rewrite the ship and get on.
That comes from the DNA we’re born with as Americans. That’s how we get down. We like to take a punch in the face and say ‘Was that it?'”
There was a lesson that I needed to learn. God helps me. If you’re slow, he understands you’re slow. I’m in a weird position as a person in Hollywood anyway because of the amount of truth that I will tell and I take joy in it. There’s no way you can tell that much truth and not offend some portion of the population.”
Katt says that being 5’5 when people approach him on some foolishness, he’s always been accustomed to firing back with his fists. But during that 2012 year, he learned that he could no longer live like that.
“As a professional and as somebody who’s now where I stand. I can no longer do that. Those are just the brakes. They had to bleep it before they showed it, because if you hear what I’m saying, what he’s saying to me, you’d say, ‘Why hasn’t he punched him yet?’ I’m saying but I wasn’t smart enough at the time to realize, this dude is trying to make me punch him. I’m not familiar with that. Where does that come from? Where you want me to punch you for your benefit. And understand, I’m not connected to that. Hey, you can still walk up on me…whatever your intent may be–good or bad.”
Arsenio asks if that man was just trying to get paid.
“Yeah, but he said it standing next to his manager, at the place he worked at, like…but I had never heard the N-word, directed at me with vitrol. And so now, this was a–I use the word too much and I’m realizing as he’s saying it, ‘Oh you think you can say it cuz I say it?’ And so then I explained to him, ‘No you can’t cuz things will happen.’ And he goes, ‘Nothing will happen.”
Why he was riding that scooter…
I had a broken knee cap at the time. It really means I’m trying to cause no problems at all. I’m in the most docile position I can be in, in an injury and you think that that’s sufficient for you to say what you say. But in this life there are consequences. And I’m going to have to face mine and your nose is going to have to face his.
It was clear that Katt didn’t go into too much detail about what he was really going through at that time but he does seem humble and like he’s learned a few things along the way. Check out the video and tell us what you think about this “improved” Katt Williams and the idea of him coming back to comedy.
Katt Williams, comedian extraordinaire, has been anything but shy when talking about his hair. He’s lauded himself as a perm wearing, faux pimp with “luxurious” hair. Let him tell it. Yes, there have been times where Katt’s hair has been fabulous. But there have also been times where his hair, and we’re sure Katt would agree, looked a hot mess. Check out the highs and the lows along the way.
Katt Williams is known for getting into trouble, but it doesn’t take away from the fact that he has a huge heart. The 39-year-old comedian shocked one of his Boston fans, who happens to be wheelchair-bound and in dire need of a kidney transplant, when he invited the woman backstage to meet him following one of his shows. Once she was backstage Katt offered her words of encouragement, $1,000 cash and an autographed note that read:
“God never leaves.”
According to TMZ, Katt learned of the fan’s unfortunate situation when one of his security guards saw her crying in the audience at the conclusion of his show. When the body guard inquired about why she was crying, she insisted that she was releasing tears of joy because she hadn’t laughed in such a long time. She also told him about her current situation. When the security guard informed Katt of what the woman told him, Katt reportedly invited her backstage, which is where he presented her with the monetary gift folded in a sheet of paper.
The woman later told TMZ that she was shocked to find ten 100 dollar bills in the sheet of paper, because she initially thought he’d given her a package full of weed. She described the gift as an “awesome surprise.”
Beyonce is still catching a lot of shade from her Bow Down video — and the fact that she hasn’t released that “Grown Woman” track yet — but she’s not the only celebrity whose fans may be changing teams. These celebs have annoyed, harassed and stood up their fans for so long that they’re finally moving on.
If you’re sick to death of Keyshia’s mouth, you’re not alone. At a recent performance, Keyshia took shots at the audience when they didn’t clap loud enough and they took shots right back.
Here’s what one of Keyshia’s former fans had to say on Twitter:
“This Beyotch MAAAAAAD, the crowd wasn’t rockin hard w/ her she said “At ths point in my career if u not rockin w/ me u can get out” lmaooooo u not Jay-Z or Beyonce ppl ain’t rockin w/ EVERY song. ..Aye my tickets were free soooo umnmm I can say this “Keyshia a rat w/ money” lol her stage presence says “cheese please” lmaooo”
This on top of her Beyonce shade and hesitance to claim being just black are not bidding well for her future in the business.
We all love celebrity gossip and drama. But sometimes, enough is enough. These celebrities have gotten on our last nerves with their nonsense. It’s past time that they get their microphone’s cut off to make room for some fresh celebrity faces.
Good Lord. I honestly don’t know how Vincent Herbert stands it. She drives her sisters crazy, she stays on Twitter with some mess and I know I’m not the only one who’d like to cut her microphone off. There wouldn’t still be a reason to watch The Braxtons without Tamar but I’m cool with that too.
You ever have a moment where your “you so crazy friend” seems really crazy? Some celebrities’ wile-out moments have me worried about their mental health. Sometimes the spotlight sheds some light on your mental deficiencies. Are these celebrities really crazy or just acting a fool for ratings?
Everybody, including celebrities, is allowed an eff up or two, but the people on this list have already maxed out their get out of jail passes –literally—which has landed them a spot right on the, “they just ain’t gone ever act right” list. We’re sure you’re probably as done with these entertainers as we are so the people on this list should not surprise you at all — unless you believe in 45 chances.
Chris Brown belongs on the top of any “Refuse to Act Right” post. Just in case you still haven’t heard, Chris Brown recently cursed out comedienne Jenny Johnson on Twitter. He tweeted that he looked old. She fired back: “Being a worthless piece of s**t can really age a person.”
Instead of remembering how his last few outbursts hurt his career he told her he was going to sh**t in her mouth. Really Breezy? Not only can you not take Chris Brown anywhere, you can’t even let him have a Twitter account.
