*Update from E News!*

E! News has confirmed that the Oscar winner is pregnant with her and fiancé Olivier Martinez’s first child, and that she’ll be adding a baby boy to her growing brood!

The actress’ rep told E! News, “We can confirm that Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez are expecting a child. We will not be commenting on or confirming any additional details.”

A source told E! News how the parents-to-be are feeling right now.

“Halle and Olivier are really excited,” the source said. “It’s a blessing. They can’t wait to have a baby together.”

——————

As reported by TMZ, a source “connected” to the actress and her fiancé, Olivier Martinez, say that she’s indeed pregnant, and not just pregnant, but allegedly around three months along. But TMZ says that through some other digging they did, she just might be further along. Somehow the source claims they also already know the sex of the child, and she could be having a boy. If factual, this will of course be the 46-year-old’s second child after having Nahla Aubry with former boyfriend and model, Gabriel Aubry.

This tidbit of information is definitely interesting seeing how she was just talking about Nahla praying every evening for a baby sister while talking with Wendy Williams:

“That’s the thing. [My daughter is] asking me,” Berry admitted. “Every night we pray to God, and she’s so sweet. She says, ‘God, please bring me a bunk bed and a baby sister.’ And I say, ‘I can do one of those things, I know for sure! The other one we have to keep praying on.’ What do you say to her when she wants that and can’t understand why God’s taking so long, you know?”

She might not be getting a little sister, but a little brother is just as good. Berry still seems mad tiny to be pregnant, but if she is with child, we’re very happy for homegirl, because she seems to be very happy with Martinez. Congratulations to the couple!

Halle Berry Is Fed Up With The Paparazzi Snapping Unauthorized Photos Of Her Kid, Reportedly Fighting Back Legally

A relaxing family vacation in Hawaii came to a horrible conclusion when Halle Berry landed at the LAX airport last night with fiancé Oliver Martinez and her daughter Nahla. As the trio attempted to make their way out of the airport, they were surrounded by paparazzi, reports the Huffington Post.

A concerned Berry attempted to shoo them away, yelling:

“Get away, there’s a child. What’s wrong with you people? There’s a child here! “

The paps of course, continued snapping photos of the seemingly overwhelmed actress and her family, which is when things are alleged to have gotten physical. Witnesses say that Oliver kicked one photographer in the leg and wrist. Sources say the photographer then grabbed Oliver’s arm and asked why he kicked him, which totally set the French film actor off. Both airport police and an ambulance were called to the scene; however, no statement has been released from the authorities regarding the incident and what became of it.

In the wake of the traumatic ordeal, sources tell the NY Post that Halle is in the process of rounding up a gang of her most famous friends, including Ben Afleck and Jennifer Garner to legally put an end to the paparazzi’s ability to snap unauthorized photos of celebrity children.

If you think Halle is being a drama queen, you may want to check out the footage of the incident, it appears that this experience would be too much for any 5-year-old.

‘Perhaps My Vision Was Too Complex For A Self-Centered Little Girl To Understand:’ Kenya’s Not Sorry She Kicked Porsha Out Her Party

Sunday night’s episode of the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” was a mess of a season finale, and right in the center of the drama were Kenya Moore and Porsha Stewart. The background is Kenya was having a party to celebrate her “arrival” and asked the ladies of the RHOA crew to dress as different iconic African American women. Porsha was told to come as Halle Berry a la Baps and in the midst of getting into character, some people got in Porsha’s ear, telling her the costume was likely a set-up, convincing her to come as Dorothy Dandridge Halle Berry instead.

Kenya, of course, went ballistic upon Porsha’s arrival and not-so-politely asked her to leave —  and then everyone went off. And now in an effort to explain herself to the masses, she’s written this ridiculous response on her blog, which starts like this:

From Halle Berry to Hattie McDaniel, who was the first Black women to ever win an Academy Award in 1939 74 years ago, the cause célèbre for my desire to honor these iconic women was the shocking and ignorant insults and remarks heralded toward me in Anguilla by a 31-year-old girl. I was told I was irrelevant, old, and a nonfactor at 41 being a part of history by becoming the 2nd black woman to be crowned Miss USA.

After I overcame my sadness and disdain at the ignorance and lack of respect that exists in America from some slightly younger, historically-challenged individuals, I felt it my responsibility to honor the women who have undoubtedly paved the way, opened doors, and broken racial barriers and stereotypes amidst hatred for women, which has allowed people like me to proudly walk through. I put a lot of time and effort into the party. I thought of each woman individually and assigned them costumes based on who their dynamic personalities. It was easy…

After that over dramatized explanation, which essentially says someone called me old, my feelings got hurt, I threw a party to prove I’m fabulous, Kenya went on to defend her choice of Porsha as B.A.Ps Halle Berry, and then threw massive shade:

“In B.A.P.S., [Halle Berry] was a young, pretty, unpolished, fun, and likable diamond in the rough. Her character arc showed her grow, mature, and become a beautiful polished Black American Princess who was willing to accept change. Perhaps, my vision was too complex for a self-centered little girl to understand.

“I’ve heard the comments that it was a “set-up,” or “non-glamorous,” “malice content” (malcontent is the correct word), which is utterly absurd. NO ONE takes that kind of energy from me.  This is just as ignorant as the first comments that were the catalyst for the event. Tina Turner was not “glamorous,” Grace Jones was not glamorous, nor any of the other characters aside from Cynthia as Diana Ross. I should not be surprised by the pervasive idiocy that exists in one’s own head…

“All the girls came to the party and never once complained about their assigned costumes. My amazing team created live reenactments from the movies of each character the girls were appearing, so it was imperative that they came as their assigned ICONS. If they didn’t want to comply with the hostess’ requests, they should have simply declined the invitation and stayed home. What clearly was premeditated is someone making their own rules to upset me at my own event, which I meticulously planned and paid for. Most importantly, I extended an olive branch toward forgiveness. When you have a history with me of being disrespectful, spiteful, and unapologetic, then you will be shown the nearest exit to the left.”

While Kenya may have gotten the last word with that remark, what she failed to think about before writing this rant was Porsha has bigger things to deal with — like a failing marriage — than her over-the-top “coming out” party. Therefore, this drawn out response just makes her look a little more crazy than we already think she is.

Sorry Olivier–Congrats Gabriel: Halle Berry Says One Way Or Another She Will Move To France…But Will Wait Until Nahla Is 18

It was just last year that Halle Berry and her ex, Gabriel Aubry, were in court battling over her desire to move their daughter, Nahla, to France. Of course, Berry is engaged to Olivier Martinez, and he is a native of France, which is one reason why she wanted to make to the move. However, Berry also claimed that she was hoping to head to Europe after feeling less and less safe in Los Angeles due to paparazzi interference at her daughter’s school and also because her former stalkers were released from jail in 2012 (one who had escaped from a psychiatric hospital was caught). But Aubry felt that her hope to move with their child was just an attempt to keep him away from his daughter. In the end, after a bitter physical altercation between Aubry and Martinez, and a judge telling her no to the idea of heading to France, both Berry and Aubry have come to a civil custody agreement, and the drama that was going on between them and all over the news last year has finally ceased. Well, as far as we can tell.

But Berry isn’t giving up on her plans to leave with her beau for France, the only change is that she will wait until Nahla is old enough to make her own decisions about where she wants to live before she moves away. In an interview with UK publication, HELLO! magazine, Berry set the record straight and says she probably won’t head to Europe until Nahla is 18 and is getting ready for college, but when she goes, that’s where she’ll stay:

When Nahla turns 18, she’ll be legally able to make her own decisions about where she wants to be and I think that then, when she’s off on her own, we’ll move there. It’s where I want to end my days, that’s for sure.”

She also says that her man, Martinez, has told her not to bother with trying to learn French now, because once she’s surrounded by French culture, things will come naturally.

I was told very lovingly by him not to work on it too hard now but to wait until we get to live there. Because for me, at my age and with all that I already have on my plate, trying to learn French is probably one of the hardest things I could possibly do. He thinks I’ll have an easier time when we’re living there and immersed in the culture – if we ever get to go that is.”

So until Nahla’s old enough to make up her own mind and go her own way, mother and daughter will be in LA. And if Martinez can wait 13 years, the actor and his gorgeous leading lady will be able to have the rendezvous’ in France they want for good. Until then…

Thank Goodness: After Her Share Of Film Flops, Halle Berry’s “The Call” Is Her First Box Office Winner In Years

You know things haven’t been easy for Halle Berry’s movies (not Halle per se, because she stays working) when numerous publications say that her most recent film’s success is a “surprise.”

While the film Oz The Great And Powerful took number one at the box office once again with a whopping 42 million, it was The Call, the thriller starring Berry, Morris Chestnut, Abigail Breslin and David Otunga of all people (yes, Jennifer Hudson’s man) that came in at number two and raked in some big money. According to E! Online, the movie made $17.1 million over the weekend, which is a big deal seeing as it has already earned more than it took to make the film ($15 mill), and beat out the magician-themed movie The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, which included huge names like Jim Carrey and Steve Carrell, and was a pretty big flop since it only made $10 million. According to Shadow And Act, Berry and Co. should feel proud because The Call played to more than 600 less theaters than The Incredible Burt Wonderstone.

It’s been hard for Halle Berry as a leading lady in Hollywood. In 2003, when she made Gothika with Robert Downey Jr. post-Oscar win, that was Berry’s biggest opening at the forefront of a film. But since then, most of her movies have been on struggle mode over the years. I’m still mad at her for doing Catwoman and Movie 43 recently. But it seems that the sun has come out, and Berry is able to be a winner as a leading lady, at least this time with The Call, which has decently received by critics. I didn’t check out this particular film (eh, the plot, the trailer, the wig–they just weren’t doing it for me), but kudos to her for some big screen success!

Did you check out The Call?

Finally! Box Office Success! Is Halle Berry Still Bankable In Hollywood?

Recently in Forbes magazine, Dorothy Pomerantz asked the question “Why can’t Halle Berry catch a break?”

This question comes at a time when Berry has a new movie in the theaters, which seemed doomed even before it opened last weekend. The Call was expected to earn just $10 million, according to Exhibitor Relations, which would have ranked it third. It actually earned $17.1 million to put it in second place behind Oz the Great and Powerful. The film only cost an estimated $13 million to make.

That makes this best opening for a Berry film since X-Men, The Last Stand in 2006, Entertainment Weekly continues, and the third strongest premiere for a movie starring Halle Berry. The movie company has been actively promoting the flick and opened it in 2,500 theaters nationwide. The New York Times attributes the additional take to a strong African American turnout. EW says 61 percent of the audience were women and 47 percent were younger than 30.

Good for Halle! But why is an Oscar winner like her making such low-budget movies that don’t top the box office more often? Is it a case of the Oscar curse—when Academy Award winners can’t seem to repeat their successes.

Berry, who took home the Best Actress Oscar in 2002 for Monster’s Ball, has only had a few hits such as those X-Men films where she plays Storm. “Outside of those movies, she’s had a string of either very bad luck or she’s made some very bad decisions,” suggests Pomerantz.

Berry’s turn as Catwoman in 2004 was an embarrassing flop; 2010′s Frankie & Alice, where she played a woman with multiple personality disorder, earned a terrible 14 out of 100 on Rotten Tomatoes; and although last year’s Cloud Atlas was one of the most hyped movies of the year, it turned out to be one of the biggest bombs. And earlier this year she did Movie 43 (along with a lot of other celebs, to be fair), which has been called one of the worst films ever.

Pomerantz wonders if it Berry’s inability to land a hit movie has something to do with the fact that she’s a 46-year-old African-American woman in a business where the movies are still dominated by white men. “Studios just aren’t looking to finance movies that star middle-aged black women no matter how beautiful they are. They’re not financing many movies starring white middle-aged women either so it’s not even like there are color blind roles that Berry could be getting,” she writes.

We’re sure that has something to do with it. But could it be as simple as poor film choices?  Prior to The Call, Berry was playing in some heavily financed flicks, which doesn’t necessarily guarantee success. Ironically, her Oscar role was in a small budget indie.

Or could it also be Berry’s acting? Even when she took home the Oscar, some panned her talent in the film.

Maybe her shoe line, which will debut this month, will be more successful. Berry is working with German retailer Deichmann Shoes to design her very first pair of commercial comfy-yet-fashionable shoes. The line is called “5th Avenue by Halle Berry.”

Why do you think Berry’s films have been box office failures? Do you think this is the first of many more successes?

Shoe Game Proper: Halle Berry Gets Her Own Shoe Line!

Read any blog, check any fashion site and you will almost always see someone say, “If I could just rock the Halle ____.”

Well, get ready because there is a chance you may be able to get a piece of Halle Berry in your closet.

According to EURweb, the actress will soon be coming out with her own shoe line. Berry will be working with Germain retailer Deichmann Shoes to release some shoes in line with what the Cover Girl would rock on her feet.

The line, “5th Avenue by Halle Berry” are described as being fashionable yet comfortable shoes bound to fit the lifestyles of all women (soccer moms, working moms, corporate women, fashion savvy women, etc…).

Halle, being a fashionable, busy and working mom, knows that there are often two things really important to women: their hair their shoes.

“Women have always loved shoes. It’s like if your hair is not right and your shoes are not right, the woman is not right. If both of them are right, you’re pretty much OK”

5th Avenue by Halle Berry will consist of 40 limited edition designs and will starting being available by the end of the month.

Another upside? The shoes will start at $60. Now, we don’t know what those shoes will look like but with only 40 pairs, the prices likely won’t get too far out of hand if you see a pair you like.

The possible down side? The shoes are only being released in the UK. There’s been no word from Deichmann Shoes as to whether or not they’ll be available to order online and ship to the United States.  If not, I guess we’ll just be looking at pictures online.

Good for Halle. This sounds like it was possibly something really fun for her to do!

Would you buy a pair if you saw some you liked?

The two have since broken up and are currently embattled in a narsty custody battle that has played out in the courts and the media.
