Stronger, Longer Hair Challenge

Take the Healthy Hair Survey

As most of us know, it’s not just about what we put in our hair, but it’s about what we put in our bodies. Our diet heavily affects our hair’s health. Let’s care more about becoming healthy overall. After all, a healthy body equals a healthy head of hair.

Firstly, just a disclaimer, when we are saying “diet”, we don’t mean crash diets or not eating anything to get skinny. We are talking a healthy balanced diet.

Let’s talk about our intake. Earlier this week we gave you details about the vitamins, now we list some great foods that help promote #StrongerLonger hair.

Eat your breakfast! Dairy and eggs are great for you! Your hair is made of protein, so guess what? You need protein. Your hair can start thinning out when you don’t get enough protein. Whole Grain is great as well for breakfast of lunch. You can pick up a box of cereal or a healthy sandwich with whole-grain and to help prevent hair loss.

For lunch or dinner, eating salmon promotes a healthy scalp and prevents your hair and scalp from drying out! It has essential fatty acids that benefit your body and hair.

When your mom told you “Don’t forget to eat all your veggies”, it wasn’t just because she didn’t want you to waste food. Green vegetables like spinach and broccoli are really good for your body and hair. They produce sebum (the natural oil your scalp makes) and prevent your hair from drying out.

Need a healthy snack, eat some carrots. This is another great veggie that helps promote healthy growth. The best thing is, with just one carrot you have all the Vitamin A you need for the day!

Make sure you have a proper diet that makes you healthy and helps you with a healthy head of hair!
Lastly, drink at least 8 glasses of water a day!

What are some of your favorite foods that promote #LongerStronger hair?

This week on The Truth @bout Natural Hair With Anu, Ms. Prestonia helps a reader learn about how hair vitamins can promote healthy hair.

Dear Anu,

I am looking for a way to grow my hair quickly. Some time ago I went into a salon for a relaxer and a trim something which I do every 4-5 months and unfortunately this women did not do a good job with the trim. She cut more than she trimmed. Needless to say I was not happy with the service given. In my search to grow hair I have come across Hairfinity vitamins. They promise to grow your hair fast and there are a ton of testimonials on youtube. I have taken the Nioxin vitamins in the past and couldn’t really tell if my hair was growing from the vitamins or from me taking better care of my hair. Have you heard of Hairfinity, would you recommend it?

Regards,
Marilyne A
