Well hellooooooooo diva!

Solange Knowles is in the pages of the newest issue of Entertainment Weekly in all afro and long-haired fur glory, speaking on her love of the simple life, her hopes to head back down South soon, and her son Julez’s hopes to rap (blame it on his uncle).

In a short excerpt from the full interview, Knowles discussed all the work she put into her new critically-acclaimed EP, True, including all the money she spent out of her own pocket to pay for videos (including “Losing You”) and to create the EP as a whole. This was all done so that Knowles could finally have full creative control over her work, saying, “Every decision that’s been made behind this record, from the exact color of the album’s artwork to what record stores we put the record in, has been made by me.” And the results for the new, take-charge way of leading her life and career have been great. Many of Knowles’ upcoming shows to promote the EP have been sold out, and she has become part of the sartorial elite, being named one of Vogue’s Best Dressed last year and a fashion forward chick constantly killing it on the red carpet, creating her own lane outside of what people expected from her (which was to follow Bey’s lead). Great idea.

But an idea Knowles isn’t too sure about is whether or not she wants Julez to get into the entertainment industry. However, lil man has already started writing down his flows, and Solange showed off some of what he had written so far. Soooo cute:

“You don’t know how to rap/You’re so fat, like a rat in a mousetrap/You got a pen?/No? I didn’t think so/I’ll get you one if you know how to flow, yo/You got a pocket? I didn’t think so/Because you’re like an armadillo in the road, bro/Have you seen the movie hunger games?” And then it stops there.

But those rapper plans may need to go on hold for now, as his famous mom hopes to leave Brooklyn and move back South in the next few years. Blame it on her H-town roots…and the warm weather.

“I’m such a Southern girl. I plan on moving back in the next year or two, when it makes sense for Julez schoolwise. I think either Austin or New Orleans. Somewhere warm, for sure.”

Check out the full interview by picking up the newest issue of Entertainment Weekly, but until then, you can see the full excerpt on their website.

Already A Winner: Quvenzhané Wallis Does Entertainment Weekly And Talks Being A Triple Threat

Suit and tie swag! 2013 is the year of Quvenzhané Wallis, the youngest Oscar nominee ever (at just a wee nine years old), and to kick off the Oscar race right, the star of Beasts of the Southern Wild is one of three actors to get a cover panel in the magazine’s new Oscar issue. She’s in good company, smiling amongst legendary actors like Daniel Day-Lewis and new “It” girls like Jessica Chastain. Wallis was on her cover panel wearing a suit and tie, and inside the magazine she looked absolutely adorable in a floor-length halter gown and top hat. Too cute for school.

Wallis also had the chance to sit down with Ann Curry (yes Ann is still making moves, no need to shed any more tears for her) on the news program Rock Center to discuss her favorite music, how she felt when she got the call that she would be nominated for an Academy Award , as well as her future. The cutest part of the interview is definitely at the end when Wallis talks about her love for Demi Lovato, Beyoncé, and Justin Bieber and sings “Boyfriend” for Curry. Because Wallis’ singing skills wound up being pretty strong for a nine-year-old, Curry told her that she is a triple threat. And when asking if Wallis knew what that meant, she replied, “That means you do three things and try to do it at once. Like a 3-in-1 shampoo. Yup, I’m a 3-in-1. Triple threat!”

If you can’t get enough of this cutie, pick up the Oscar issue of Entertainment Weekly which is on stands now, and feel free to check out her full interview with Ann Curry and Wallis’ Beasts of the Southern Wild co-star, Dwight Henry down below.

As If! Stacey Dash And The Cast Of “Clueless” Reunite

Confession: I love this movie!

When Clueless came out in 1995, you could not tell me I was not Stacey Dash among my group of white girlfriends in catholic school, and 17 years later I will still bust this movie out from time to time on a Saturday, no lie. For it’s special “reunion issue,” Entertainment Weekly got the popular crew back together from Cher (Alicia Silverstone), Josh (Paul Rudd), Dionne (Stacey Dash) and Murry (Donald Faison), to Christian (Jeremy Sisto), Travis (Breckin Meye), and even the full-on Monet Amber (Elisa Donovan).

The cast talked about how the movie essentially made all of their careers (even if attitudes, ahem, have gotten in the way for some of them along the way), and they talked about crazy it is that a movie that was expected to be a bust is still a cult classic almost 20 years later. Here are a few of the “secrets” behind the film that the cast revealed during their EW photo shoot and interview:

*Stacey Dash, who plays Cher’s best friend Dionne, was hardly a teenager at the time. “I was 27, and I was playing this high school student,” says Dash, “and I had a son at home who was six years old.”

*Everybody’s expectations were low. Says Faison, “When we were making the movie, you don’t think the movie’s going to be good. You think, I’m making the next License to Drive. You think this movie’s going to be just for teenagers and that’s it.”

*Over the years, the film’s cult following has come up with some odd interpretations of the film. “Someone came up to me once and — very serious and teary-eyed — said, ‘I just want you to know that when I saw Clueless and I saw Travis decide to go into a 12-step program, that’s when I decided to get sober.’ There was a part of me that was like, ‘Wow, that’s amazing.’ And there was another part of me that was like, ‘Are you serious? Because I’m pretty sure Travis might have relapsed. But I’m happy you found that.’”

Are you a closet “Clueless” fan?

Ruh-Roh: Chris Brown and Rihanna Release Two Collabos in One Night

Source: celebrityviplounge

Man, I can tell you right now that the Los Angeles Times, Entertainment Weekly and more are going to go in on Rih-Rih in the morning…

On her 24th birthday, Rihanna released a remix, aka, an extended version of her track “Birthday Cake” with Breezy on it. It’s very suggestive and at times a bit vulgar, but that’s ya girl Rih-Rih for you! She wants to make him her b**** and he can’t wait to “blow her candles out.” Looks like Rih wanted folks to know there’s no one else she would rather celebrate her birthday with. Well, alrighty.

Then on top of that, Breezy dropped the remix to his track “Turn Up the Music” and that joint was a bit more straightforward and fun.

One track is definitely rated R while the other is pretty PG 13. Either way, someone’s going to have a problem with this. And I’m sure Miranda Lambert is somewhere fuming in her cowgirl boots. However, it’s pretty clear Rihanna wants the world to stop trying to make her the “poster girl” for domestic violence (even though she got on TV and kind of did that herself). They’re on great terms obviously…but I can’t say this music is great. It’s aight.

But check out the link for the “Birthday Cake” remix below, as well as the “Turn Up the Music” remix video which is emblazoned with my favorite word, “YIKES!!!!!!!’ Oh, indeed…

Making Moves: NeNe Leakes Set for Recurring Role on “Glee”!?

December 22nd, 2011 - By MN Editor

I’m not a fan of Nene Leakes’ on-camera demeanor and attitude, but let’s be honest, somebody obviously is. You have to give her credit though because she is making some big moves and collecting some even bigger checks, and you know you’ve made it when you’re moving from ratchet reality TV to a popular, mainstream series on a non-cable network.

The outspoken and “rich” reality TV star has confirmed that she will have a recurring role on the show as character Roz Washington,  Sue Sylvester’s rival. Washington is a synchronized swimming coach for the school that will definitely be making waves. She’s already filmed her first episode and tweeted about her new gig:

“Studying lines now! My memory is just gone LOL! Gotta head right back 2 the Glee set after the holidays”

I don’t even really like Glee, but even I have to admit that this could be interesting knowing how crazy the Sue Sylvester character is, and also knowing how crazy NeNe is in general. If all goes well, she could be the black Gwyneth Paltrow on that joint, getting nominated for Emmy awards and singing at the Grammys. It also helps that some of her new co-stars are geeked about her new role and presence on the hit show. Entertainment Weekly reports that stars Chris Colfer and Lea Michele were all over her trailer when she arrived for filming. Looks like Glee is about to get some ATL swag.

So will you be watching?
