Twenty years ago, in 1992, Damien “Football” Williams’ name was all over the news. The 18 year old was caught on video tape attacking a white trucker, during the LA race riots.

Williams was identified from computer enhancement of the videotape that revealed a unique tattoo. Williams was charged with attempted murder as well as assault and mayhem.  In 1993, Williams was convicted of mayhem and misdemeanor assault and was sentenced to 10 years. In 1997, Williams was released for good behavior, but in 2003, he was convicted for the 2000 murder of a drug dealer. He will not be eligible for parole until 2019.

Lady Soul, Aretha Franklin, is letting it be known that she has picked what she calls a “strong contender” to play her in an upcoming biopic.

Yep, you read it here. The multiple GRAMMY® Award-winner is eyeing actress Audra McDonald, who was spotted my Franklin when she attended “Porgy and Bess” on Broadway. It was the Queen of Soul’s first time seeing McDonald in a play. She was very impressed with her performance and expressed an interest in her for the role.

Check out McDonald’s picture (if you don’t recognize her name) and find out why Franklin thinks she’s so qualified at Eurweb.com.

From Eurweb.com

*It’s all over for Rosie O’Donnell and Oprah Winfrey’s OWN. “The Rosie Show” is being ditched by the network five months after it initially aired.

The show premiered in October to about 500,000 viewers but lost about half that audience within days of its debut.

To no avail producers tried changing the show’s format. It went from taping before a studio audience to a one-on-one interview setting with celebrities such as Kathy Griffin, Chelsea Handler and former Illinois first lady Patti Blagojevich.

Read both Rosie and Oprah’s reactions to the  news at Eurweb.com.

Oprah Responds to Criticism Over Bobbi Kristina Interview

TMZ is really a trip.

There are plenty of people who would argue that the gossip-driven news organization is not a credible source. But time and time again they prove that they’ve got the information we all want to know. I know I personally became a TMZ believer when they were the first to officially report that Michael Jackson had passed away. And it seems, since then larger news organizations from CNN to ABC News, often use them as a source.

The “news” organization caught up with media mogul Oprah Winfrey and asked her how she thought the Bobbi Kristina interview went and how she responds to the criticism of it.

Take a look at what she had to say at Eurweb.com.

Spike Lee Suggests People Write to Wesley Snipes in Prison

So Wesley Snipes doesn’t exactly have the best track record when it comes to black women. (He said a thing or two about our attitudes…) But really that doesn’t stop me from feeling some major sympathy for him and his tax situation.

Three years in prison for taxes is really rough. Especially if you’re not guilty, like Snipes claims he isn’t.

Either way, Spike Lee, who directed Snipes in “Jungle Fever”, just visited Snipes in prison.

Find out what he had to say about Snipes’ condition and what we can do to uplift his spirits at EurWeb.com.

Quite a few of us common folk and even a few celebrities (see Perez Hilton) were a little peeved about what seemed like a sham marriage between Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries. As you may recall the couple divorced just 72 days after being married. (Womp.)

Well, since Kris and Kim wouldn’t be putting any of those wedding gifts to use, Kim has decided to donate the worth of her gifts (and then some) to charity.

Kudos Kim.

Find out how much her gifts were worth and how much she actually donated at Eurweb.com.

Aww pooey! I’m not going to lie, I didn’t watch the Republican debates but I would definitely tune in (at least once) to see Herman Cain compete on “Dancing With the Stars.”

Unfortunately, that’s not going to happen. While the former presidential candidate was invited by DWTS producers, Cain  declined.

Find out why at EurWeb.com.

Would you have watched Herman Cain on Dancing With the Stars?

Sheryl Underwood To Appear on the Young and the Restless

February 6th, 2012 - By MN Editor

Sheryl Underwood is really making moves for herself these days. In addition to her gig on CBS’ “The Talk,” Underwood will also appear on The Young and the Restless. Underwood has long been a fan of the soaps so this was a dream come true for her.

Underwood recently chatted with TV Guide Magazine about her experience. See what she had to say about her soap opera stint:

TV Guide Magazine: How far back do you go with Y&R?

Underwood: Waaay back, baby. Back to when David Hasselhoff was Snapper and Mrs. Chancellor was the baddest Itchbay on TV. She was doing fight scenes long before Alexis and Crystal on Dynasty. Oooh! Remember when John fell in love with Mamie, his black housekeeper, but it was too scandalous so she was given a million dollars and sent away on an ocean cruise? Remember when Drucilla was doped up on cough medicine and Malcolm had sex with her?  Love! This! Show! I love The Bold and the Beautiful. I love John McCook. I love Susan Flannery.  I love everybody on every soap. I love SoapNet. I’m a fanatic!

TV Guide Magazine: So how’d you do in your big suds debut?

Underwood: I was so nervous, I couldn’t eat and I couldn’t sleep. It takes a lot of mental dexterity to do a soap, but it was just phenomenal. A few days before I did my scenes I was performing in Washington, D.C., at the D.C. Improv and Debbi Morgan [Y&R's Harmony] came to see my show. I told her to tell the people at Y&R that I was not coming in intending to be funny and that I would not be needing a billion takes. I was concerned that maybe they wouldn’t think I was taking this seriously because I’m a standup comic. I was dead serious and needed them to know that. I want to do that show again! Who else needs marrying in Genoa City?
