Love can blossom anywhere. For most actors and celebrities, love usually springs forth with a fellow star but these 15 celebs bucked Hollywood trends and married ordinary people.

Proving that Cupid can strike anywhere, Matt Damon was on location in Miami in 2003 to film the movie Stuck On You. While visiting a local bar one night, Damon would meet the love of his life, Luciana Barroso, behind the counter. Damon made his move on the single mother of one. Two years later they were married. Now the couple has four daughters. In an interview with UK’s “The Guardian,” Damon gushed about “My wife is my soul mate. I can’t imagine being without her.”

Studies have shown that the chances of an affair turning into a long-lasting relationship are roughly one in 100, but these 15 celebrities have beaten the odds by settling down with their secret lovers. Who’d a thunk it?

Prince Charles first met Camilla Parker Bowles in 1970 at a polo match. Though they dated for a little while, both the Prince of Wales and Bowles went on to marry other people. Prince Charles’s fairytale marriage to Princess Diana was thoroughly publicized. So was their divorce and his extramarital affair with Bowles, who he began secretly seeing again in the 80’s. After his divorce was finalized in 1996, Prince Charles and Bowles kept their relationship out of the limelight, finally tying the knot in 2005.

Unlike those celebrities who are allergic to being single and boo up with the first man they can find, these women seem to genuinely just want love with their true soul mates. They want the prince charming. The fairy tale. The happy ending. But sadly, they just haven’t gotten it. These are the women whose relationship success we’re rooting for, because God knows they’re trying hard enough for it.

Garcelle Beauvais

There’s no worse feeling than betrayal, and after discovering that her husband of nine years had been having an affair with “some sl*t in Chicago,” as she called her, for five of those said years, Garcelle had to be feeling pretty crappy. And considering that this was her second marriage (her first ended no better), I’m sure that didn’t make things any easier either.

The next Lifetime movie will be an A-list actor, star-studded event, including a couple of our favorites, Academy Award winners Jennifer Hudson and Octavia Spencer. The film, Call Me Crazy: A Five Film tells five interwoven stories each dealing with a type of mental illness. In addition to Hudson and Spencer, the film will also star Melanie Griffith, Chelsea Handler and Ashley Judd and Jennifer Aniston will be behind the camera acting as one of the film’s executive producers. Here’s what she had to say about the project:

“When we started researching this topic, we were all surprised to learn that one in four adults lives with some sort of mental illness. With so many people dealing with this in their private lives, there is still so much stigma and shame. It’s time we bring it out of the closet and into the light of day.”

In the first of the five films, a law student is shocked to learn she is living with schizophrenia. Octavia Spencer will play a psychotherapist in this film. In the second, a teenage daughter is struggling to help her mother living with bipolar disorder. The third film, a comedy, lightens the mood as a family adjusts to  a daughter returning home from an inpatient treatment center. In the fourth, a comedian is suffering from depression. And in the last, a female solider, played by Jennifer Hudson, returns from war to a husband and son and has to adjust to life living with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD.)

It sounds like a whole lot but Lifetime has never been known to shy away from the tough, touchy issues and mental illness is far too prevalent to be ignored.

The Lifetime movie will air on Saturday, April 20 at 8pm.

Mike Tyson took a trip down memory lane recently, revealing he was ”mad as hell” when he caught a then unknown Brad Pitt in bed with his ex-wife Robin Givens during their divorce in the late 80s.
