Well, these two are wasting no time. Newlyweds Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker recently revealed to In Touch magazine that they’re already trying for a baby!
“We’re trying now for a baby!” Kandi shared. “We haven’t succeeded yet. If it happens today, then we’re good with it.”
Kandi went on to share that her and her new husband are really excited about having kids together.
“We’re really looking forward to having kids together,” she added. “I can’t wait to [have] one big family!”
While we’ve known that Kandi has been wanting a baby for quite some time now, the fact that they’re already trying is huge news—especially considering that the ink has barely dried on their marriage certificate. As you may know, Kandi and Todd tied the knot two weeks ago in a beautiful “Coming to America” themed ceremony. They each parent one child from previous relationships.
We can only imagine what Mama Joyce has to say about this, but we’re super happy for Kandi!
‘She Went So Hard, She Doesn’t Want To Be Wrong:’ Kandi Burruss Shares Why She Thinks Mama Joyce Is Still Anti Todd
When Mama Joyce first began her campaign against Todd Tucker, most of us figured that she was trying to prevent her daughter from making what she perceived to be a terrible mistake. But now that Kandi is officially Mrs. Todd Tucker, we’re kind of wondering why Joyce is still campaigning against him although he’s technically family now. Well, Kandi believes that her mother went so hard against Todd in the beginning that she’s still putting up a fight to save face.
“She’s still not giving him any credit,” the newly married star confessed during an appearance on “Bethenny”. “I’m still trying to figure it out myself. I think at this point, she went so hard, she doesn’t want to be wrong. So maybe she’s just sticking with it.”
Speaking of husbands and marriage, Kandi also spilled on her unusual bachelorette party, which she says Phaedra took to a whole new level.
“She’s always been one to turn up the party. She didn’t do the norm. My friends were like, ‘Are we going to have another male stripper Kandi?’ But this time she went totally left and made if fun. She had a little person come and do some things, an old lady come. It was out of the box, people that you wouldn’t expect to see doing something like that.”
As for rumors that Porsha Williams may be fired from the show for her altercation with Kenya Moore, Kandi says she doesn’t think the fight is a good reason to fire Porsha.
“There was a lot going on, I can’t tell you everything. She was definitely provoked—I would think. If you’re going to let someone go, it shouldn’t be because of that.”
“No one has told me they’re getting rid of Porsha, so I haven’t given my opinion either way. There have been other times where violence was had—whether it’s been NeNe choking Kim or when Sheree pulled Kim’s wig. It’s been other things that have happened that people didn’t get fired for so I don’t think it was fair to do that to her. I feel like everybody on our cast was great this year, as far as the storyline. I want to see everyone go to the next season, even Kenya. I personally, but I don’t know how everyone else feels.”

Just days after Kandi and Todd tied the knot, Mama Joyce came forward and revealed that there was a bit of disharmony between the bride and groom a few days before the wedding because due to Todd’s refusal to sign the prenuptial agreement.
“I got a little pissed at the bridegroom the night before this wedding,” Joyce explained. “He kind of held up on signing the prenup and didn’t come to the rehearsal dinner because he didn’t want to sign it. His mom said she didn’t see no reason for him to have to sign because they were in love. He was the one who didn’t have a damn thing, but that’s another story. But from what I understand, he did sign.”
During a recent interview with the Tom Joyner Show, Kandi admitted that there was an issue regarding the signing of the prenup in the days preceding the wedding, but not for the reason that most of us may have been lead to believe.
“He always said that he would sign it, but I guess after he had met with his attorney they were bringing up stuff that they felt like was unfair. It wasn’t anything to do with the money part. My attorney had added some things that would normally be in a will. Itwas some extra stuff.”
As for Fantasia’s colorful wedding speech, Kandi says people blew it way out of proportion.
“It really wasn’t that serious,” the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star expressed. “I hate that people tried to turn it into something else. It didn’t bother me at all. I was laughing my butt off. I thought it was funny. She had a drink or two, so she was feeling good. She’s supposed to feel comfortable around me. It bothered me that people tried to make more out of it than what it really was.”
Kandi also confirmed rumors that Mama Joyce and Todd’s mom, Miss Sharon, don’t get along so well. Apparently we’ll be able to witness the in-law drama unfold once her Bravo wedding special airs.

My mother can be difficult. Yep, I said it. I’ve said it to her as well. She is set in her ways, not big on compromising, and isn’t a happy camper when I disagree with her. It’s a bit much. Luckily, she doesn’t give my husband a hard time (she saves it all for me) and he is a pretty easygoing guy, so they get along just fine.
Thankfully, I don’t have any horror stories to share about my mother-in-law, either. We get along wonderfully. We tend to agree on things and if we don’t, the disagreement is always respectful. What we have works.
In the last few weeks, I have been watching the Real Housewives of Atlanta while the situation between Kandi, Todd and Mama Joyce unfolds. I have to tell you, in my opinion Mama Joyce is way out of line and Kandi is tolerating too much.
I respect my mother—really, I do. However, I am grown and I don’t see why my mother would ever have a vote when it comes to my life decisions. As a mother, surely she has right to show concern and have an opinion. However, a concerned opinion does not equal a vote—ever.
I think problems between a person and their in-laws often stems from an underlying issue that person’s spouse has with their parent.

One thing’s for sure, reality TV weddings aren’t the same as televised royal weddings, but these weddings are just as entertaining (if not more). Reality weddings are usually filled with much drama before walking down the aisle and many of them have been ratings gold, which means it makes sense for Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker to be the next reality stars to showcase their wedding on the small screen. And we’re sure Mama Joyce will keep fans entertained about her thoughts on the weddings — going back and forth from she’s not going to say anything and hopes she’s wrong to she knows her daughter is making a big mistake and she’ll regret it. Oh brother! But Burruss and Tucker’s big day (and the drama leading up to it) hasn’t been experienced by just them.
Here are 15 other major reality TV weddings filled with tears, love, romance, hilarity and much drama.
The National Enquirer recently reported that Kandi Burruss’ wedding this past weekend was completely ruined by an inappropriate, drunken speech given by fellow singer and bridesmaid Fantasia Barrino.
“Kandi was horrified!” an eyewitness exclaimed to the magazine. “She and Fantasia are close, but this may ruin their friendship.”
The sources adds that Tasia’s speech was riddled with profanity and totally infuriated Kandi’s new husband, Tood.
“Fantasia started by saying, ‘Kandi, you are my m*therf**kin’ friend and I love you,’” the snitch continued. “Then she called Kandi the ‘realest b*tch I know’ and rambled on about her big butt. Todd was furious, and the other bridesmaids got Fantasia to sit down. Thank goodness!”
Reps for Kandi recently commented on Tasia’s wild wedding speech to TMZ and according to the rep, Kandi found it to be hilarious. Apparently the ladies go way back so there’s not much Tasia can do (or say) to offend the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star.
Slowly but surely details of Kandi and Todd’s walk down the aisle are coming together, thanks to an exclusive In Touch Weekly just published. The tabloid is the first mag to release pics of Kandi and Todd’s wedding and we’re starting to see the Coming to America theme shine through.
According to In Touch, that Reco Chapple gown you’re looking at cost a cool $20,000 and featured a 12-foot train. No wonder Kandi said “The whole thing was like a fairy tale!” The Real Housewives of Atlanta stars’ nuptials took place at Atlanta’s Le Fais Do-Do venue in front of a reported 300 guests with walls covered in ostrich-feather fans, which is an amazing feet for just a few weeks of planning. The former Xscape star admitted:
“I didn’t know if I was going to be able to pull this all together. I couldn’t wait around hoping things would get better. I just had to do it and hope for the best.”
Thankfully, that’s exactly what she got — on all fronts. It’s no secret Kandi’s mother, mama Joyce isn’t exactly thrilled with her daughter’s choice of a life partner, but she told In Touch:
“Time will tell if Todd gets my blessing, but if Kandi’s happy, then I need to be happy for her.”
It’s about time she got that through her head. Let’s just hope footage from Kandi’s upcoming wedding spin-off doesn’t show her acting a fool. What do you think of Kandi’s dress?
The wedding is over. Kandi Burruss is officially Mrs. Todd Tucker. However, it appears that her mother, Joyce, is still at odds with her son-in-law. During a recent interview with Radar Online, the reality TV mom explained that the wedding ceremony was beautiful and drama free, but adds that she didn’t utter a word to Todd the entire time.
“I didn’t really pay any attention to him, she revealed. “We didn’t talk.”
Despite her feelings regarding her daughter’s union, Joyce says she was nice during the ceremony.
“I was very nice. It was her decision to make to marry him and she says she’s happy and she didn’t see anything wrong with him so she did it.”
Though there were reports that she exchanged words with Todd’s mother, Sharon, just days before the wedding, Joyce says there was no drama on Kandi’s special day.
“Everyone was very nice and there weren’t any fights,” Joyce explained before referencing a comment made by RHOA co-star Cynthia Bailey that Kandi’s family is always fighting. “Besides what Cynthia says, our family doesn’t fight all the time. It was a very classy wedding and everybody had a nice time.”
While she admits that the ceremony went smoothly, she doesn’t seem to think that Kandi’s marriage will share a similar fate.
“Time will tell, but I only pray that I’m wrong and that they do last,” she said. “But I don’t see how they can.”
Having your mom continuously express doubts about your marriage to media outlets has got to be awful.
At this point we know that there was some sort of altercation that went down between Kenya Moore and Porsha Williams at the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” reunion show taping a couple of weeks ago. However, it’s unclear exactly how severe it was. Since the taping, rumors have been circulating that the “Flatline” singer is in danger of being fired from the show, as Bravo supposedly has some sort of nonviolence policy, which prohibits the ladies from physically attacking one another. Now sources close to production are claiming that the RHOA cast is taking a stand against Bravo executives to protect Porsha.
According to TMZ, the entire cast—with the exception of Kenya—have threatened to leave the show if Porsha is let go over the reunion show altercation. The insider claims that the grand plan was devised while most of the ladies were together this past weekend at Kandi’s wedding. It’s also reported that the ladies are completely fed up with Kenya’s over-the-top antics and her knack for stirring up drama on the set and that NeNe Leakes and Phaedra Parks are actually working to get Kenya fired.
Obviously this is all speculation and it hasn’t even really been confirmed whether or not Porsha’s job is actually in danger. But you know they say, where there’s smoke, there’s fire. So there’s definitely a chance that something is going on here. As always, we’ll keep you posted as this story develops.

Over the weekend we learned that Kandi jumped the broom with her boo thang Todd Tucker and for those of us outside the Real Housewives of Atlanta’s inner circle that was a shocker. Aside from rumors that Kandi would possibly be appearing on a spin-off wedding show for Bravo, details on the singer’s nuptials were scarce, but luckily we caught up with Tiny just in time to get all the juicy details.
In a recent interview, the bridesmaid and former Xscape band member told us:
“I’m excited for her. Kandi is a really good girl and she deserves to be happy. I can’t wait to see her; she’s going to be beautiful.
“She put this wedding together really quick. She tried to do a Tamar thing and Tamar’s wedding came out awesome. It was very quick. She put it together in like two weeks so she’s [Kandi's] doing the same thing.”
No wonder we didn’t know anything about it!
In the interview we also got to talk to Tiny about Mama Joyce and her disapproval of Kandi’s wedding to which Tiny said “Mama Joyce has always been very mild mannered and cool. The only time she gets turned up is when Kandi ain’t doing what the hell she tells her to do.” That sounds about right.
Check out what else Tiny had to say about Mama Joyce and her behavior or Real Housewives of Atlanta” in the video up top. What do you think?
