In its annual rankings of the world’s (read:America’s) most powerful celebrities, Forbes determined that Jennifer Lopez is the most influential person in show business today. I know she’s sitting pretty as an American Idol judge these days but being ranked as the most powerful celebrity in the world? I beg to differ. J.Lo’s music and style have very little influence in pop culture, relatively speaking.

The fourth ranked celebrity, Rihanna, makes much more sense. Although her records always struggle to gain a foothold on the pop charts, it’s no question how much her style choices weigh in on popular demand and taste. Although we see much less of Oprah these days, as she’s not actively picking books and her favorite things on her past wildly popular show, the cable CEO is ranked second. She’s still raking in the dough big time although OWN is in debt. She reportedly made $165 million in the last year.

The lowest-earning celebrity to crack the top ten list is Kim Kardashian. The fake reality star made $18 million and ranked number 7 on the list even though it seems that everyone seems to love to hate her family.

What does it mean to act like a lady but think like a man? There are a myriad ways to respond to that question. Maybe it involves putting your career and business before a relationship. Or maybe it means downplaying the rules that govern how women are supposed to act when it comes to dating.  These following women definitely defy the stereotype of the typical female. Madonna is the quintessential alpha female and has definitely upped the standards for women in the entertainment industry.  and the A-type personality of a woman who pushed herself into world domination as a pop star. She gets what she wants and she knows how to do it with panache and finesse. And, oh yeah, her romantic life definitely reflects a woman in charge. She’s been married twice and after her last divorce from Guy Richie, she didn’t slow down her romantic life. The 53-year-old is dating 24-year-old dancer Brahim Zabat. How’s that for thinking like a man!

Try as you might, you can’t always save your friends from making a bad mistake, especially when it comes to men. Sure, everyone fumbles through life and love and you never claimed to be a marriage guru, but sometimes your girl can be so head over heels in love that she misses the most obvious red flags.

A celebrity is no different, except of course, her missteps are put on blast. Watching an odd couple tie the knot is like watching a train wreck from a distance: scary, exciting and a guilty form of entertainment. The next seven women were clearly delusional when they said, “I do.” And by delusion, I mean romantically intoxicated.

For many, penning hits and creating music is just a far fetched dream on par with the fantasy of becoming an international pop star. Sure, songwriting is not a common occupation but for those who are focused and who have a knack for words, it is possible.

Songwriter Makeba Riddick started seeing her dreams come to life by the age of 20, when the song she wrote for Jennifer Lopez “All I Have” hit number one on the charts. Since then, the trained musician has been living a pretty charmed life as a songwriter, having gone on to write more hits for the likes of Beyonce, Rihanna, and Fantasia. TAP correspondent Brandi Fowler caught up with the Roc Nation singer and songwriter to talk about how she broke into the business and how she maintains her craft.

From the plethora of music videos to other media images featuring women with hefty rears, we’ve safely concluded one thing about black men: They love, and are in some ways obsessed, with big butts.

While this statement may hold some truth, black men’s obsession with big butts may not be as much of an obsession as some think. Sure, most men may like a woman with a round derriere; but the more mature and conscious a man becomes, the more he realizes that a woman needs to have more than a ‘big butt and a smile’ to keep him satisfied.
