Last week while waiting for a friend at Newark International Airport, rapper-turned-reality star Jim Jones was approached by a police officer who claimed he smelled marijuana coming from the Harlem M.C.’s vehicle, TMZ reports.

The way the story is being told, not long after the first officer approached Jim, three more officers joined him. They are said to have then ordered him to step out of his vehicle and place both hands on the trunk of his car. Officers then ransacked the car in search of drugs and contraband, in addition to giving the Chrissy & Mr. Jones star a thorough pat down.

Their seemingly unwarranted search turned up empty. One officer wrote Jim a citation for driving without a license and then officers left the scene.

“He was searched for nothing more than racial profiling,” a representative on behalf of Jones told TMZ.

The rep also revealed that Jim is furious over what happened. A spokesperson for the New York/New Jersey Port Authority expressed that they will be looking into the incident.

If you’re still wearing cornrows on a consistent basis in 2013, I’m not saying you’re dead wrong, but you might want to think about letting all that go. How about a haircut? Locs? Hell, even Snoop Dogg had to move on to a new style at some point. In all honesty, we all have sat in someone’s chair or between someone’s legs and let them give us an Alicia Keys makeover circa 2001. And maybe we didn’t look as good with them as we thought we did (I for one have a head too damn large for that look and learned that it wasn’t for me with the quickness…), but at least nobody had to see them but a few of our friends and family. Sadly, we all had to see these celebs and their braid fails over the years, and while some tried to hold on as long as they could, they all eventually left the style behind…Good move.

And to think, I’ve never looked at Miguel as anything but the guy with the great voice who sings “Sure Thing” and “Adorn,” the new baby-making jams. But who knew he had a body like this? The singer showcased his very well put together biceps and triceps, and a nice set of abs that I think we can all appreciate. Heeeeey Miguel!

It happens more than we think, especially when a man gets a makeover, grows some nice muscles we didn’t see coming and puts some Chapstick on (I was kidding on that last one, but it does help!). I guess if you’ve been a ride or die fan of Nas since Illmatic, you probably picked up on the fact that Nas is more than just a man who can rhyme very well, he’s a FINE man who can rhyme very well. I think it was just the very baggy clothes and the ruggedness back then that had some scratching their heads when other women would squeal, “GIRL, Nas is FINE!” But the older he gets, the more we hear that voice, the more we can’t help but wish we knew Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones a little better outside of the music. And granted, we’re not fans of the way things fell apart with Kelis, but that still doesn’t take away from the fact that those lips are a gift. Man oh man…

Here at Madame Noire, we’re split about our feelings for Chrissy and Jim Jones. I myself am #TeamChrissy and like her very frank take on the world. I love the way she goes from doting fiancé to super-righteous friend/frenemy. Anyone notice that she doesn’t take out any aggression on her boo Jim Jones? The other half of Madame Noire is none too pleased about how extreme she gets when she’s sticking to the other women of Love & Hip Hop. You either love her or you hate her apparently. Now that Chrissy and Jim Jones have the spotlight, it should be interesting to observe the fuller dynamics of their relationship. Lord knows that VH1 needs it now that Evelyn and Chad’s show has been halted.

Last week we told you that the reality show, “Chrissy & Mr. Jones” is going to replace the now defunct “Ev & Ocho.” In the process, we also showed you a clip from the upcoming series, which will showcase the lives of Chrissy Lampkin and rapper Jim Jones outside of their “Love and Hip Hop” friends (and enemies) as they try to build said lives together. In it, we saw the couple discussing Chrissy’s hopes to put baby plans on hold, and Jim’s (and Mama Jones’) disappointment at her choice. In the longer clip that has been released, we see what a full season will be like, and it includes more baby drama, relationship drama (it looks like Chrissy moves out!), and some shots of SOMEBODY’S wedding. I won’t directly assume it’s Chrissy and Jimmy’s, but after all the fuss she made over getting engaged, it would be nice if they could knock some nuptials out quickly. Anywho, check out the full trailer from their upcoming season and let us know if you’re excited to watch their drama unfold. And yes, we know that with Chrissy there can be nothing but that. If you’re down for the clowning and the love fest, you already know where to catch the show, and it premieres on Sept. 24. at 9:30/8:30c.

Net Monday Chad and Evelyn’s 30-minute reality show, “Ocho and Ev” was supposed to premiere on VH1. We all now why that’s since been cancelled, but the good news (or even better news to some of you non-fans) is VH1 is replacing the show with a different one about another one of the network’s interesting couples, Chrissy and Jim Jones.

If you caught the “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” reunion Monday night then you might have already peeped the teaser for the new show, “Chrissy and Mr. Jones.” Though the episodes won’t start rolling until September 24, the show will fit nicely into VH1′s Monday night fall lineup, debuting in the 9:30 pm time slot after “Basketball Wives LA” and “T.I. and Tiny: The Family Hustle.”

Unlike the “he won’t put a ring on it” dilemma that characterized the couple on the New York version of “Love & Hip-Hop,” since Jim did finally propose, the spin-off will capture how Jim and Chrissy are settling into the newly engaged life and apparently planning, or at least thinking about having a baby. Sounds like another race against the clock— and of course Mama Jones is up in the mix.
