Jill Scott, Jennifer Lawrence & The A-Lister Nude Photo Leak: Is It Even Worth It To Take Nude Photos?
Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Arianna Grande, Amber Heard, Victoria Justice, Kim K., Mary E. Winstead, and now songstress Jill Scott are the latest A-list celebrity victims to have their privacy invaded by way of a nude photo leak. More than 100 household names were targeted by hacker thieves, including Gabrielle Union, Keke Palmer and Rihanna, and many more stars sit in fear that they might be next.
It should go without saying that these victims should not be blamed or slut-shamed after being violated and having private photos distributed to the masses against their will. To claim “It’s their fault for taking the picture in the first place” or ask, “What kind of honorable woman takes naked pics?” directly contradicts the reality of female sexuality and denies the common uses of technology for pleasure in today’s society. The only person at fault is the perpetrator/violator. And the punishment for such an egregious and adolescent act should be jail time and a swift and merciless kick to the center of that person’s chest.
The rapid cyber-attacks, possible system-wide breaches and/or individual attacks on personal Apple iCloud accounts have put many on the offensive, and it has forced countless celebrities and non-celebrities, alike, to ask: is it even worth it to take a nip shot for the boyfriend if it means that one day it might end up on the desktop of every perv from here to Cape Town? Couples and lovers must decide if a tawdry photo that’s meant to entice a sexual partner today may be used against them tomorrow.
Revenge porn is real; on a daily basis, thousands of men and women have their rights and privacy violated when a disgruntled ex or perverted stranger takes it upon himself to share unauthorized photos with unintended audiences. Those explicit images can ruin careers, relationships and lives, and it compromises a person’s self-esteem and promotes distrust and self-loathing. Numerous individuals have attempted suicide after such a breach, fearing that they will never live down the shame of the nude images poached and shared on the internet.
Now, individuals have to question if they can trust, not only lovers and friends, but the penetrable technology that’s meant to keep their digital secrets safe. They have to decide if they have enough faith in humanity to share private photos in a click-baiting, technology-driven world that’s hell-bent on making every image a shareable meme.
For those in a relationship, and for many who are not, the answer isn’t so simple. Snapshots of their naked bodies already live on the devices of loved ones, so it isn’t simply a matter of opting not to take anymore nude photos but trusting that ones that already exist won’t ever live outside of a personal photo gallery. And not sending nude photos or videos may be problematic for many couples separated across the country who wish to maintain a sexually intimate connection in lieu of a physical one.
There’s no solution to this problem other than people not being evil human beings. Men and women are going to keep snapping photos of their naked bodies, as they rightfully should. But, the risk is that they’re vulnerable. The human body is nothing to be ashamed of, but considering the weaknesses in the technology that serves the population, many might want to think twice before taking a photo in a tailored birthday suit. What do you say? Do you think it’s worth it to take nude photos?
No one could dispute that being a celebrity certainly comes with privileges, but there’s a downside to everything. Unfortunately, because these stars spend so much time in the limelight, they’ve been the target of negative criticism after being bullied because their weight.
Ke$ha doesn’t fit the stereotype of how the average singer/rapper is supposed to look. Born and raised in Los Angeles, the 27-year-old marches to the beat of her own drum, so when it was revealed that the “Die Young” rapper checked into rehab for an eating disorder earlier this year, fans were shocked. Even worse, her mother revealed that Ke$ha was bullied to lose weight by people within her own inner circle. Soon after checking in, Ke$sha released a statement: “I’m a crusader for being yourself and loving yourself but I’ve found it hard to practice.” She continued that she was aiming “to learn to love myself again. Exactly as I am.”
Nicki Minaj has her hand in quite a few pots these days. When she’s not rapping, she’s putting together a clothing line for Kmart, pushing lines of Moscato and colorful lipsticks, trying her hand at judging reality TV competitions, and now, she’s acting. And we’re not mad at it! Minaj is making the most of her notoriety and talents and that’s always a good thing. The trailer for her upcoming comedy, The Other Woman, was recently released and in it, Minaj plays a colorful (as in real life) and opinionated assistant to Cameron Diaz’s character. Of course, going with the title, the movie follows Diaz’s character as she finds out that a guy she was falling for is actually married (to funny lady Leslie Mann). The playboy is not only married, but he has quite a few other honey dips he’s playing all over the place (including model Kate Upton). Diaz teams up with Mann and Upton to exact revenge against the cheater. Sounds entertaining, right? Well, the trailer definitely looks hilarious. And while Nicki Minaj honestly looks a lot like herself in the scenes we see (what with the alternating wigs), she delivers her lines well. Minaj attended a performing arts school as a teen and actually was cast in an off-Broadway play after high school before focusing on Hip-Hop, so this isn’t her first foray into acting.
The film is directed by Nick Cassavetes and comes out on April 25. Check out the trailer for yourself and let us know what you think!
If you look deep into her eyes, I’m sure you can see that this blonde beauty with her pink pout and furry brows is…Tyra Banks.
Well, it’s Tyra Banks dressed and done up to look like supermodel Cara Delevingne to be specific. The legendary model showed love to New York Fashion Week with a photo project meant to pay homage and impersonate some of Tyra’s good friends and the icons in the business, as well as her “colleagues” and “competition.” In the photo above, the model furrowed her brows, put on a blonde wig and got edgy with her attire in order to impersonate the 21-year-old “it” model, Cara Delevigne. But Delevigne is not the only pretty gyal Banks changed her looks for. She also put on her best mole to show love to Cindy Crawford, and got as wide-eyed as possible to do her best Kate Moss. All in all, Banks did about 15 shots for the project, and according to NewsOne, she also dresses up as Linda Evangelista, Lauren Hutton, Jerry Hall, Iman, Kate Moss, Twiggy, Brooke Shields, Claudia Schiffer, Carmen Dell’Orefice, Kate Upton, and Karlie Kloss. So yeah, as far as the black models goes, she includes two, and Naomi Campbell is not on the list. But of course, those two bumped heads as young models and (as older ones) tried to hash out that drama on Banks’ old talk show so I’m not really surprised at that omission. Check out more images that Banks posted so far of herself as Cara, Kate, and Cindy, and let us know what you think.
Earlier this week rumors swirled that hip-hop bigwig Sean “Diddy” Combs and Sports Illustrated supermodel Kate Upton are involved in a “hot and heavy” whirlwind romance. Sources told Daily News gossip column, Confidential, that the pair were seen making out at club LIV in Miami Beach.
“They were kissing, they weren’t hiding it,” the snitch claimed before going on to say that the two disappeared into VIP and partied together until the wee hours of morning.
Sources also say that the duo were spotted “having dinner” at Gemma in the Bowery Hotel. The story didn’t seem far-fetched, as 43-year-old Diddy seems to have a thing for the youngins and Upton is only a few months shy of her 21st birthday. Diddy, however, came out last night stating that the rumors are false.
Kate also took to Twitter to deny rumors.
A representative on behalf of Upton also denied the rumored love connection to TMZ, saying that the two “barely know each other” and that they aren’t dating.
We imagine Diddy’s long-time rumored girlfriend Cassie Venture is letting out a sigh of relief. The two have been rumored to be carrying on an Ashanti-Nelly styled relationship for the past 5 years. Only last September did Diddy semi-confirm their coupledom when he Instagramed a photo of the singer with a caption that read:
“I’m a very lucky man #knowthat.”
So, what do you think of all of this?
