At this point in Jim and Chrissy’s relationship, we’re almost as invested in the pair walking down the aisle as they are. We were first introduced to Jim Jones and Chrissy Lampkin as a couple on Love & Hip-Hop New York back in 2011 when Chrissy popped the question to the dipset rapper, and since then we’ve been waiting for the two to make things official.
After a VH1 spinoff, Jim & Chrissy, the two still failed to make it down the aisle but with their new WeTV show, Vow or Never, we’re more hopeful than ever that the pair will finally become husband and wife. Watch as Jim and Chrissy explain what’s taken so long for them to jump the broom and how they feel about people saying they’ll never be husband and wife.
Third Time’s The Charm? Vow Or Never To Showcase Chrissy & Jim Jones’s Last-Ditch Effort To Tie The Knot
If at first you don’t succeed, try a third reality show and see if that will get folks down the aisle.
Chrissy Lampkin and Jim Jones are back. After dealing with drama with other people and within their relationship on “Love and Hip Hop” and trying to make things work on “Chrissy & Mr. Jones,” the couple of 11 years are giving it another go with reality TV — oh, and this whole marriage thing.
In their new WEtv show, Jim & Chrissy: Vow or Never, we see the couple finally trying to plan a wedding after their engagement went from on-again to off-again and back. In the preview, all sorts of things seem to be holding them back from “doing the damn thing” as they say. From Mama Jones (yes, she’s back too) saying she doesn’t think the pair is ready to be married, to Jones asking them to push their date back, and folks not showing up for planning meetings. One minute they’re excited and talking about tying the knot “for the whole world to see,” the next Lampkin is breaking down in tears over the stress of their situation. I’m not sure if the pressure of still talking about this issue on national TV will finally get them married, but the fact that they’re still going back and forth about all of it, knowing they both exchanged proposals already (she popped the question in 2011, he gave her a ring in 2012), has to be tiring. And Jones saying things like this on social media probably doesn’t help:
Either way, you can see where things go for this couple when Jim & Chrissy: Vow or Never premieres on September 1 at 10/9 c on WEtv.
One song can make or break an artist’s career. The right song can put them on the map, but the wrong song can send them to court, which was the case with these artists sued over their songs.
The Notorious B.I.G.
Even though he’s been dead for almost two decades, The Notorious B.I.G. still isn’t exempt from being sued over his music. Lee Hutson, former lead singer of The Impressions, is suing Biggie’s estate over the alleged illegal use of one of his songs. Hutson accuses the Brooklyn rapper of using a sample of “Can’t Say Enough About Mom” in his 1994 song “The What” featuring Method Man and he only noticed it two years ago. Bad Boy Records filed a pre-emptive claim a few days before Hutson saying any claim about a sample is past the statute of limitations. Negotiation between the two sides broke down and it looks like the suit will be headed to court.
Most serious relationships head down the aisle toward matrimony within a respectable two-five-year period, but these celebrity couples have decided Nevuary 1st is a more ideal wedding date. Here are 15 celebrity couples we’re more than sure will never he Mr. and Mrs., despite some of them trying to convince us otherwise.
The Game and Tiffney Cambridge
The Game popped the question to actress and model Valeisha Butterfield, the mother of his first child, but they never made it down the aisle. After falling for elementary school teacher Tiffney Cambridge, The Game became a father two more times. Despite their on and off relationship, the California rapper once again got down on bended knee and proposed to Cambridge. The couple was the star of their own reality show “Marrying The Game” for two seasons but after wedding bells failed to ring, The Game and the mother of his two children called it quits earlier this year.
Lately there’s been a lot of attention cast on the celebrity men who dip out their spouses or girlfriends for a little loving on the side but there’s little mention of the men who stay faithful – or at least appear to be… Here’s our list of 15 faithful celebrity men who we never hear cheating rumors about.
Barack Hussein Obama was sworn in as the 44th U.S. president on January 20, 2009 but long before he was known as the first Black leader of the Free World, he was a husband to wife Michelle. The two met when Michelle was assigned to mentor a young Barack, who was a summer associate. Their first date was a trip to the theater to catch Spike Lee’s Do The Right Thing and ever since the couple wed in October of ’92, Barack has done the right thing by his wife. They have two daughters together and while he has probably the most stressful job in America, the President and his First Lady appear to be just as in love living in the White House as the day they got married.
We’ve all been guilty of letting our tempers get the best of us at one time or another but these stars clearly have anger issues and were forced to attend management classes to get their emotions in check.
Chris Brown virtually grew up in the public limelight and was one of R&B’s brightest stars until he assaulted Rihanna in 2009. Since then Brown has had a hard rehabilitating his image and his anger issues certainly aren’t helping. After a string of arrests for assault and hit and run charges, Brown decided to be proactive and seek help for his anger issues. But he left treatment early after going into a fit of rage and a judge ordered the “Don’t Judge Me” singer back to anger management for 90 days and to be subject to random drug testing.
Now we all know former Chrissy Lampkin is a bit rough around the edges, but this is a lot—even for her.
According to TMZ the former “Love & Hip Hop” star was arrested early Sunday morning for allegedly engaging in a bar fight that left her opponent battered and bloody. The incident reportedly occurred at a New Jersey bar around 2:30 am. Witnesses claim that the altercation occurred after the woman sat on a sofa that Chrissy was sitting on and bumped into someone. We’re not quite sure how something so simple escalated into a brawl; however, since the fight is said to have occurred at a bar, we’ll assume that the liquor was flowing freely. So we’ll blame it on the alcohol—for now.
Chrissy was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and disorderly conduct. Her alleged victim was taken to a nearby hospital where she received stitches above her eye. Chrissy was later released from police custody after her fiancé and “Chrissy and Mr. Jones” co-star, Jim Jones, bailed her out. Oh, and in case you were wondering if the fight was some sort of reality TV producer-concocted scheme to boost ratings, the answer is no. According to reports, there were no TV cameras around at the time of the incident.
Chrissy and Jim have yet to comment on the alleged incident.
Nothing says I love you and we’re in it for the long haul like a tattoo right? Even if you’ve been in a relationship for about 10-plus years and have yet to make it down the aisle. That’s the case with Chrissy and Jim Jones who has some new interesting art on his right forearm.
VH1’s blog just noticed the new ink on the Harlem rapper when he stopped by their office to talk about his style. The staff couldn’t help but notice the face of a beautiful young lady on the inside of his arm which just happens to be that of his long-time girlfriend and now fiancee, Chrissy Lampkin. Anyone who has followed “Love & Hip-Hop New York” knows the story of “Chrissy and Mr. Jones,'” as they’re known by on their reality show spinoff. After being together for years, Chrissy decided to pop the question to Jimmy herself and after he accepted he returned the favor a season later and surprised Chrissy with a rock of her own and a surprise proposal.
Two seasons into their own reality show, marriage still doesn’t seem to be too near and when we talked to Chrissy and Jim a few weeks back, Chrissy gave us a wedding date of “Nevuary 1st.” One thing that’s for sure is the tattoo Jim got a year-and-a-half ago isn’t going anywhere. Hopefully the same can be said for their relationship.
What do you think of Jim’s tattoo?
I’ll be real and say, I’m not a huge fan of Jim Jones…his music or his reality tv persona. He’s just always struck me as a jerk. And even though, he’s certainly not my fave, I can’t help but appreciate the way he seems to interact with his son in the new Chrissy and Mr. Jones Supertrailer. It’s quite heartwarming. And the most life I’ve seen from Jimmy, as Chrissy calls him, in a long time.
Aside from the adorable father son love, we watch as Chrissy and Jim go through their ups and downs. In the trailer, she says they’ve just come through a rough patch. Chrissy tries to establish her own business, though she seems to want to do so under the “Vampire Life” umbrella. And Mama Jones does a photo shoot for her new relationship book. Ya’ll know any and everybody is a relationship expert these days.
Looks like it’s going to be a hoot.

Back in July we told you that one of reality TV’s favorite couples, Chrissy Lampkin and Jim Jones, would definitely be returning to VH1 for season two of their show, Chrissy and Mr. Jones. While news of the show being picked up for a second season wasn’t totally surprising, what is surprising is that they’ll be returning with a new addition: Jim’s 10-year-old son, Joseph Guillermo III aka Pudy.
“Jim’s son Pudy moved in with us. I have a 10-year-old now!” Chrissy excitedly exclaims during the show’s Season 2 trailer.
While it will certainly be interesting to see Jim and Chrissy adjust to having a child in their home, it will also be interesting to see whether or not Chrissy’s tumultuous relationship with her soon-to-be mother-in-law, Mama Jones, has improved at all. Though, we’d be quite surprised if it has.
“The Joneses are out of their minds… It’s funny that Nancy is writing a book on love and romance when she tried to f*** mine up.”
The trailer doesn’t indicate whether or not Chrissy and Jim plan on actually tying the knot anytime soon, but it’s apparent that Chrissy is seeking to become more independent the season. And guess who will be the one to coach her through it? None other than Waka Flocka’s mama, Deb Antney.
“No more hiding. No more excuses for Chrissy being Chrissy,” Deb says.
This season looks pretty promising, especially with adorable little Pudy being added to the mix. The ratings, however, will tell the real story.
