Cute Kid Alert: Celeb Kids Get Fashion Week Fab, Willow & Jada WORK, And Usher And Girlfriend Take Family Pics (Too Soon?)

So we’re back with another installment of “Cute Kid Alert,” and to start things off on an interesting foot, check out doting dad Usher and his sons Naviyd and Usher Raymond V! The singer snapped a picture while hanging out with his girlfriend, Grace Miguel (lower left) and one of her sons. The pictures were posted on Twitter, and this is just one of many. But interesting enough, this particular photo was tagged as a “Favorite” by Tameka Raymond on Twitter after a follower saw it and said, “@TamekaRaymond is gonna flip the ef out with this!! Was it a little too soon for Usher to post happy-go-lucky pics of his prospective blended family? Maybe, maybe not. But they do look happy!

Speaking of big families (or just average sized actually), Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, along with Willow and Jaden, attended the Toronto International Film Festival dressed to the nines. Jada looked stunning as usual in a backless gown and tall, strappy stilettos, while Willow wore a leopard dress, some embellished boots, a bolero and a gold collar. Somebody’s hair is growing back fast (sans the bright colors this time around). And the guys looked great in their black ensembles as well: Will in his suit, Jaden with his signature confused camera face…

They might not be married anymore, but I’m a big fan of how friendly Kimora Lee Simmons and Russell Simmons are for the sake of their kids. They go everywhere together! Speaking of which, the two fashion titans stepped out for New York Fashion Week with Ming and Aoki for the Charlotte Ronson show. With her stunner shades on and blinged out jacket, Aoki was clearly on full diva mode, while her sister, Ming, opted for a bright and fun look with some cowgirl flair. Look at all that hair!

And may we add, Kimora is looking very svelte and sassy these days.

Speaking of sassy folks, Solange Knowles was also on hand with her son Julez, front row at the Tibi show. They brought along a friend and were full of laughs and silly faces. All look adorable! And as I like to say, the fro is flickin’!

Another fashionista front row at all the big shows last week was June Ambrose. The stylist brought along her daughter, Summer Chamblin, who is a mini fashionista in the making. Check out a few of her different cute and chic looks since Fashion Week started as the two ladies had their last go-round together before Summer started school.

On a sidenote, I love that little Summer keeps her fashionable redheaded doll on deck to stunt in pictures too!

And oh yeah, I just had to share a photo from last year’s New York Fashion Week when the mom and daughter threw on their matching hats and fiercest jackets to check out the newest looks at the time. Little Miss Thing was too cool for school!

And last but not least, Justin Combs took part in his first football game as a UCLA Bruin! Of course, he didn’t get to play (he’s a freshman, so it will be a while), but his mom, Misa, and dad, Diddy of course, were there to support. Check out the video Diddy’s people put together of Justin’s first big game, and all the proud papa words Diddy had to share about Justin and his accomplishments!

Awwwww, proud papa indeed!

Another Hip-Hop Child May Be Headed to UCLA, Snoop’s Son Offered Football Scholarship

Well it’s clear to see where UCLA’s antennas are directed. The university appears to be tired of going after old money, they want to tap into that hip-hop cash cow because after awarding Diddy’s son Justin an unnecessarily controversial full football scholarship, word is they’ve also offered Snoop’s son one.

According to USA Today:

Cordell Broadus, son of rapper Snoop Dogg, received a scholarship offer from UCLA. Broadus will be entering his sophomore year at Diamond Bar High School this fall.

Listed at 6-2 and 185 pounds, he played wide receiver and defensive back for the freshman team last season.

Cordell transferred to Diamond Bar from Long Beach Poly last fall and like UCLA, his coach Ryan Maine told ESPN he likes what he sees so far.

“We’re expecting him to really lead us the next three years. Hopefully get bigger, stronger and keep leading this team.”

Cordell no doubt gets pointers from big snoopy d-o-double-gizzle who coaches how own youth football league. When ESPN asked him how he feels about the paths his older sons are taking—his oldest, Corde, just graduated from Diamond Bar and is headed into the music biz—Snoop said this:

“Both my boys had normal existences. No real drama in the house. No real drama outside. They are all good.”

UCLA is trying to be all good with their hip-hop support too, Cordell still has a few years to make a decision though.

Hey, hey, hey! It’s your favorite post of the week (aside from Evening Eye Candy I’m sure), Cute Kid Alert! Let’s see who was showcasing their beautiful children as of recent.

For starters, we thought it was too cute that proud papa Diddy decided to shout out all his kids who graduated recently. Most folks have been paying attention to the fact that Justin got into UCLA with a huge scholarship and graduated from high school, but who knew Christian graduated from junior high school, and that his daughter Chance just finished kindergarten? The father sent love to his kids via his Twitter account, letting the whole world know about his brood of scholars:

In his tweet for Christian, Diddy said, “Congrats to my twin Christian who graduated from 8th grade going to High School! God’s the greatest!”

For Chance he posted this picture and said, “Congrats to my daughter Chance who graduated from kindergarten! You’re on your way to 1st grade baby”

And for his first-born, Diddy said the following: “Congratulations @JDior_ for graduating from High School!! UCLA here we come!!!”

Vanessa Williams also Tweeted out a picture of some of her kids. The two ladies above are Sasha (her 12-year-old daughter with Rick Fox), and Jillian (her 23-year-old daughter with ex-husband, Ramon Hervey II). For the caption, the proud mama wrote, “My big girls summer in the city…” Big indeed! I would have never looked at Sasha and thought she was 12…

Solange was also seen out and about with her little man, Julez, as they hit up Stella McCartney’s Spring fashion presentation in NYC yesterday. She wore Stella McCartney and looked fabulous, per the usual, and her son was looking very dapper and colorful himself. Awwww, luv these two!

And lastly, Charlize Theron and her son Jackson were seen waltzing around in Cali, hats on deck, and colorful attire in full effect. He looks like a living doll! Glad to see she’s so enamored with her little man…and I can’t wait to see what her shaved head is looking like!

CUTE-NESS!

But via her Twitter, the actress decided to share some personal photos of her growing little man, as well as her gorgeous actual “man,” and the father of Kez, Ime Udoka. Check out her twin and her boo below:

In the midst of all the fuss about scholarships and such, UCLA-bound baby baller Justin Combs graduated from high school! To commemorate the big achievement, he had a huge graduation party with family and friends. Wow, it was just yesterday that this kid was having his “Super Sweet Sixteen” special on MTV. Where does the time go? Check out the graduate with his proud parents (including an affectionate Diddy) below:

Should Justin Combs Really Come Up Off That Scholarship?

June 1st, 2012 - By Brande Victorian

Source: Extratv.com

Diddy’s son Justin is feeling a lot of pressure these days and dealing with backlash that’s totally wrapped up in his race and his wealth, i.e., rich black people problems.

Everyone has an opinion on what the 18-year-old should do with the four-year, $54,000 merit-based (keyword) scholarship he accepted to attend UCLA which has people asking, should he have accepted it in the first place? Should he give it up? Should he donate it? Not to mention, who’s paying for it? But at the end of the day it comes down to one simple fact. Justin Combs, him, himself, and he, earned it all by hard work.

I admit, I was in the donation camp when I first heard the news about his scholarship. I’m pretty sure the ghost of Sallie Mae was haunting my thoughts and all I could think was that he doesn’t really need that money and how cool would it be for another student who will likely have to take out outrageous loans to pay for an education to now have a chance to go to school. Thankfully, looking at comments on the subject from a number of different sites opened my eyes enormously and now I can see I was full-blown trippin.’

The piece I totally missed in this entire discussion and celebration of this young man’s achievement, which has been overshadowed by this scholarship foolishness, is the awesome example Justin is setting for black males, rich and poor alike. If Diddy was our daddy how many of us would be thinking about college? Let along how many of us would have been focused enough to earn a 3.75 GPA while being a star on the football team? That’s not a common story that’s told, especially about black men and no one should try to take away his shine by making him appear to be at fault for working toward academic and athletic excellence and being rewarded for it accordingly. Sure Justin would have likely gone to school for free anyway on his father’s dime, but Diddy didn’t get Justin into school, Justin got himself into school—for free—and I think he’s an amazing example of self-determination and a young man who, as his mother said, “is his own man,” and who will “earn his way through life.” How many rich kids out there can say the same? Certainly not the ones we always talk about in media headlines.

Perhaps it’s the fact that the university had used more than $2 million from student fees to cover an athletic department funding gap the year before that has everyone in a tizzy, but what does that have to do with Justin? Why is this boy in some ways being punished for excelling simply because of who his father is? As many people have pointed out, is this type of fuss ever made over the children of white CEOs and businessmen who could easily afford to pay for their kid’s education but don’t because their children excelled in the classroom and earned free rides. Why is Justin any different?

With the taxpayer nonsense killed thanks to a statement from UCLA that reinforced the fact that this scholarship is merit- and not needs-based, people really need to let this go. I feel like this discussion has grown to the level of Obama’s birther debate and people won’t be satisfied until they find some sort of way to take away from the success of a black man and it’s just not fair. Justin needs to be allowed to have his moment and to say when all was said and done that he put himself through college. If he wants to donate his scholarship to someone else, I think that’s amazing. And if he doesn’t that’s amazing as well. We should demand nothing more from him then we do other men from wealthy backgrounds who earn scholarships the same as he did. And when we see a man exceed expectations like this, we should celebrate it without reservation.

What do you think about the Justin Combs scholarship debate? Is there any merit to it?

We know all about Swizz Beatz’s sons, but have you had the chance to see his daughter, Nicole? The little girl is his daughter with singer/producer/actress Jahna Sebastian.  Nicole turned four on May 22, and to commemorate his daughter’s big day, he wished her happy birthday on Twitter: “Happy Bday to my Lil Queen #blessings :) #daddylove.” MAN, if Swizzy doesn’t have the strongest genes of all time…But anywho, check out photos the producer posted of his Minnie Mouse loving little one.

Nicole isn’t the only one who recently celebrated a birthday though. The daughter of another producer just turned 14! She is Shaniah Cymone Mauldin, the child of iconic producer Jermaine Dupri. He gushed on Twitter about his number one girl: “It’s my baby @shaniahcymone 14th birthday, omg !! I can’t believe it,I ❤u with all my ❤ Happy Birthday.” I remember how tiny this young lady used to be from her days posing with her pop in Apple Bottoms’ ads (the line for kids of course). These kids grow up so fast these days I tell ya…

And of course, we had to showcase Justin Combs (Diddy’s son with Misa Hylton) going off to prom recently. Diddy’s first-born son also just graduated from high school and is off to UCLA on a football scholarship in the fall, so big ups to him! The 18-year-old cutie went to prom in style, riding in a luxurious Rolls-Royce, and he took a very beautiful date who wore a vintage Gucci gown (though I must say, she looks MUCH older than 18, but whatever…). Check out photos of the very grown Justin getting ready and going off to dance the night away/stunt at prom.
