Clearly Folks Don’t Read: Future Says Lil Wayne’s Emmett Till Controversy Was Positive Because He Made People Aware Of Who Till Was

I would hope that people wouldn’t get their education solely from listening to rap music (especially since the caliber of it these days is nothing to rave about), but according to Future, the rapper/auto-tuner/Ciara’s “king,” they do.
It was the remix of Future’s song, “Karate Chop” where Lil Wayne found himself in big trouble for saying, “Beat the p***y up like Emmett Till.” And because of such disrespectful lyrics, the rapper faced a great deal of criticism, and was dropped as the spokesperson for Mountain Dew, following in the step of fools like Rick Ross in facing actual consequences for raps.
But Future just recently decided to put his two cents in in an interview to not necessarily say that Lil Wayne’s lyrics weren’t bad, but to say that his reference to the Civil Right’s icon helped bring more attention to who Till was and his contributions to the freedoms folks have now, especially for those who didn’t know who he was…like Future’s own father and people in his circle.
“We did the song with great intentions…Naw, I never thought it was going to get so much attention. But I think overall, he did bring light in a positive way, to what happened. Even though they might have thought it was negative he brought positive energy to the situation. Because a lot of people don’t even know, my dad didn’t even know who Emmett was. He think I’m talking about Emmitt Smith. I’m talking a lot of people around me, credible people that should…He raised awareness to people who didn’t even know who Emmett Till is to young kids who didn’t even know what happened to him. It’s a lot, a lot of people, they don’t even understand. You ask them who he is they would never tell you, talking about “Emmitt Smith.” They don’t even know who he is. At the end of the day, he [Lil Wayne] brought positive light. So when situations like that do happen, I don’t believe in any way, form or fashion did he do that out of disrespect towards the family…”
“After Lil Wayne brought light to it, they had to go and do their research. It was more of an educational line moreso…”
You know, I can see what he’s trying to say. But if Lil Wayne wanted to speak on Till and bring his name out to the masses in a positive way, why equate the tragedy of his death to a sex act? Thaaaat’s right, because that wasn’t his intention. He just thought he was being clever. And he wasn’t. Check out Future’s interview with Big Boy’s Neighborhood below, where he talks about the controversy.

Keep Your Boo Behind-the-Scenes: 11 Celebs Who’ve Mixed Their Mates With Their Music

Ever since I heard the slowed beat of Ghost Town DJ’s “My Boo” drop, I instantly had Ciara’s latest single “Body Party” on repeat. I knew the video would feature her slithering and sliding in moves that would keep EMTs busy for weeks as women across the country blew out their backs and pulled hamstrings trying to imitate the moves for their men.
I wasn’t disappointed when Ciara scissored her legs in the air for boyfriend Future as they play out how they first met for the video, but it was like deja-vu as I saw her relationship slowly steal the spotlight from her first two singles. Is it me, or does something happen to a recording artist when they fall in love and choose to flaunt it in their work? After watching Ciara’s steamy video for “Body Party,” I couldn’t help but wonder if she’s risking the buzz she’s worked so hard to build back by allowing boyfriend, Future, to make so many appearance.
Mixing business and pleasure is a risky move. There’s something about when celebs turn the camera on to their personal lives that causes their careers and their relationships to fall apart. Here are a few celebs who might want to think about leaving their boo behind-the-scenes in the future.

1. J.Lo
J.Lo had a pretty good buzz going as a singer even if her “hits” were only heard in the clubs, but as soon as Ben Affleck took J.Lo from the block to the yacht in her Jenny From the Block vid, Jenny’s singing career went man down for a minute and she was left man-less and a little embarrassed. Not to mention Ben credited the cameo with almost ruining his career. And who can forget how clearly sprung she was on the track “Dear Ben,” in which she sings,” I love you, you’re perfect.” Well apparently the feelings weren’t mutual; Ben quickly married another Jennifer after their break up and made like 11 kids with her. Sting. Word of advice for the former fly girl: You can sing all the love songs you want about your boo, just don’t name them after him and throw said boo in all your videos.
Did You Need A Tat For That? Ciara Says Her And Future’s Matching Tats Are Their Way Of Putting Positive Things In The Universe
We know we’re not the only ones who were wondering why Ciara and Future upped and got matching tattoos on their fingers after only having been dating for a short while. Unfortunately, we haven’t had an opportunity to ask such a pertinent question, but thankfully Wendy Williams did and, as usual, she did not mince words.
Today, Ciara appeared on her talk show discussing everything from body parties to her Rihanna feud, but the most interesting moment of their chat was Ciara’s explanation for her and her boo, Future’s, matching tats. Here’s how the discussion went when Wendy drew attention to the body art.
Wendy: Are you pregnant?
Ciara: No (laughs)
Wendy: Clearly you’re in love?
Ciara: I’m very happy
Wendy: So you guys eventually are going to getting married?
Ciara: I don’t know.
Wendy: What happens if you don’t get married to this guy? How are you going to explain that to the next man?
This is the place I’m in. I’ve always been so reserved and to myself or more private and kind of half way about something when I speak about a relationship. In this day in my life I’m so comfortable in my skin. And I feel so good about where I am. I’m very confident and comfortable with the way he loves me. I say that to say I’m only going to put in the universe positive things. I’m going to put in the universe that it’s only going to get better and better and better.
And again I ask: you needed a tattoo to do that?
I get putting positive things out in the universe, I just prefer they come into fruition before I permanently place those ideas on my body. But hey, get it how you live. Here’s to Ci Ci never having to explain these tats to anyone else!
What do you think about the reason behind their tattoos?
Ciara Reportedly Threw A Fit That May Cost Future Over $45,000 And A Lawsuit
A Las Vegas nighclub owner by the name of KiKi and her in-house promoter Cliff have a bone to pick with Atlanta rapper Future and it appears that his girl Ciara has a lot to do with it. Both Cliff and KiKi called up Power 105.1′s The Breakfast Club to put the lovebirds on blast. According to Cliff, Future’s management was paid for him to make an appearance at the LV nightclub. Future reportedly flew into Las Vegas and even stayed at the hotel that the promoter booked for him, but never performed or even showed up to the club.
“I paid him 75% upfront. I gave him $36,625 up front,” Cliff said.
“When he landed, he wanted two SUVs. I didn’t get the plane landing time until 9:45pm the night before and by then the SUVs were all sold out with the limousine company that I use. Since they didn’t have any SUVs they gave me the superstretch truck. Well, the tour manager called and said Ciara didn’t want to get in the car with the special guest they had with them. So I sent another stretch limousine, which was a Lincoln. When they saw the limousine Future wouldn’t get in the car. So they sent off the Lincoln and got in the super stretch,” he continued.
Cliff went on to say that once Future and Ciara arrived at the hotel, they apparently made other plans because they walked off and did their own thing as if he wasn’t scheduled to appear at the club in a couple of hours.
“Once they got to the hotel I called another company that sent four SUVs to transport them to the club. He came down to the lobby, him and Ciara walked off into the Steakhouse and they disappeared.”
“I gave you the top limousines. I did everything I could. I had to contract this with the radio station,” he told the Breakfast Club hosts.
“It wasn’t an issue about money. All money was in place.”
Charlemagne, attempting to gain some sort of clarity asked, “So Future didn’t show up to perform or make his appearance because him and Ciara got into an argument over a car?
“Yeah, they didn’t want to ride in that type of SUV,” Cliff responded.
“I know they’re in love and engaged and stuff, but man up and get to work, Future,” KiKi, the club owner added.
“You had a commitment to us. We’re a club. There were so many people. We had to call out 30 metro officers to secure our building. Our character and reputation is on the line. We did everything we were supposed to do and for you not to even apologize to us?” she continued.
When asked what their next course of action will be, Cliff responded:
“Of course I’m going to the attorneys.”
“He a little kid. Two years ago he ain’t have a dime… They kept telling me, ‘You know how it is when they rolling with they girls.’ I don’t give a damn about his girl. I don’t care about Ciara. I didn’t book Ciara. I don’t have nothing to do with that.”
Tsk, tsk, tsk. Regardless of what happened, if everything went down the way the club’s promoters say it did, it all comes down to Future not handling his business. But who knew CiCi was such a diva?

“DON’T DO THE DEW”: Family Of Emmett Till Wants Mountain Dew To Drop Lil Wayne For Comparing Till’s Death To Sex Act

I tell you, rappers and remixes are turning into an absolute fail these days. Before Rick Ross angered a great deal of people by casually rapping about date rape, way back in February, we told you about Lil Wayne pissing off the family of the late Emmett Till when he thought he was being clever, comparing the beating of Till to beating up a woman’s private parts. Here’s a reminder of what he said while doing a feature on the remix of the Future song, “Karate Chop.”
“Lil Wayne takes over the song around the third verse, and the line in question goes something like this: “Pop a lot of pain pills/Bout to put rims on my skateboard wheels/Beat that p***y up like Emmett Till/Yeah….”
Airicka Gordon-Taylor, who is the cousin of Till and director of the Mamie Till Mobley Memorial Foundation, spoke out against the lyrics and called them “dishonorable,” among many other things:
“We found it dishonorable to his name and what his death has meant to us as a people and as a culture. It was offensive not only to us, but to our ancestors and to women and to themselves as young, black men. I just couldn’t understand how you could compare the gateway of life to the brutality and punishment of death. And I feel as though they have no pride and no dignity as black men.”
Since, the rapper has not apologized, the Till family have told AllHipHop.com exclusively that they intend to pressure Lil Wayne’s sponsors, namely Mountain Dew.
Shortly, the Till Family are expected to make offensive moves forward to further address Wayne and Mountain Dew, a product of PepsiCo. A similar tactic by women’s group UltraViolet resulted in Reebok dropping Rick Ross from their campaign.
Can You Feel The Awkardness In The Air? Old Boo Bow Wow Has To Interview Ciara In Front Of Her New Man Future On “106 & Park”

As if running into your ex wasn’t already awkward enough, try having to come face to face with ‘ol boy, while you’re with your new man when you’re a celebrity like Ciara. The singer took to 106 & Park to debut her video, “Body Party,” which featured her new boo, Future, along with many other ATLiens. Of course, she had to be interviewed by Bow Wow, her ex. They had an extremely public relationship back in 2005 (on the cover of magazines together, making songs as a couple, hitting the red carpets) but ended up having an equally public breakup when they split in 2006.
Fast forward to 2013, she’s happily dating Future and feeling good. Like, really good. They’ve been all over the place with their relationship. But in order to connect with her C-Squad (her fans that is), she had to make a stop to 106 & Park to be interviewed by her ex. Paigon was a buffer between the two initially, but she disappeared during the middle of it, leaving the former couple to awkwardly converse. The person who seemed the most uncomfortable though was Bow Wow, who tried his best to play it cool but clearly looked far from it. Maybe that’s why he got too comfortable sitting far away on the couch with this legs open and laughed and made noises randomly throughout the interview. If it wasn’t awkward enough that he did the “Woooooooo” to a picture of Ci and Future, there was even a part at the end where he asked her to shout out his mother, since she considered Ciara to be like a daughter…his words, not mine.
They handled it decently, Ciara especially, but still, I’m sure she would have loved if Bow Wow would have taken the day off. Check out her interview below and in the first video, watch until the 5-minute mark, as for the second video, you can watch the whole thing, but from the 3-minute mark to the end comes the juicy/awkward part.
How do you think they handled having to speak to each other while her new boyfriend was watching?
Ciara Releases “Body Party” Visuals Where She Has A “Dance For You” Moment With Future, And Stevie J & Joseline Make Appearances
If you were living under a rock all this time, you might not have known that Ciara is happily dating rapper Future, and has been very vocal about how much he means to her. And if that wasn’t public enough, she gets lovey-dovey with the rapper in her newest video for “Body Party,” the single from her upcoming album, Ciara, due out July 9.
In the video, Ci Ci does her usual flawless choreography at a house party in front of her boo and famous friends, which include Ludacris, Trinidad James, Jazze Pha, and even Joseline Hernandez and Stevie J. I guess they’re part of the ATL elite set now, because we actually see them (and Joseline’s backside) multiple times in the video (they show up initially at the 41-second mark). And after having a very cinematic break where Future and Ciara pretend to meet for the first time and flirt, we next see her having a real old-fashioned “body party” in a bedroom in front of the rapper, while seductively dancing around in lingerie. She even breaks out the back stand we used to do as kids and manages to make it alluring. Shout out to the meme someone made below based on the move showing up in the video (see the 3:08 minute mark), and the young lady I found it thanks to (hey Vanessa, girl!).

Hilarious.
Check out the video and let us know what you think. Definitely a slow jam we’ll be jamming to into summer. How about you?
And on a random sidenote…who else didn’t realize that Future was so fine???
You Might Be The Father! Groupies Looking for Their Baby Daddies Among The Stars
For a groupie, there is no bigger prize than getting pregnant by your celebrity lover. It’s like winning the lottery — so they think. More often than not, headlines about them and their baller boyfriends read like an episode of the Maury show, particularly for these 15 women who hung their heads in shame after they heard the judge say “You Are Not the Father.”
Pamela Smith
Pamela Smith should have looked for a better baller to blame. He’s the world’s most famous basketball player and he made it to 50 without a paternity scandal.
That’s a man who’s too smart to let a groupie get her paws on his millions. In March, a judge ordered MJ to take a paternity test to determine if Pamela’s 16-year-old son Grant Taj Reynolds was his. But seeing as Pam already sued MJ for paternity years ago and lost, no one expects Mike to be the father.
You Can Always Say “No Comment”: Ciara Speaks To Hot 97 About Her Ongoing Issues With Rihanna (Again) And Why Beyoncé’s A Beast

I can’t imagine being a celebrity, doing an interview and constantly being asked about somebody else. Kelly Rowland has done a pretty good job at keeping the smiles going and keeping it positive while people spend half of her interviews asking about Beyoncé or Blue Ivy, but for Ciara, people want to know about her drama. And she seems to have no problem answering any and all questions about it, when it might be best not to.
Sitting down with Cipha Sounds, K. Foxx, Rosenberg, and Ebro at Hot 97, we assume to do promo for her album Ciara being released this summer, the singer opened up about everything from why she’s being so public with her relationship with Future, to what the deal is with her beef with Rihanna, and why she loves her some Beyoncé.
When asked why she is being so forward in public with her feelings about rapper Future (the couple already has tattoos for each other), especially after claiming to be private about her love life (but what about Bow Wow and 50 Cent??), she said it’s because she’s ready to:
“I felt comfortable in this situation. I feel like you have to be comfortable because when you do step outside, you put yourself in a situation for everyone to have an opinion.”
As for what the deal is with going back and forth with Rihanna:
“I don’t have no beef…it is what it is. I don’t know what she’s on. Whatever she’s on, she can have it. I’m so cool, I’m so in my zone right now. It’s not that many of us doing what we do. It shouldn’t be anything but love. I feel like all of us and what we do is different anyway, so I couldn’t understand what the need to create drama would be, but I wish her well.”
And why despite the drama she’s had with some R&B divas in the past, she rides with Beyoncé:
“I think everybody can coexist. I have a lot of respect for Beyoncé. I think she’s just an amazing performer. She’s a beast. She’s worked hard to be where she is right now and she deserves all the respect.”
Watch the full interview and her thoughts on women in R&B coexisting, her man Future, and why she doesn’t want to waste time with any Ri Ri drama anymore on the next page.
