You’ve got to love a man who doesn’t take himself too seriously to kick back and have a good time. On Monday, Miami Heat players LeBron James and Dwyane Wade attended South Beach Battioke, which is an annual charity event that was held at the Eden Roc Hotel in Miami, Florida. The purpose of the karaoke event was to benefit The Battier Take Charge Foundation, which is an organization founded by Miami Heat player Shane Battier, “dedicated to providing resources for the development and education of underserved youth and teens.”

LeBron and D.Wade had no problem lending their vocal “abilities” for a good cause. Brony, who was clearly the star of the show, opened up as a one-man-act. While belting out Michael Jackson’s “Rock With You”, he was so confident that he even had a routine of uncoordinated dance moves. What was even more impressive is that Bron Bron actually knew all of the words to the song.

Once the crowd went wild over his solo opener, he called for his “back-up singer” and onto the stage walks teammate D.Wade. This is where things got interesting. The duo quickly requested that a chair be brought to the stage and asked for a female volunteer. Once the volunteer was in the chair, the beat to Shai’s “If I Ever” dropped and the two attempted to serenade the blushing contestant with LeBron singing and Dwyane ad-libbing.

I’m not sure why I get such a kick out of seeing these two clown together, but I can’t see anyone not getting a slight chuckle out of this video.

I don’t know when the members of the ’70s rock band KISS became so concerned with Rihanna’s career but they are clearly not fans. At a press conference for the band’s upcoming concert with Mötley Crüe, band frontman Gene Simmons took it upon himself to hype up interest for the show by going in on the popular music acts of today. Here’s what he told the press:

“We’re sick and tired of girls getting up there with dancers and karaoke tapes in back of them. No fake bulls***. Leave that to Rihanna, Shmianna and anyone who ends their name with an A.”

Ok then.

Once Gene got the shade ball rolling, Mötley Crüe’s drummer Tommy Lee decided to add his two cents on the matter in an interview with Billboard.com.

“No disrespect to Rihanna, she’s a great singer, but we’re in a slump for some s*** that has some personality and appeal beyond a bunch of pop stuff that’s floating around out there,” he said. “I’m glad he [Gene] said that actually because I don’t think I can bear watching another f***ing award show that is just a little bit better than “American Idol.” It’s f***ing pathetic to watch people go out and f***ing karaoke with a bunch of lights and video.”

Tell ‘em why you mad.

So far Rihanna’s rep has been unavailable for comment, but I bet Rih Rih is cooking up a nice Twitter thrashing for these band members. Can’t say they’re necessarily wrong, but they didn’t have to put her out there like that.
