It’s always something with TGT. Despite, being nominated for a Grammy for their Three Kings album, there always seems to be something or someone–looking at you Ginuwine– falling through the cracks.
Yesterday, TGT was supposed to perform on the Arsenio Hall Show. But they never made it and left Arsenio scrambling to fill the time he had allotted for them. The group had been invited back after they went over so well with the crowd on Wednesday night. Man. We don’t have to tell you this is unprofessional as an artist and just inconsiderate as a person.
Tyrese felt terribly about it and he issued an apology on Twitter.
TGT is not on the show tonight and it’s completely on someone in our camp who f**ked it up. It’s expected of A-Hall to publicly speak on it!

I’ve been sick to my stomach all day cause it was ME who asked him to let us come back on for the fans! Arsenio Hall bro we feel like shit

It’s gonna take years to recover from this but I will earn your trust again cause I know you are committed to your viewers we will fix this
— Vision Implementer (@Tyrese) February 20, 2014
TGT fans responded with mixed reactions. One woman said she flew from Seattle to be in the #LadiesOnly audience in Las Vegas and said she was very disappointed. And others offered words of encouragement saying everyone makes mistakes and commended Tyrese for apologizing when other artists wouldn’t have.
Another fan wrote that Arsenio commented that the studio never smelled so good with 200 women waiting for the group.
He also retweeted Tyrese’s apology, thanked the comedians who came through for him in the midnight hour and the audience full of disappointed women.
@ArsenioHall were going to fix this…. Someone in OUR camp messed this up completely and we will fix this… God bless you.. Again sorry!

My thanks to my audience of classy, understanding, beautiful, loving, laughing women who I spent Wednesday evening with at stage 6.

Arsenio’s being very classy about this. And hopefully he’ll allow TGT to make it up to him. Do you think he should give them a another chance to appear on the show?
With the advent of social media sites like Twitter and Facebook, it’s easier and easier for celebrities to stay connected with their fans 24/7. But while some celebrities are naturally more entertaining than others, the rest of the bunch can just be downright hard to follow either because of their bad grammar, boring content, or ignorant commentary.
Florida rapper Plies dropped out of high school to follow his dreams. He founded his own independent label with his stepbrother but Plies was hesitant to become a rapper and preferred to stay behind the scenes. Releasing several mixtapes and albums on his own Plies may be best known for his guest feature on Ludacris’ “Nasty Girl.” He may also be best known for getting nasty on twitter. Not only are his tweets raunchy, they’re grossly misspelled. His most recent PG-rated tweets include: I Gotta Stop Getting Drunk And Callin A Bihh Late Nite… I Be Out Dere 2 Bad” and “Chase Tha Money An Not Da Hoes…”

Being in love is always a great feeling and it’s even greater to share it with the world, like these artists who weren’t shy about having their boos star in a music video with them for all to see.
Usher and Chilli
In 2001, Chilli made a lot of women jealous after she started dating Usher. Although their relationship only lasted for two years, that was enough time for Chilli to appear in two of Usher’s videos: “U Got It Bad” and “U Don’t Have To Call.” After their relationship came to an end, many speculated the songs off of Usher’s Confessions album (which hinted of an affair and a love child) were about their relationship, but the TLC member revealed that Jermaine Dupri’s love life was really the inspiration behind it all.

In Hollywood there are pretty boys — you know the Diddys of the world who place photos of themselves on Instagram with cucumber patches under their eyes and take more time to get ready than the average woman — and then there are men who are just plain pretty. They have the long eyelashes, soft facial features, and grooming habits that just make you swoon and say, you know what, that’s a pretty man right there. Check out our favorite pretty celebrity men.
Musician Prince has always had an androgynous look about him. With his high cheekbones, deep, soulful eyes and soft lips, the Purple One has worn clothes such as ruffled blouses and boots with heels that at the very least could be labeled unisex. The legendary artist has been romantically linked to beautiful women but he’s always been the prettier one in the relationship. Prince, who normally wore his hair similar to Halle Berry’s signature short hairstyle, debuted his new look sporting an afro on ABC’s “The View” which made him look a little more masculine.
I’ve been tip-toeing around this subject for months now because I didn’t want to be too hasty with the criticism, but after observing what was supposed to be the comeback of TGT this year, and the person who seems to be the common denominator in all of their failings, I can only come to the conclusion that Ginuwine’s saddle is no longer waiting for fans to jump on it and he is so not anxious about winning in the music game.
As you know, earlier this year Tyrese, Ginuwine, and Tank made a big to-do about their TGT supergroup reunion and even dropped an album this august called Three Kings to show us they were serious about taking the insecurity out of R&B and making music people could respect. Fans bought what TGT was selling — literally — and the album debuted at number 3 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 76,000 copies in the United States in the first week. And then…nothing. OK, technically, some things did happen but nothing would have been better than what surpassed.
Backing up just a taste, I will say I already began having reservations about these “three kings” in July when I attended the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans. Actually, I wasn’t concerned about all three of them, just one: the G. See when the men hit the stage to perform on opening night, this is what Ginuwine did during his solo set:
A hand towel dance break? Really? I won’t even get on the fact that the audience sang his songs more than he did, but just know this is the point when I realized that in 2013 Ginuwine just planned to get by on his looks. And that I could get behind, so long as he didn’t mess up Tyrese and Tank who can both sing and appear to actually want to get on stage and perform and — shocker — rehearse before doing so.
Enter TGT’s WLNY performance when it became clear to the world and Ginuwine’s groupmates that sitting there being cute doesn’t look so cute when you’re smack dab in front of a camera on a news channel. In fact, it makes you look high as a kite, which is the allegation that followed Ginuwine after this womp of an appearance. His excuse? Red Bull.
It appears Ginuwine has an excuse for just about every blunder of his these days because three weeks ago when the singer started tweeting illegibly about love and relationships while watching the Dallas Cowboys game he came back the next day and blamed his incoherent ramblings on the sleep drug Ambien. And now he’s acting as though he doesn’t owe anyone — like his fans — an explanation about just deciding not to show up to the Soul Train Awards last month, tweeting: “I wasn’t there and that was it u wanna make more out of it then let’s go who ever!!!!!” I’m sorry, what else did you have to do that day?
I say all this to say that from the outside looking in, it appears Ginuwine’s work ethic and general concern for his own image as well as that of his group is nonexistent at worst and lackluster at best. When your group only has three members, there’s no room for one to be gazing off into “all of the lights” while hocked up on Ambien or “Red Bull” — especially when that one member “doesn’t like to sing background,” as the guys told us when they came into the office for an interview. If you want to be the front man, you have to do front man work. At this point, Ginuwine’s acting like he’s a lighting director backstage who doesn’t need practice because they “do this.” Nah homie. You need practice. Lot’s of it.
All I’m saying is, don’t get women across the world — OK across the United States — OK a few thousand women across the United States — all amped up for the “return of real R&B” only to come out looking like a 40-something hasbeen daddy of eight who just showed up to get a check (even if that’s what you are) because the thing is TGT should work. Tank has an enormous amount of talent — and sex appeal — Tyrese is nice on the eyes and can sing his little raspy heart out, and Ginuwine, well, he brings the mainstream success and fans. But right now he’s acting like he doesn’t want it, and given the small window these gentlemen have to actually make us care about what they’re doing and download their album or buy tickets to their shows, he needs to give us something more than no-shows and microphone mumbles. That’s if he actually wants to win and judging from this slew of mishaps I’m convinced he doesn’t. Anyone else feel the same way?
This has been the year of Ginuwine and very odd behavior. I’m sure you remember when he was caught behaving very oddly during a performance with his group TGT, and he had people thinking he was high off of something. It was so bad that even his group mate Tyrese had to clown him on Twitter. Well, over the weekend he got caught behaving oddly once again. The “Pony” and “So Anxious” singer was trying to give love advice to fans, and even tried to quiz them on their own love lives while he was watching a Dallas Cowboy football game. Unfortunately, he must have been multi-tasking on the influence of alcohol because the Tweets he sent out were so incoherent it was actually pretty ridiculous:
Today, Ginuwine realized the errors in his messages and decided to provide an explanation, and it did have to do with drugs, but not the type people were trying to accuse him of messing with:
Blessings this Monday shouts 2 my angels shouts 2 all who support last night ws hilarious gotta say excuse my tweets I took ambien n wow lol
Unfortunately for him, you know Twitter doesn’t hold back when foolery occurs, so many fans, as usual, brought out their best stand-up comedian jokes to let the singer know he needs to do a lot better:
“Iz dere ne moor rum four mi in dose jenes?”
“Someone explain to me why Ginuwine’s timeline looks like the Soul Train scramble board on purpose”
“Y’all expect ginuwine to know how to spell when he spelled genuine wrong.”
“My TL said Ginuwine is tweeting with no thumbs. Then my TL said he sounds like Old McDonald from the Geico commercial LMAO I’m sleep though.”
“Ginuwine – What’s so difference?”
I’ve sent some really incoherent texts when I was a half asleep, and I had to admit that they made me look a hot mess, but your boy was over here tweeting with the utmost confidence and didn’t care not one bit to look before he pressed “send.” But hey, you live and you learn, and maybe he’ll leave social media alone next time when he picks up the Ambien.
Remember yesterday when we talked about Tyrese defending his Twitter persona and saying people only get offended by his love advice because they have these false expectations of him? Well it’s good to know even his band mates in TGT sometimes dismiss the self-professed love guru’s musings.
When the R&B supergroup stopped by our office a couple of weeks ago, they got into a pretty heavy discussion on love and relationships, with Tyrese and Tank talking about their desire to marry again and Ginuwine sharing advice on how he’s maintained his marriage to Sole for 10 years. Speaking on the breakdown that often occurs between men and women, Tank said:
“We don’t have the spirit of compromise totally developed where we can work cohesively as one. Where we can make those sacrifices on either end to make a difference in our relationship. As we get older and as we make mistakes and as we learn, if you’re smart enough about it, you get to take [those experiences] and turn them into wisdom which allows you to know, the next time around, the dos and don’ts. “
Not a bad observation, right? Well from there, Tyrese starting dropping all sorts of cliche sayings like, “Every man comes with baggage and every woman comes with baggage; can you find the man who’s going to stand there and help you unpack it,” and that’s when Tank and Ginuwine started clowning the 34-year old actor/singer, whom they’ve deemed “the human quoter.” Looks like we’re not the only ones who could do without Tyrese’s relationship advice.
Check out these three throwing jabs and having some serious moments in the video below. What do you think about their takes on relationships?
There’s nothing like listening to famous crooners belt out lyrics to one of your jams. But when you hear your favorite singer struggle to reach a high note, it makes you want to cover your ears. If a vocalist makes their fans cringe every time they open their mouth, it’s time to give it on up.
Of course every singer is entitled to an off day. Who knows, they may have just been caught with a scratchy throat or have experienced a serious medical setback that affects their vocal chords? But for most of the singers who’ve lost their voice on this list, the change seems to be a bit more…permanent. Would you agree?
“It’s the TGT remix!”
Sorry, I think of that line from the “Please Don’t Go” do over every time I type TGT’s name, but actually it’s sort of applicable here. Tyrese, Ginuwine, and Tank, have joined forces once again and reignited their supergroup known as TGT and today they’re dropping a new album appropriately titled “Three Kings.”
We wasted no time getting these handsome, fine, uber sexay, delicious, hard-bodied, oh yeah and talented men in our office to talk about a number of things (which you’ll see in another interview) but also what we can expect from their new LP and how they feel about their competition — if they have any — right now. Here’s what Tyrese had to say:
“R&B these days is insecure. R&B singers feel like they have to have rappers all over their albums in order to get attention, to get radio spins. A lot of R&B artists got their projects shelved because their labels would much rather put their money into hip-hop because nobody wants to not get a return on their investment. It’s a business. So for us to sell records and have this ‘Three Kings’ album be successful, we feel like it’s going to really make a statement and re-spark the interest in authentic R&B.”
Well, he’s convinced us!
Check out the rest of TGT’s interview below. Are you looking forward to hearing their album today?
There are many times in our lives that we’ve done double-takes at the television screen for celebrities we haven’t seen or heard from in a while. “Where have you been?!” Some stars, who have so much potential, have come crashing down — or have remained stagnant — in their careers for some reason or another. But, we’re starting to see some fallen stars who are re-emerging into the spotlight and might possibly reclaim their spot on top. Here’s a list of celebs that we believe are poised for a come up–again.
