Mariah Carey’s diva behavior is legendary but back in 2001, the “Beautiful” singer hit a low point in her career following the release of her semi-autobiographical movie Glitter. After the film tanked, Carey was dropped from her record label. Posting ominous messages on her website to her fans, it was clear something was wrong with Carey. Succumbing to the pressures of the industry, Mimi had a public meltdown and went into treatment. Fast forward four years and a new record deal later, Carey drops The Emancipation of Mimi, which wound up being the biggest album of that year, and returns to superstar status.

Prince Charles first met Camilla Parker Bowles in 1970 at a polo match. Though they dated for a little while, both the Prince of Wales and Bowles went on to marry other people. Prince Charles’s fairytale marriage to Princess Diana was thoroughly publicized. So was their divorce and his extramarital affair with Bowles, who he began secretly seeing again in the 80’s. After his divorce was finalized in 1996, Prince Charles and Bowles kept their relationship out of the limelight, finally tying the knot in 2005.

While I was cruising through some of my go-to websites looking for news about black folks, I couldn’t help but to be sucked in by the sympathy seeking antics and non-stop drama of country singer LeAnn Rimes. If you know nothing about her current controversial relationship status, here’s a quick summary: Rimes was once married to her former background dancer, Dean Sheremet. On the other side of the table, actor Eddie Cibrian was at the same time married to Brandi Glanville (who can be seen dogging Cibrian on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills nowadays), the mother of his two children. When Rimes and Cibrian had to work together on the TV movie Northern Lights in 2009, there was a spark between the two, and they began an affair with one another that was discovered by Glanville and Sheremet, and the rest of the world, after Cibrian and Rimes were caught kissing on camera…when they weren’t shooting. In the end, the two left their partner for each other, and have seemed pretty happy (and sometimes lacking much remorse for their past cheating) ever since.
Well, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Rimes not only discussed the depression she went through after her affair was discovered and was heavily criticized (she says she wondered if she could ever go through with suicide at that time, but thankfully she realized that she couldn’t), and admitted that she’s afraid that how she got her man Eddie is how she could lose him–by cheating. When asked if she feared that he might step out on her, according to The Daily Mail, she admits that she has worried about it before. “I would be ignorant to say, and everyone else would think I am a liar if I didn’t say yes, and I have at times.”
Afterwards, she also put out there that though she’s had her worries, so has Eddie: “Speaking for him, I would actually say that’s creeped into his [mind].” But all in all, the singer says that they’ve gone out of their way to ensure each other that they deeply care about one another, so she can only hope that the possible pain they could cause the other would stop them dead in their tracks. “I think we’ve been very honest and open with that to each other and our conversations about it have only made me understand how much he actually cares, as much as I do, about being faithful to each other.”

Fame can be a good and bad thing. It can be good for the man who gets it, and bad for the woman who stands by his side through it all. While some women have been lucky to have their men stay committed to them as the spotlight gets brighter (think LeBron James and Savannah Brinson), others get distracted by all the good looking chicks throwing themselves at them and eff up. And when that happens, they leave their “ride or dies” for something that seems better. Well, the grass isn’t always greener on the other side (and hey, sometimes it actually is). Check out these 10 fellas who got on and left their longtime loves for one reason or another (including another chick who caught their eye).

Chris Bosh Leaves Allison Mathis, Marries Adrienne Williams
Just as a heads up, know that you’re going to see many a basketball player on this list. It seems they can’t hold it together when the money comes and the thirsty chicks step up. Anywho, Bosh was in a relationship with girlfriend Allison Mathis way back when he was playing for the Toronto Raptors and struggling to get some wins. They met in 2005 and according to the Toronto Star, she was a mainstay at his games for many seasons after that. But by 2008, she got pregnant and things fell apart. There were claims that he wasn’t taking care of his daughter, Trinity, and things got ugly. But luckily, after paternity cleared up, he started supporting his little girl. While he and Allison couldn’t make it last, Bosh found love soon after with his current wife, Adrienne Bosh, and the two married in 2011, giving birth to their son, Jackson, earlier this year. Speaking of marriage, in an interview with VIBE, Allison says they were supposed to make it to the altar first, but sadly, it didn’t happen.
“We talked about it; we actually got fitted for rings and everything. We talked about the different designs and everything so it was definitely in the plans. He, of course, told my mother and assured my mother, because my mother was very kind of against us having a baby before marriage. But he assured her; he told his mother and father, so a lot of my family and I were aware that it was going to happen and it just did not.”
