“Basketball Wives LA” star Gloria Govan has been catching a lot of heat since the airing of part one of the reunion show from fans , co-stars and even executive producer Shaunie O’neal. In an exclusive interview with Necole Bitchie Gloria opened up about Shaunie and Evelyn’s response to her “If if weren’t for me, Basketball Wives LA wouldn’t exist” comments as well as Bambi’s accusations that she had been loving on rapper The Game and his crew. Check out some of what she had to say.

On Shaunie and Evelyn’s response to her “I’m the reason there’s a spinoff comment”:

“To Shaunie, she didn’t have anything directly to say, she kind of jumped on the bandwagon because she knows what’s up. In terms of Evelyn she needs to stay in her lane, I understand she’s on Shaunie’s side no matter what because that’s her home girl. Evelyn out of all people should understand how spinoff’s work”

“I knew if I had to respond to really anybody I was going to have to go into full length conversations, so I just left it all alone (on twitter). That’s how I felt about Evelyn, like girl you of all people need to stop talking, I don’t know if that headbutt got you all delusional or what but she knows what’s up.”

On Bambi accusing her of “getting around”:

“It’s really frustrating because they didn’t allow my response to Bambi be aired.  Bambi is not a cast member, she is not even on the opening credits, she’s just Malaysia’s friend.”

“It’s just really sh-tty to have someone lie on you, and then not be able to defend yourself or correct yourself to the point where people believe you. Its like the first person to the finish line kind of thing, like no matter how you get there, I think that whoever says some bullsh-t first is what people are going to believe. And rappers of all people, they lie on their package. I don’t mean to be vulgar. And Matt and Game were friends you know, so that was even more like damn that was a low blow. And it was frustrating to hear it from Bambi too because first and foremost I have never seen you a day in my life, ever, like I didn’t even know you existed before you came on this show. And so for her to be like “I saw her” you didn’t see me nowhere. I don’t even kick it, I don’t even know how to tell you how to get to Compton. So for her to take these fake-A$$ Compton rumors and try to make them relevant, is what’s really more frustrating. Even beyond that, that’s why I’m a prime example of why you don’t get on the producers bad side because they took this one little thing and just gave her a platform, just because your mad at me don’t try to water down my name.”

On if she’ll be returning to the show next season:

“No, I don’t think so. I think at this point I want to kind of branch out in terms of what I want to be doing next season and I don’t agree with the direction the show is going. There is more and more women on there, and I have the upmost respect for Bambi, my sister and Jackie. I just feel like the direction of the show is becoming more of a Bad Girls Club, then it is a Basketball Wives show.”

What is interesting however, is that The Game at some point did allude to having slept with Gloria and Matt openly stated that she cheated on him as well. Either way I suppose none of that matters now since Matt and Gloria are now happily married and whatever went down they seem to have put it behind them.

What do you think of Gloria’s response to the drama? Will you be sad to see her go if she doesn’t return next season?

“The View” With Sass? The Braxton Sisters Are Working On A Daytime Talk Show

November 9th, 2012 - By Brande Victorian

Source: WEtv

Everybody is trying to get in on the talk show business right now, including the Braxton sisters.  Millions of viewers already tune in to Wetv faithfully each week to watch Traci, Toni, Towanda, Trina, Tamar, and even Miss E argue, hug it out, sing, and plenty more, and now the sisters are thinking they can get just as many people to watch them on a daily talk show.

“Toni, Traci, Towanda and Trina are all in LA right now, pitching a talk show,” a Los Angeles TV executive told The Huffington Post. “Think ‘The View’ but with a lot of sass! There will be the Braxton sisters’ version of ‘Hot Topics,’ called ‘Spill the T,’ plus gossip, relationships, fashion, makeover segments and celebrity guests. They have even gotten their mom to do an ‘Ask Mommy’ advice segment. A fun, fun show.”

This actually doesn’t sound like a bad idea. The Braxtons are definitely entertaining and without Tamar, they should be able to keep things tame, yet entertaining, on the set without overdoing it. It will be interesting to see what network might be interested in picking this up as there aren’t any talk shows on air with a group of all-black hosts.  I like that idea.

It looks like the sisters are close to making this happen too. A family friend told HuffPost:

“Toni is totally into it, as is the rest of the family. They have somehow managed to secure Rob Dauber, a veteran of ‘The Rosie Show,’ ‘Oprah’ and ‘The Wendy Williams Show,’ to be executive producer and make them the next daytime hit. Plus, you know they are going to have one hell of a theme song!”

That is true. Would you watch a Braxton Family Values talk show?

Say It Ain’t So! Chad Johnson Arrested for Headbutting Evelyn Lozada

Well, this is not good.

Chad Johnson, receiver for the Miami Dolphins, was arrested Saturday night for headbutting his wife Evelyn Lozada, star of Basketball Wives, after they got into a heated dispute. According to police, the couple was at dinner when Evelyn confronted him about a receipt she’d found for a box of condoms. As they left the restaurant, the argument continued until they got outside of their home where Chad then headbutted her.

Evelyn called the police and Chad was charged with a misdemeanor for simple assault, domestic violence. He is being held until he can appear before a judge and Yahoo! reports that it might not be until Monday before that happens.  Evelyn was treated at the hospital for a cut on her forehead and then released.  The Miami Dolphins are aware of the situation and because most teams have rules about getting into such trouble, I’m sure they’ll have a few questions for Chad when they’re able to speak with him.

These two have had quite the fiery relationship from the very start and accusations of cheating have flown over them at many different times.  In fact, many were skeptical as to whether or not their July 4th wedding would actually happen (yes, they’ve only been married a month and a half).  Although you never want to see or hear about someone being abused, I would hope this isn’t yet another call for attention for their reality show.  Domestic abuse is really not something that should be taken lightly or played around with for ratings since many people deal with it (or have dealt with it) on a daily basis.

Neither of their reps have made any statements yet but I’m sure there will be something forthcoming.

We Never Thought We’d See The Day: Chad and Evelyn Are Officially Married

I don’t know that there was a single person on this earth who expected Chad and Evelyn to officially become Mr. and Mrs. Ochocinco— or Johnson (he’s legally changing his name back)— but it happened yesterday in Miami. How do we know? Because Chad was live tweeting throughout the Fourth of July ceremony.

The notoriously attention-hungry couple didn’t share many details about their wedding, which we’re sure is because there is going to be a whole show about it on VH1, but Chad did give us these candid thoughts via Twitter:

Live tweeting from my wedding… should be a first I’m assuming, music is playing, can’t see my guest right now but they’re here…#nervous

This is bull s***… I don’t recall sending the butterflies in my stomach and invite… and why am I shaking like I’m in Alaska. ???? #mandown

What if @EvelynLozada is a runaway bride when I get out there and I’m stuck looking good all by myself… did I mention looking good?

I’m breathing like a pregnant lady in lamaze class right now… I was hoping continuing to tweet with y’all support would calm me down…

Here we go…. Proverbs 18:22… I love you guys… If I do it right the 1st time I won’t have to do it again… Turn up…

I got my wife now it’s time to get my game back… @CoachC_C turn up I’m on the way to LA… football season is the honeymoon…

Y’all still there? How many times is Eve gonna change outfits… Is this normal to have more than 1 outfit besides the wedding gown?

Well…she’s on outfit #4 and i’m stuck in this damn tux

…i can’t believe i just got married

In sweeter moments, Chad also tweeted about the widowed Twitter follower he invited to their wedding, which we had no clue would be just around the corner, and uploaded a picture of the two. These are also the shoes he supposedly wore, which knowing Chad, I’m not surprised.

So far, that’s about all the info we have on these surprise nuptials but I’m sure there will be much more where this came from. Best of luck to the newlyweds!

Are you super shocked these two actually made it down the aisle?

Hail To The Power of The Petition: Summer’s Eve Pulls Out of ‘BBW’ and ‘Chad and Ev’

May 9th, 2012 - By Brande Victorian

Things are a lot less fresher on the “Basketball Wives” set because according to the anti-”Basketball Wives” petition on change.org, Summer’s Eve has pulled its advertising during the show and its expected sponsorship of the spinoff, “Chad and Ev.”

Petition creator Alexis M. posted the update on the change website yesterday along with an announcement that another company would be pulling its ads soon too.

“Just received a phone call from Summer’s Eve. They have decided to PULL ALL THEIR ADS from ‘Basketball Wives’ and upcoming ‘Eve And OCHO’!!!! YAY!

One other company has decided to pulled their ads from ‘Basketball Wives’ & ‘EVE And OCHO’ but they ask me not to announce it yet. I will name that company next week.”

Popular Critic points out that advertisers pulling out of the shows is only half of VH1 and Shed Media’s problem. Viewership of the once-popular series is also declining. Basketball Wives’ ratings have slipped from a season 4 debut of  2million viewers, to an average of 1.87 million viewers and now 1.74 million, according to Futon Critic. A lot of women probably stopped watching the show on their own after the slap heard around the reality TV world aired, but the notoriety of Alexis M.’s petition is no doubt playing a huge part in the decline. Just a few weeks into its effort, the boycott has already garnered 23,500 signatures.

These ladies might want to start exploring new career options.

17,000 Signatures And Counting: ‘Chad and Ev’ Boycott Moves On To VH1 Advertisers

May 1st, 2012 - By Brande Victorian

Source: Mrsgrapevine.com

In only a matter of a week, Alexis M.’s petition to boycott “Basketball Wives’” spinoff “Chad and Ev” has gone from 691 signatures on day 1 to 17,546 and counting, and now the creator is ready to turn up the heat.

Initially, the goal was simply to have supporters sign the petition and send e-mails to VH1′s CEO, now Alexis is attempting to not only hit Chad and Evelyn where it hurts but the entire network by going after its advertisers. She’s asking those who want to see this program off the air to send letters to companies that support the show through advertising or to stop buying these company’s products all together. Advertisers include Summer’s Eve, Garnier, Twix, Progressive Insurance, Bounty, Pepsi, Proactiv, General Motors, and Burger King, who Alexis reached out to personally. In a petition update, she wrote:

“I’m currently waiting on Burger King’s president to return my phone call. I sent him all the video footage of the ‘Basketball Wives’ violence. Burger King didn’t even know what ‘Basketball Wives’ is. The secretary was polite enough to view some of the video footage of the violence.”

There were reports that all of the organized backlash that’s come against the show since Jennifer Williams announced her lawsuit was prompting VH1 and Shed Media to file a counter suit against her for contract violations regarding bad mouthing the series and doing press without permission, but Alexis says she’s contacted VH1 and found out those rumors were false. So, without any official word from VH1 or Shed yet on these movements, it’s hard to tell what will come of the efforts but VH1 has to be just a little bit—or a whole lot—nervous about losing their “Basketball Wives” empire at this point.

Will you boycott products from these advertisers that support the show?

Ratch on Ratch on Ratch: 6 Questions I Need Answered About Basketball Wives

April 28th, 2012 - By MN Editor

I love it. The weekly ratchedness and overly-dramatic woman-on-woman violence that is Basketball Wives. The show is as entertaining as it is irrational. Seven non-Basketball wives thrust into a forced social circle, who throw bottles of champagne at one another over such trivial accusations questions like “why you talking about me behind my back??” To which another less ratchet non-mother effin factor will respond “Uhhhm…cuz that’s the only way the producers will sign my check.” It’s all good because in reality tv land, nothing makes sense although we’d like to think that it should. These are the questions that pop up over and over again as I watch Basketball Wives.

Non-Mother Effin’ Fans Start Petition to Boycott ‘Chad and Ev’

April 25th, 2012 - By Brande Victorian

Source: Realitytea.com

Uh oh. Evelyn’s shenanigans are starting to catch up with her. Viewers of “Basketball Wives” who are tired of the table hopping and bottle throwing are attempting to get Evelyn where it would hurt the most—her wallet. Seeing that it’s unlikely VH1 would get rid of it’s lead character on BBW, these fans want viewers to boycott the reality TV star’s new spinoff show with fiancé Ochocinco, “Chad and Ev.”

Alexis M. is the creator of the Change.org petition encouraging people not to watch the upcoming show, and here’s why.

“Evelyn Lozada is a bully. The violence on ‘Basketball Wives’ is horrible and disgraceful,” Alexis wrote on the petition. “This is not a hate petition against Eveyln Lozada. We simply will not support violence. It hurts to see violence amongst women on television for entertainment purposes. It is not OK for women to hit each other on TV.”

Yesterday, Sister 2 Sister reported that 691 people had signed the petition. Since the site is down for scheduled maintenance today it’s not clear if that number has increased, but considering the amount of criticism “Basketball Wives” has garnered from the beginning and the increasingly erratic behavior Evelyn has displayed in the past few weeks, I’m sure it has. A couple of signers also left comments with their signature, calling out Evelyn and Chad for their foolishness.

”[Ocho] has young children, and this woman has thrown glasses, bottles and ran across a table like she’s a part of a wild animal park,” Carolyn pointed out. “Will she put on her fake smile and act the proper stepmom? Too late, she’s already shown her true colors and they are ugly. She deserves no show.”

“Evelyn is an embarrassment to women and she has no morals. She’s a bully and attacks people who are afraid of her. If VH1 supports her i can no longer support VH1. She is a low class, gold digging bully.”

“I find it strange Evelyn is boycotting Jennifer Williams for doing the right thing. I’m happy she’s being boycotted for doing the wrong thing.”

Beyond the petition, the creators are also asking viewers to contact VH1′s parent company Viacom to express disgust with Evelyn’s actions. Guess we’ll have to see how quickly the word spreads—and how Evelyn reacts. Considering her and Ochochinco are supposed to earn $300K a piece for this show, I can guarantee she is not happy.

Will you sign this petition to boycott “Chad and Ev?”

All-Star Quotes from the ‘Basketball Wives Reunion’ Part Two

First of all, can we just address the randomness that is John Salley hosting the “Basketball Wives Reunion?” I get it, he’s an ex-NBA player, but still…random. This second part of the reunion special  brought on a couple extra ladies and of course more drama. Check out some of the more interesting quotes from the show!
