Once Monroe and Morocco were welcomed into the world, the “Butterfly” singer went to work right away to lose the baby weight. Because she gave birth via Cesarean, Carey was unable to exercise right away. The current “American Idol” judge signed on to be the spokesperson for Jenny Craig and ended up dropping 70 lbs. in six months. “I realize that 90 percent of losing weight is my diet,” Carey said in an interview with Shape magazine about how she lost the extra pounds.

Greetings Noirette stylistas and fashionistas! To be honest with you, this hasn’t been the most exciting week for fashion. For the most part, a lot of celebs flew overseas to London and thought they’d make their best fashion statements there. Most folks were caught out looking underwhelming, but these four celebrities wore fits that at least caught our eye and kept our attention. Time to figure out if they stood out for being hot or a hot mess. Let’s get started.

Hey hey now! Kelly Rowland attended the Glamour Women of the Year Awards in London this week where she picked up a “Woman of the Year” accolade for being “Best TV personality.” She stunned on the red carpet in this black and white Maria Grachvogel dress. The halter dress was a sleek number that gave the singer/TV personality the chance to showcase her toned arms. She kept the hair straight and sleek as well, wore a simple bangle with a few rings and large hoops and showed folks how to do the statuesque look to a T. Loving the dress, loving the hair (though I probably would have worn it up), and she just looks all around fab. Check out the back too! Steal.

It was New York City’s biggest night in fashion as the stars hit the “Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations” Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art last night. All kinds of materials and looks made their way on the red carpet from our favorite folks, and we’ve got a quick look back on all the hot pieces and the stars that wore them.

Talk about a stunner! Bey came through (sans Jay-Z) in this black see-through gown with a gorgeous black and purple train. All the detailing on this one, including the stones, the feathers, and all that mesh (her hands even seem to be covered in it), just make this a jaw-dropping stunner. Shout out to the good folks at the house of Givenchy for this look.

1. Joe DiMaggio

Possibly the most famous athlete-celebrity pairing of all time, and perhaps the one that set the stage for all those to follow, was the marriage of baseball great Joe DiMaggio and Hollywood superstar Marilyn Monroe. Although they were only married for a short time in 1954, their love affair marks one of the first athlete and meja celeb couples.  The sweet part is that although they divorced in 1954, DiMaggio re-entered her life in 1961, spawning rumours that the two were an item again.  After Monroe died of an apparent overdose in 1962, DiMaggio sent a half-dozen roses three times a week to her headstone until his death in 1999. Aww!

Some call it snap-back, others call it good genes, and there are those of us that know it’s all about hard work. Celebrities seem to have an easier time bouncing back into shape with their flexible schedules, access to the best trainers, gyms and meal plans, but once in a while there’s a “real mom” who has to put in real time and effort to feel and look like herself again.
