Style To Steal Or Girl, Stop: Alicia Keys, Solange, Estelle & More!

Another week, another opportunity to showcase or skewer the unique looks of the stars. Who was looking fabulous in their attire and who was looking like a fail? Let’s take a quick look and find out.

WENN

Solange Knowles

I know what you’re thinking: “Solange is in a “Style To Steal” damn near every week! Well, I blame her for being a mainstay on red carpets and staying out of the house in her most stylish stuff. This week, Knowles showed up at the Ermenegildo Zegna ‘Essenze’ Collection Launch event in NYC in this champagne dress with two slits in the front that showed off her toned legs. The sleeveless jersey dress was accented with strappy snakeskin heels, a gold cuff, a variety of rings, and a square gold and white clutch.

I love the idea of Solange’s big hair, and I do appreciate the size, but as for the consistency of the curls, it could be a bit more uniform. But her look as a whole is hot! Very disco ’70s with a modern flair and the make-up is flawless! Winner in my book. Steal!

Style To Steal Or Girl, Stop: Cassie, Halle Berry And More Get Embellished!

It’s fall! So away with the bright colors and let’s bring out all the clothing with character! That’s right, I’m talking about all things–dresses, jackets and more–that are embellished to the nines. These ladies got beaded and braided up in their ensembles this week, and the results? Well, that’s up to you and your fashion sense. Let’s proceed.

Diddy’s girl Cas-boogie showed up for Paper Magazine’s 8th Annual Nightlife Awards in NYC wearing this leather mini-dress that definitely turned heads. The leather Balmain shirtdress was embellished with ornate beading and stitching, a high collar. The gold, black and white combination was paired with strappy gold and black heels.  The hair was in a side ponytail that was bumped in the back (and made uber cute with a bang), and she accessorized with gold bangles and a watch. I absolutely love this look! And that includes the makeup and the hair (good to see that half-shaven ish finally being covered up). It’s a laid back type of outfit in the fact that it’s a simple shirtdress, but with the leather and all the ornaments, it works for the event. Steal!

Video: Lil Kim Shows Off Her Curves and Estelle and Robin Thicke Rock BET’s Rip the Runway

Did you check out BET’s “Rip the Runway” show last night? No? Yeah, I missed it too. But Lil Kim made a comeback in a sequin and see-through jumpsuit and in yellow stilettos that were as tall as her hair. She not only performed her new single, “If you Love Me,” but she also took us on a walk down memory lane with her verses on “It’s All About the Benjamins,” and “Crush on You.” If you want to get people to be on your side, going for the oldies but goodies is always the best idea. Can’t lie, I was rocking with her:  “You can slide on my ice like the Escapade, and itchy-gitchy-yaya with the marmalade!” Classic.

And can we talk about the outfits the models were wearing during the performance? They were maaaad cute! But anywho, check out her performance and skintight outfit below, as well as our girl Estelle’s and the oh-so smooth Robin Thicke telling us not to worry our pretty little hearts.  Let us know your thoughts. Thanks!

Style to Steal or Girl, Stop: Rihanna’s VERY Revealing Sweater & Estelle’s Artistic Dress

March 12th, 2012 - By MN Editor

It sure was an interesting weekend when it comes to the fashion choices of some of our favorite stars. If you don’t believe a sistah, check out the photos of Rihanna and Estelle below (though Rihanna’s look is from today actually) and tell us if you would steal these ladies looks or if they should stop.

Looks like Rihanna was just as confused by this warm meets breezy NYC weather as we are, because while walking the streets today, she put on this scandalous see-through sweater and jeans as photogs snapped away. But there was no way to hide once she was out on the sidewalk (though she tried). She paired the confuzzled sweater with a pair of ripped-up blue jeans that were rolled at the bottom, Timberland boots, a large gold cuff, hoops and a thin gold necklace, as well as some paparazzi-ready shades and her signature claw-like nails.

Video: Melanie Fiona Kills “4 AM” on Jimmy Kimmel & Estelle Says “Thank You” on Letterman

First of all, can I say I love the yellow pumps she’s rocking? In fact, the whole outfit is pretty cute, even the cheerleader ponytail is on point too. But anyway, Melanie Fiona, one of our favorite people, hit up Jimmy Kimmel’s sound stage to serenade a stiff crowd and her fans with “4 AM” LOVE, love that song (is your lover creeping with a dancer? Let’s hope not), and the performance is pretty awesome as well. This girl’s voice does not waver and is undeniably strong. I’m really going to need people to stop sleeping! Be sure to pick up her new album, The MF Life on March 20, but in the mean time, tell us what you think about Ms. Fiona and the track after you check out the video below:

As for our girl Estelle, she showed up looking pretty gorgeous in a floor length white gown and her fabulous dark red hair to sing her track, “Thank You.” This song is not bad to me, but live, Estelle seemed to sing it in a timid way and at times she did more yelling than singing. Not sure why, but I’ve heard her do better. Either way though, can’t deny she looks great! Check her out on Letterman’s stage and tell us your thoughts on the song and performance. And don’t forget to pick up her new album All of Me, which just was released:

Love these jams?
