The Estée Lauder brand recently announced that it signed actress Eva Mendes to represent the brand’s New Dimension transformative skincare collection. The successful actress and new mom will appear in digital, TV and print advertising campaigns debuting in Fall 2015 and New Dimension will launch globally beginning July 2015.

Nowadays women are looking to transform their appearance and feel beautiful in a healthy way. The skincare collection features New Dimension Shape + Fill Expert Serum and New Dimension Expert Liquid Tape.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Eva to the Estée Lauder family to represent New Dimension skincare,” said Jane Hertzmark Hudis, Global Brand President, Estée Lauder. “As an actress, businesswoman and now a mother, Eva understands the power of transformation that is at the heart of our new approach to beauty. Eva’s warmth and approachability will help us share this incredible story with women around the world.”

“Since my teenage years, I have always admired Estée Lauder, the woman and the brand,” said Mendes. “I’m excited to represent New Dimension skincare because I can relate personally to what it stands for – the power we have as women to take control and transform our own beauty.”

Here is an excerpt from the Estee Lauder Site:

“I’ve always loved how I could transform myself by just highlighting a certain area and playing down another area. It’s probably what was attractive to me about becoming an actress—the art of transformation.” Mendes is a pro at getting into character for a new role, and has shaved her eyebrows and even gone blonde to bring a certain level of authenticity to her projects. (“I’m an awful blonde!” she insists). It’s a skill that has served the 41-year-old well as she undergoes the personal transformation of becoming a new mom.

“My baby just started sleeping through the night so I have little more time for my beauty ritual,” she reveals of her daily routine that includes our New Dimension Shape + Fill Expert Serum and New Dimension Expert Tape, new-to-market skincare products that firm, tone and tighten the look of skin for enhanced visible definition, density—and confidence-induced perspective. “My face is changing,” admits Mendes. “And I want to be able to embrace that process.” Here, the products’ ambassador provides her own angle on the important stuff—that being deep dish pizza and the luxury of sleeping in.

Eva Mendes is Giving Marital Advice?: Says Sweatpants Cause Divorce

March 20th, 2015 - By Rich

I’m all for women strengthening women and providing advice…but sometimes, folks really need to stay in their lane. Eva Mendes is getting some side eyes and laughs for her recent comments about marriage.

“Ladies, number one cause of divorce in America, sweatpants, no!” declares the new mom.

Pulling a Golden Brooks from Hollywood Divas, I did my best to hold my judgement until after I checked her credits. As I expected, she’s not married.

Now of course you don’t have to be married to have an opinion about what makes one last. Coming up on my third wedding anniversary (my guy and I have been together for seven years total), I love speaking with women from different walks of life about love, commitment and what it takes to make a relationship work. In most cases, the best advice I receive are from married and divorced women. The emphasis here is on the fact that they are or were once married.

“Did she bump her head after delivery and think having someone’s baby automatically made her a wife?” snapped one of my friends.

“Why do you care about what this woman says?” questioned my husband. “I love you regardless of what you wear. Is she even married?”

Marriage isn’t for everyone, but how are you going to speak on a topic you have no experience with–or where your resume falls short? And if you really think sweatpants are the number one cause of divorce, how come all of your outward efforts to keep things sexy in your relationship hasn’t made you Mrs. Ryan Gosling? Perhaps Eva should ask some of her married friends what’s their secret instead of assuming she has the answers.

While I do agree folks need to many an effort for their partner, that goes for the wife and the husband. I’m personally not into designer labels, but do try to keep myself looking nice for myself and my man. Seeing as I work from home, I don’t really dress up during the day, but do have casual outfits that look nice. I personally don’t see anything wrong with sweatpants and don’t think they are the downfall of a marriage. If Eva was married, perhaps she would understand it’s about the commitment and not the sexy outfits in your closet. Many marriages fail because they don’t have the proper foundation–and I’m not talking about the kind you put on your face.

Every marriage is different and has their own priorities. I could and can satisfy my man in a pair of sweats with my hair tied up. Aside for the love I have for him, I keep my husband quite happy with multiple home-cooked meals throughout the week and some nooky whenever we both have energy after keeping our 14 month old entertained. While I believe I have a healthy marriage, I can’t blanket all unions together. I will however repeat some funny advice I received before our nuptials: “a man is happy when his stomach is full, and his balls are light.” It kinda makes sense.

The bottom line is if Eva really thinks sweatpants and outward appearances are the downfall to a marriage, she might want to focus on her priorities instead of giving advice on a topic she’s obviously clueless about.

Update: Since her comments in the interview, Mendes took to her Instagram to post her “favorite pair of sweatpants” along with an apology for the misunderstanding. Some would consider this backtracking but hey, if you put things out there these days, it’s bound to get a response. What’s interesting however is her interview in the April issue of Women’s Health Magazine. When asked for advice on parenting, the star replied, “I don’t feel like I earned the right.” Now isn’t that ironic because she has a daughter which would make sense for her to comment about something she knows, something that’s her life.

Still Hot: Actress Eva Mendes On Being A New Mom At 40

Eva Mendes gave her first post-baby interview. The actress talked to her longtime friend Cassandra Huysentruyt Grey, of Violet Grey, about life as a new mother, her beauty regime, and about her clothing collection for New York & Company…

Eva Mendes is habit-forming. Once you place her in front of a camera, you’ll want to do it again. The Cuban-born actress has captivated renowned photographers like Mario Testino, Steven Klein and Ellen von Unwerth as well as visionary filmmakers like Robert Rodriguez, Werner Herzog and Larry David.
In person, Mendes is elusive and cool, tough yet quietly vulnerable — in short, she’s the type of woman you can’t help but fall a little bit in love with. Unfortunately however, the competition is about as tough as it gets. She has been with actor Ryan Gosling for years, but in true Eva fashion, she won’t disclose how long they have really been together. Thus, it wasn’t surprising to learn they welcomed a daughter, Esmeralda Amada, in September. “I’m completely exhausted,” admits Mendes of becoming a first-time mom at 40. “I thought my wild nights were over but these are some of the wildest nights I’ve ever had.”

E.M.:[Laughs.] I think I’m just exhausted as a new mom. Maybe you’re mistaking that for being calm.

E.M.: I’m doing it without a nanny for now but I’m open to the idea of having a nanny in the future. Esmeralda has two amazing grandmothers and incredible aunties who come over and really help me. But as far as a nanny or a night nurse, for me that part of being a mother at this early stage is the struggle of not being able to sleep and not knowing what I’m doing and really going through it with her and battling out those nights.

E.M.: Constantly.

E.M.: We actually did. We were really excited about naming her.

E.M.: We both love the Esmeralda character from the Victor Hugo novel The Hunchback of Notre Dame and just think it’s a beautiful name. Her middle name is Amada, which was my grandmother’s name. It means “beloved” in Spanish.

In the editorial accompanying the interview, Eva is captured in one of her own designs for New York and Company.

The actress revealed to Grey, “I love a waist. I love a beautiful dress. When I am designing with my partners I try to think about the woman I’m designing for, where she’s going, what her life is like. That’s why I don’t design jeans or many pants. I think the easiest way to make a woman look beautiful is to put her in a dress that fits her properly.”

Eva is wearing the Coral Clusters Maria Dress from her holiday collection, available for purchase and online the first week of December. The dress is priced at $100. New York and Company celebrated the one year anniversary of Eva’s collection for the retailer this past September.

Taraji gets naked for PETA

Taraji P. Henson watched a documentary that made her view the world a little bit differently. After watching a film which detailed how animals are tortured for their fur, the Oscar nominated actress decided she wouldn’t wear fur again. Not only that she joined the People for Ethical Treatment of Animals in their anti-fur campaign.

Taraji told PETA that she used to wear fur. “But I saw this documentary, and I was riveted. I cried. I don’t think a living being should suffer for the sake of fashion, period. You don’t have to kill an animal just because you want to be hot and fly. And I really stand by that.”

When her ad is unveiled during PETA’s fashion week on February 10th, she’ll join the likes of celebrities like Chad Ochocinco, Nia Long, and Eva Mendes who took it all off for the campaign.

Check the video from the photo shoot below:

Do you wear fur? Is wearing fur the same as wearing leather or eating meat?
