I know you’ve seen this beautiful face before. I was first introduced to actor Jesse Metcalfe through the short-lived and kind of terrible (but terribly good!) soap opera, Passions. But once Metcalfe left the soaps behind for other TV projects and movie roles, the sky was the limit. He was starring in his own movies, and all the ladies were loving him. He’s still doing big things these days, including starring on the hit TNT show Dallas, and now that the show is back on for its third season (which just started again last week), we thought we’d show his cute self some love as this week’s evening eye candy. Enjoy!
When you say the name, Richard Roundtree, first thing people think of is Shaft. John Shaft. But there’s more to Richard Roundtree than an uber-popular blaxploitation film. He’s a cancer survivor, a former model and a one-time football star, and did I mention that he’s a pop culture icon? For our last vintage evening eye candy post for Black History Month, we’re showing love to the action star, stage actor and breast cancer awareness activist, who has managed to stay relevant and popular after more than 40 years on the big and small screen.
Anybody else remember Nike’s “Bo Knows” campaign? Bo Jackson was everywhere in the ’80s and early ’90s because of his talent, and the fact that such talent was dominant in various sports. Bo knew football, but Bo could also kill in baseball. Hell, to this day, Bo is also great at archery. Jackson was named as the “Greatest Athlete of All Time” by ESPN, and while he’s been recognized often for his varying athletic abilities, did anyone else notice Jackson was quite the looker back in the day? As part of our vintage evening eye candy series for Black History Month, we decided to highlight Jackson’s accomplishments, as well as his good looks!
Does Clifton Davis look familiar to you? If you watched the shows That’s My Mama and Amen back in the day, he should. Davis has been all over TV over the years, as well as on stage, and in music, dating all the way back to the early ’70s. And while we watched him on such classic comedies, we couldn’t help but notice that he was quite the looker! In honor of Black History Month and our weekly task of showing love to the good-looking brothas from back in the day, we’re showing love to Mr. Davis, his talents, and his killer afro from back in the day.
If you’re new to the site you might not know about the vintage evening eye candy series that we do during Black History Month. Instead of highlighting the usual tenderonis, we take a look back at handsome movers and shakers from the past. We’ve done Billy Dee Williams, Harry Belafonte, Calvin Lockhart and quite a few other names. Today we’re bringing the feature back for another Black History Month with Jackie Jackson (aka, Sigmund Esco “Jackie” Jackson), the older brother of our beloved Michael. He is the second oldest child in the family and was the oldest member of the Jackson 5. He didn’t play the guitar like Tito or Jermaine, or have the killer moves and voice of Michael–but he was the eye candy of the group. If you didn’t know that, keep flipping to see more images and proof of his good looks, and to learn more about the Jackson brother with the falsetto voice.
We haven’t done one of these in a while! But what better way to come back than with Stephen Bishop’s gorgeous self? We peeped the 42-year-old actor on BET’s Being Mary Jane as Mary Jane’s ex-boyfriend, David, and we’ve been thirsting to see him come back on the small screen ever since. If you’re not familiar with his beauty, keep clicking…
I’m sure I’m not the only person who has no idea what the movie Pain and Gain is about starring Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and Anthony Mackie, but has an outrageous urge to run to the movie theater to see it the minute it comes out this week. Why? Because of The Rock of course. Since he signed on for this movie, that man has gotten bigger in muscle mass, grown a very alluring mustache and beard combination and is nice and tan all of a sudden, and I’m not sure about you, but it’s doing something for me. So much so that I felt the need to do another Evening Eye Candy slideshow for the brotha, who was one of the first pieces of candy we showed off back in 2011. And if this slideshow isn’t enough for you, I’d encourage you to do like me (his new stan) and become a follower of his new Instagram page, @therock. You won’t be disappointed!
Never has a guy made weight loss, in all its agony, look oh so good. If you are a fan of The Biggest Loser (season 14 just ended last month), you know this guy as the coach with the big heart and a way with words. You know he’s also the best looking coach on the show by a mile, with a body and buns of steel! We’ve been a fan since he joined the show in 2011, and we’re going to keep rocking with him in all his motivational glory so that we can get in our swimsuits this summer. But until then, shall we stare hard at the gorgeous body he has worked hard to keep looking flawless?
As sad as we all were to see Pooch Hall and Tia Mowry-Hardrict go from The Game, I can’t lie, the good looks of newcomer Jay Ellis helps to ease the pain. He is, of course, NOT a replacement for the lovable and fine Derwin Davis, but a whole new very interesting and very delicious looking new character by the name of Bryce “Blueprint” Westbrooke. In the season premiere, we got to see him flash a nice smile, get beat up and show off that very impressive body he’s clearly been working on while trying to get with Lauren London’s character of Keira Whitaker. So who is Jay Ellis? Click through our Evening Eye Candy gallery, get an eyeful of what he’s working with, and find out!
Just a week or two ago I was flipping through channels when I came across a movie called La Mission. Benjamin Bratt was the star, and his co-star was one of my favorite people, Erika Alexander of Living Single fame (Maxine Shaw, attorney at law). The movie was actually pretty great (about a father, an ex-con father, trying to cope with the fact that his son is gay), but more importantly, I couldn’t help but notice that even when covered in tattoos and hair, Benjamin Bratt looked like a bag of money (yes, a bag of money). And it made me go back and and look at images from his other movies, including the hilarious Miss Congeniality, the terrible Catwoman and the pretty good Love in the Time of Cholera. Delicious. So with that, I thought, why not explore this man’s fine-ness through an eye candy gallery? Check out what the actor is working with on the next few pages.
