Judge Orders Counseling for Halle, Gabriel, and Nahla

A judge has decided to wait for results from the child endangerment investigation being conducted by the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services to address Halle Berry’s request that daughter, Nahla, be kept away from her father, Gabriel Aubry. But he has taken into consideration suggestions put forth by the department which include mediation that would allow a third party to meet with Halle and Gabriel to figure out how they can raise their child peacefully going forward.

Halle is reportedly receptive to the idea, and plans to continue her own individual counseling to deal with this situation, but Gabriel? Not so much. He did agree to go to counseling for his anger issues and both parents said OK to sending their 3-year-old daughter to counseling, but Gabriel is apparently having so much trouble accepting the other recommendations put forth by children’s services that the judge is considering holding a full hearing so that he can issue his own judgements.

So far, no ruling has been issued regarding the nanny Gabriel fired and was allegedly abusive to, but overall things aren’t looking good for him. The more receptive Halle is and the more resistant he is, he just ends up looking like the bad guy to the judge and the public.

Do you think counseling for Halle, Gabriel, and Nahla is a good idea?

Baby Daddy Drama: Gabriel Aubry Investigated for Child Endangerment

Gabriel Aubry has issues—legal ones. Halle Berry is reportedly due in court today to request that her child’s father not have any contact with their 3-year-old daughter, Nahla, until said legal issues—an investigation into accusations of child endangerment and assault—are resolved.

Alliance Kamdem, a nanny hired by Gabriel, claims the French-Canadian model repeatedly yelled and cursed at her, often in Nahla’s presence. She also says Gabriel would make her sit in a corner in his condo until he called for her, and that he often yelled at Nahla as well, causing her to become scared and cry. The nanny also alleges that when Nahla had a rash her father refused to treat it; now the the L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services has gotten involved and plans to conduct a child endangerment investigation.

On top of all of this, Alliance quit her job last week after Gabriel allegedly shoved her. She also claims he’s yelled racial epithets at her.

The only response Gabriel’s rep has given on the matter is that “Anyone can file a police report at any time, regardless of it being accurate.”

Well, hopefully these accusations aren’t.

Do you think the judge should honor Halle’s request that Gabriel not have contact with Nahla until this mess is cleared up?

How Did Baby Mother and Father Relations Go So Sour?

Is it just me, or are the relationships between mothers and the fathers of their children getting worse and worse?

No, I’m pretty sure it’s not just me.

Statistics made public near the end of last year by the government put out there that 72 percent of black children are born to unmarried mothers. There is nothing wrong whatsoever with being a single mother, especially if you share custody with the child’s father, allow healthy visitation, collect a reasonable amount of support for the child and most importantly, get along. You don’t have to be all buddy buddy, but you need to at least be civil to one another. We all know the petty things men and women do to one another when they are heated, and when there’s a child involved, there’s no place for all that drama. And drama is expected these days (think of when a woman dates a man with a child they always ask themselves, “am I ready for baby mama drama?”). But watching the news and reading the blogs, I’ve found hateful crimes between baby mothers and fathers, childish lawsuits and damaging language about each other played out in public. All this proves we need to know folks a lot better and a lot longer than we used to before we lay down and produce children with them–cause things are getting real ugly.

Halle Berry’s ‘Frankie and Alice’ on Hold Indefinitely

Halle Berry has pulled out of a romantic comedy called “New Year’s Eve” in order to gear up for a custody battle with the father of her toddler, but now that drama has perhaps spilled over to her completed projects as well.

The film “Frankie and Alice,” which co-stars Phylicia Rashad and Chandra Wilson, wrapped filming last year and was even realesed in one LA theater this past December in order to qualify for this year’s Oscars. But the release of the film has been delayed for an “undetermined” amount of time according to AOL Black Voices.  The film’s original February 4, 2011 release date was scrapped long before Berry’s drama began, but her custody battle is sure to be time-consuming and no studio exec wants a film’s biggest star to be unavailable to promote the film.

We sure hope Ms. Berry gets everything straightened out very soon.  Goodness knows we need all the brown faces we can get on the big screen.
