Two months ago, right around Valentine’s Day, we reported that Vanessa Simmons and her boyfriend Mike Wayans welcomed their new baby girl, Ava Marie Jean Wayans, into the world.
And while she’s posted pictures of little Ava’s shoes and crib, and the back of her head, we have yet to see a picture of her full face until today.
The new mom took to Instagram to share a new pic of her precious princess sleeping.
She captioned it: “My Love My Life Ava Marie 2 months”
Awwww! So cute! And take a look at those eyelashes!

VP Joe Biden joined Instagram yesterday and clearly he’s got a knack for it. He’s already posted the greatest selfie since the greatest celebrity selfie ever at the Oscars. And, knowing that we all love Uncle Joe and his wacky brand of cool, he posted this gem below, with his aviators.
The caption on that one: “Vice President Biden’s getting ready to head to Pennsylvania with President Obama this afternoon, where he’ll lay out steps we can take to train America’s workers with the skills they need for good middle-class jobs. Follow @VP for the latest from the Vice President, and the occasional aviators pic.” We’ll have more about that trip today as well.
Already, the Vice President has more than 61,000 followers.
We’re seeing more of the VP in the past week than we’ve seen in a while. Besides the appearance in Pennsylvania, he was also in Boston for the memorial service of the marathon bombing.
“America will never ever ever stand down. We are Boston. We are America. We respond. We endure. We overcome. And we own the finish line,” he said at one point in a speech that we’ve heard people applaud for its poignancy.
President Obama also fielded a question on CBS This Morning about whether he would support VP Biden if he ran for President in 2016. So the additional IG presence could be an attempt to draw more followers in preparation for a run for the White House. CBS’ White House correspondent Major Garrett says Biden “clearly” has intentions of running again though, when asked, Biden himself hasn’t said that.
“If I absolutely knew I wasn’t going to run or I absolutely knew I was, there’s nothing I’d do differently over the next seven, eight, 10 months,” Biden told CBS. “But that decision hasn’t been made, for real, and there’s plenty of time to make that. We have a lot of work to do between now and November.”
And as for the President’s endorsement, he says, “I’ve got somebody who I think will go down as one of the finest vice presidents in history, and he has been … a great partner in everything that I do. I suspect that there may be other potential candidates for 2016 who have been great friends and allies. Whoever the Democratic standard bearer is, is going to be continuing to focus on jobs, making sure that our kids are getting a great education, making sure that we’re rebuilding prosperity from the middle class out in this country – and I am very much interested in making sure that some of the stuff we’ve gotten started continues.”
That’s a great non-answer. In the meantime, enjoy the Vice President’s IG feed.

How Instagram Led To A New Job For One Woman & How Social Media Is Becoming Vital To The Hiring Practice
People are generally concerned about potential employers checking out their Instagram pages, what with embarrassing party pictures and all-too-personal status updates. But the social media platform may help you land a job as well.
Instagram is actually becoming vital to the hiring process, especially if you are in a creative field, reports Fast Company. People are using Instagram to show off their creative skills instead of opting for the more traditional portfolio.
This recently worked for one woman. Bradford Shellhammer, Fab co-founder and BackCountry creative director, hired designer Hannah Perinne Mode after being impressed by her Instagram feed. Mode, who opened her Instagram account about 2 1/2 years ago, now works as a creative manager and design lead at the consultancy Shellhammer.co, reports Business Insider.
Mode used Instagram to start her “Drawing a Day” project, which led to her hire.
“Instagram is a great way for me to share that visual component of my life, and not everything that I put out is a masterpiece by any means and it was a really good lesson to learn how to create things for the sake of creating,” said Hannah. “It is really helpful for me because I’ve had a lot of people contact me based on that project… I’ve had a lot of clients starting to ask me more for the hand drawn feeling in a way that I hadn’t experienced before. Even though I didn’t intend for it to be a way to get work, it’s sort of a pleasant consequence of it.”
Instagram provided her with a way to showcase her skill and her portfolio to those who would be interested. The same can be said for Pinterest, which is the perfect place to show off your fashion design skill, your culinary prowess, or any other creative passions you may have.
“You Are A Disgusting Heartless Human Being”: Cassie Blasts Blogger Sandra Rose For Negative Comments
Cassie is sick and tired of being sick and tired of people talking crazy about her. She took to Instagram recently to call out blogger Sandra Rose about comments she made about Cassie being physically ill recently. The singer was dealing with a stomach bug and congestion and shared her home remedy with her Instagram followers, which included mixing Gypsy Cold Care tea, ginger tea and Makuna Honey together. Seems harmless, right?
Well, Rose posted on her site about this sickness Cassie was dealing with, and decided to compare Cassie to socialite Peaches Geldof, who just passed away this month at the age of 25. The cause of her death is still unknown. Not sure where the connection comes in just because Cassie wanted to make a home remedy, but this is what Rose said:
Nurses and doctors study long hours burning the midnight oil for years just so we can earn a professional degree that tells a state we are qualified to be licensed. Then along comes clueless folk like pseudo singer Cassie Ventura who has been sick for 3 days with Ebola-like symptoms. Instead of going to see a doctor, she calls Boomqusiha from around the way who advises her to swallow a concoction of herbs, plants, citrus fruit and marijuana seeds to cure what ails her. Then we wonder why young people like Peaches Geldof suddenly drop dead? #RIP.
Cassie spotted this and couldn’t hold her tongue. She took to Instagram to say this to and about the blogger:
@sandrarose … A friend of mine sent me a bulls**t article you wrote about me today. At first I laughed it off as always but then, at the end, you compared me taking care of my sickness to Peaches Geldof passing this week, asif that’s my fate (God rest her soul). YOU are disgusting. THE POOR GIRL JUST PASSED!! Let her rest in Peace and don’t wish death on me. You are not a journalist. You are an angry little girl or old maid, who knows? I’m assuming you aren’t getting paid and maybe that’s why you sound so angry?? If you are getting money off of that over opinionated blog, someone needs to start a petition for you to no longer have a job. When I looked through more of your posts I realized that you just sound like you’re PMSing or maybe it’s menopause Whatever it is, I think it’s in your best interest to go see someone about it and keep my name off of your disgusting blog. What really f**ked me up was the fact that on your twitter you brought up @dkbwear who just passed as well, it wasn’t that you reported it, it was your delivery. YOU ARE A DISGUSTING HEARTLESS HUMAN BEING and all I can do is pray for you. How sad it is that you choose to live in such a negative light. I always ignore the bulls**t but you touched on some topics that are just so wrong. You don’t deserve an opinion about society anymore. Next time I see you lingering in Atlanta club like a creeper, I’ll tell you to your face.
Sadly, Cassie aimed wrong on Instagram, tagging an innocent bystander instead of the actual blogger Sandra Rose…but you get where she was going with this.
What do you think of Cassie’s response to the post?
Some parents have let social media “celebrity” go to their heads.
Nearly every day it seems there’s a new Vine, Instagram or YouTube video of black children behaving badly. Even worse, several videos of the little ones appear as if they were filmed by adults, parents at that.
From contextual M-F bombs, to more sophisticated, simultaneous air-grabbing, head-bobbing and complex sentencing – these kids are being urged to illustrate poisonous behavior on-camera.
While these parents may see viral posts as funny, entertaining and, possibly, profitable – they’re not. In fact, filming children behaving in such ways only encourages further inappropriate behavior. Rather than pulling out cameras, parents should be focused on capitalizing on teachable moments.
This is particularly true of the three year-old boy pleading his case to his mother, Linda, who, on several occasions, he called by her first name. “Linda! Linda! Listen to me,” he says in the video, speaking over her.
Disrespect isn’t cute. And, when unchecked, it extends and gets worse over time. Cursing and hand gestures get involved, and before you know it, there’s a 5-year-old girl with beads in her hair verbally assaulting others.
Victims of adult stupidity, these children become beacons of ratchetness, forever etched in the cloud. Personifications of long-held stereotypes.
As adults, we must consider the footprints we leave on the Internet. The same applies to children who, born into a digital world, have no control over their first steps. Encouragement of inappropriate behavior almost always leads to issues in the classroom and on the playground – so much so, the correctional system is investing accordingly.
Children are being watched and accounted for very early on; and, those first steps are highly critical in an environment where many of are youth are judged and discriminated against for looking and dressing a certain way.
When black and Latino children are disproportionately removed from class, suspended and expelled, why make it easier for them to be identified as future inmates?
As parents, we’ve been commissioned to guide our children, which requires maintaining boundaries and encouraging the right things. Otherwise, we are positioning them to fail.
The way we view our children needs to be reassessed. They are people – not to be exploited for Vine followers, but to be loved and lead.
Instead of reaching for our phones, we should be reaching for their hands.

You know the Chris Brown, Karrueche saga never ends. It’s hard to keep up. Seemed like just two weeks ago, it was official that the two were finished. But a new Instagram video seems to suggest otherwise.
Whether the two are together or not, Chris Brown solicited the help of Karrueche to send a message to his fans and let the world know he loves Kae Kae. Someone captured the exchange on video and uploaded it to Instagram.
“Just calling all my fans– letting y’all know I love y’all. Thank y’all for all the support. Thank you for everything. The new video just came out so I hope y’all enjoy that and most importantly, Kae, Karrueche- I love you. So thank you babe.”
Honey, whether they’re together or not, the big, giddy grin on Karrueche’s face speaks volumes. In my best T-Pain voice, “She’s spruuuunnng. Dog, Chris got her.”
We learned a couple of months ago that rapper Ludacris and his longtime girlfriend Eudoxie took a break from their relationship. No biggie. But during that time Ludacris got another woman pregnant. It’s a sad story but certainly not one we haven’t heard before.
What’s so tragic about these situations is that the public will find a way to villainize the woman, peltering them with questions about situations in which they are the victim not the perpetrator.
It happened with Gabrielle Union and now apparently the same thing is happening to Eudoxie.
While Gabrielle decided to take the silent approach, Eudoxie used sarcasm.
Yesterday she posted the picture above with this caption:
I can’t wait for this new chapter of seeing your face every morning. Count down begins now!!!! #nomorephonesex #nomorebreakingbackforsexypics #sorryTMI
And y’all know everybody’s trying to get noticed these days. Shortly afterward a follower left this comment:
And Eudoxie kept it classier than most of us would this bit of sarcasm and an emoji.
Later, perhaps cooler heads prevailed and both comments were deleted.
No matter what we think about these relationships and the trials they experience, it’s really never cool to try to embarrass someone like that. No matter how detached they may seem they are real people. And am I the only one who finds it appalling that babies, innocent children, are now being used as insults? It’s sickening.
Furthermore, if our own relationships were broadcast all up and through the media, I’m sure more than a few of us would be regarded as fools.
What do you think about this person’s comment and Eudoxie’s response? How would you have handled the situation?
Bill Cosby isn’t as stuffy as you might have imagined. The 76-year-old comedian/actor/orator of wisdom already has a Twitter account (he only follows six people) and now he has joined Instagram.
He uploaded his first post Monday at South by Southwest (SXSW), just minutes before he performed his standup show for Funny or Die, reports Mashable. Facebook’s Strategic Partner Development, Entertainment exec Dustin Bramell recorded and posted the video with Cosby.
Cosby was already a Twitter fan, having recently tweeted “Twitter is the best fan-to-entertainer exchange I’ve ever had.” And he already seems hooked by Instagram. He told Mashable that Instagram will help him respond and relay things to fans faster.
“All of it seems to take away from old-time mail service … Now everything is 15 seconds,” he said. “I’m entertained by all the nicknames” like “Trash642.” LOL.
Who knew Cliff Huxtable was so tech happy?
There’s just something about a celebrity posting a pic of them in the buff that screams THIRST and Chrissy Teigen found that out the hard way yesterday.
Around noon Tuesday John Legend’s wife uploaded the pic above to her Instagram account with what we hope was a very sarcastic headline: “Work ughhhhh so harrrrrd.” Several of the model’s 439,000 followers eagerly jumped in to comment on the photo with affirmations like “gorgeous,” “You’re my ultimate girl crush!!,” “we love you,” but one admirer turned out not to be an admirer at all when he wrote:
“You are a married woman – cover up or find other means of fulfilling your depraved need for attention cup.”
Chrissy, who we’ve learned over the course of the past two years has quite a mouth on her, didn’t take that remark lying down. Noticing a photo of crayons the user had posted on his own Instagram account, she retorted: “Keep taking pictures of crayons you crayola b!tch a**.”
Unsurprisingly, Chrissy’s other followers began to harp on the user for calling her out as well, and that’s when he typed out this more thoughtful — yet shade-filled — response:
“My comment must have hit some truth so as to elicit such a (although elementary) defensive response. Reminds me of a famous Arthur Schopenhauer quote about truth whom I am sure you have never even heard of (but will google now). While you’re at it have a look at pics of molested kids and see what effects naked pictures have on antisocial freaks in society, may not directly be your fault but does it not sadden you that some child had to suffer as a result of your “expression”? This is one mere example. Modesty and humility is not a facet of a beautiful character for no reason; there is innate wisdom in those traits that benefit us all.”
Well said. Although I’m pretty sure this fell on deaf ears. Thoughts?
When we learned that Tamar was expecting a child, we just knew it was going to be a girl. After all, she would need a little girl to inherit all that attitude she has.
But apparently, Tamar is teaching her little boy to be just as mouthy, literally.
In a video she posted on Instagram not too long ago, Tamar shows us how she taught Logan to smack his mouth.
Check it out in the video below. It’s too cute!
