This Is No Joke: Comedian Kevin Hart Arrested For DUI!
I guess all the jokes in the world couldn’t stop this from happening.
TMZ is reporting that comedian Kevin Hart was arrested for DUI early this morning after almost having a huge accident.
Police say that around 4:30am/PT, Hart was driving on the 101 freeway in California at about 90 miles per hour. His erratic driving almost caused him to collide with a gas tanker but he was able to stop his Mercedes in time.
The California Highway Patrol pulled him over and while talking to him, he showed signs of intoxication and was unable to perform field sobriety tests.
Hart was arrested and booked in a local jail on a misdemeanor DUI charge. According to TMZ, he’s been there since about 6am/PT and is being held on $5,000 bond.
Update: Kevin has been released and sent out the following tweets:
Well, this is unfortunate. I mean, we all have a choice to not drink and drive (we can call cabs if necessary) but a celebrity – especially one of Kevin Hart’s magnitude – can just have a driver take them everywhere. There really are ways for them to avoid such silly arrests.
Hopefully, near or far from his home, Kevin won’t find himself in this situation again.
WTF News Of The Day: Rapper Too Short Runs From The Cops!
Okay, Short Dog must have really been “on one” to run from the cops.
Some nosy person had the good sense to get it all on tape and send it in to TMZ. In the clip, Too Short is seen speaking to police officers early Wednesday morning. He was pulled over for suspicion of driving under the influence and was asked to step out of the car. The police gave him a field sobriety test and according to TMZ, before he ran, they told him they were going to have to take him in on a DUI charge.
That didn’t sit too well with Short because after pretending to have a civil conversation, Short took off running!
But here’s the thing: he got nowhere real fast. The rapper tripped on the sidewalk and the cops were on him like white on rice. So embarrassing.
Bless his heart. Even if he hadn’t tripped, it didn’t look like he was going to get too far in his little spring.
To add insult to injury, the police also found drugs in his car and added a drug possession charge to the list. I wonder if they’ll hit him with “attempting to flee an officer” charge as well.
Some of these rappers, no matter their age, just don’t learn. At some point, you’ve got to know you’re too old for the bull.
By the way, Too Short did tweet about it:
Take a look at the video…and laugh. Nothing else we can do (by the way, the TMZ link actually has a better version than the video below they posted on YouTube)!
The Struggle Is Real: Bobby Brown Sentenced To 55 Days In Prison Following DUI Arrest From October

Source: WENN
After releasing new music, touring with New Edition, and getting married again to manager Alicia Etheridge, for a while there, we were starting to think that Bobby Brown had completely turned his life and circumstances around. But after earning his third DUI in October, it seems that we were wrong. The man known as much for his musical talents as for his legal problems and substance and alcohol abuse in the past is back in trouble with the law, and has been sentenced to 55 days in prison for another arrest for driving under the influence.
According to TMZ, Brown was pulled over in October in Los Angeles after being caught driving erratically and doing so on a suspended license. Said license was suspended because of a prior DUI conviction in 2012, and according to TMZ, he was convicted for another DUI before that in ’96. The singer was also caught without a court ordered breathalyzer in his vehicle that he was to have after those previous convictions. Brown tried to plead no contest to his charges after initially pleading not guilty, but on top of his 55 days, he was given four years worth of probation and ordered to participate in a much needed 18-month alcohol program. Brown is scheduled to turn himself in by March 20 and has also been ordered to go to multiple Alcoholics Anonymous classes each week until he’s officially locked down.
It’s definitely sad that Brown is still finding himself in and out of legal trouble for these types of things, but we all know that maintaining sobriety after many years of doing the complete opposite is no easy task. Here’s to hoping he’ll finally turn things around for himself and his family.
Too Much Partying:Tracy Mourning Arrested in Miami After Driving Under The Influence
Well, this a bit disheartening but nobody is perfect.
Tracy Mourning, wife of former Miami Heat player Alonzo Mourning, was arrested on Friday morning driving under the influence in Miami.
According to The Huffington Post, Mourning was clocked going 28 miles over the speed limit in Coconut Grove while driving her Porsche.
When a police officer finally stopped her a few blocks down, she’d apparently been swerving and she ran a stop sign.
At that point, the officer says Mourning then put on her charms and asked in a nice voice, “What did I do officer,” followed by a wink and then saying, “Was going fast, wasn’t I?” Okay so even at almost 4am and knowing she was wrong, Tracy tried to use the “bat your eyes” trick to get out of any trouble.
But the officer wasn’t buying it. He said her eyes were bloodshot, she was slurring her speech and reeked of alcohol. After failing a roadside sobriety test and refusing to take a blood alcohol test, she was then arrested.
No word yet on what time she was released and when she’ll have to appear in court. Her hair still manages too look good, even in the booking photo.
The Mournings have become pillars of the community in Miami where they spend countless hours giving back. Alonzo has been known for years to throw one of the best fundraising events in town with his “Zo’s Summer Groove.” Along with that huge money maker, the couple often scouts for other ways they can get back.
Hopefully, Tracy can get this taken care of and be extremely careful when it comes to drinking and driving (how about just don’t do it).
Honestly, how many of you still get behind the wheel even though you know you’ve probably had one too many drinks? Do you still get in the car with someone who you know has had too much to drink and let them drive?

Just last month Bobby Brown was bragging about being 22 days sober while simultaneously denying that he checked out of rehab early. Now with news that the New Edition singer has been arrested for yet another DUI, that point seems null and void. According to TMZ:
Law enforcement sources tell us, Brown was pulled over around 1AM when police observed the singer driving erratically on an L.A. street.
According to law enforcement sources, officers approached Brown’s vehicle and detected a strong odor of alcohol — at which point they asked Brown to get out of his car.
We’re told Brown performed a field sobriety test, but didn’t do very well — so he was arrested on suspicion of DUI. He’s currently being booked.
Though it’s much easier to get a DUI than some would think (just hit up a happy hour for one drink, drive home, and see what happens if you get pulled over) but the trouble here is this isn’t Bobby’s first time being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence — this year. Almost 7 months ago to the date, Bobby was arrested for a DUI in Reseda, CA after blowing between a 0.08 and 0.12 when pulled over.
A judge may give you a harsh slap on the wrist the first time you mess up but two DUIs in one year, plus a history of drug and alcohol abuse and rehab? New Edition might have to rework their material again because I don’t see Bobby being available for tour anytime soon. He needs to check into rehab for one of their lengthier stays.

SMH: Bobby Brown Arrested for DUI
Oh Bobby. Whitney Houston’s ex-husband was booked on suspicion of drunk driving yesterday after being pulled over by cops around noon in Reseda, CA. Bobby was intially pulled over for talking on his cell phone but cops must have smelled the liquor on him because they administered a field sobriety test and when Bobby blew somewhere between 0.8 and 0.12, depending on the new source, he was taken into custody.
Police say Bobby cooperated with the arrest, and no illegal items were found inside his car. Not long after the 43-year-old was taken directly to Van Nuys jail, his “people’ bailed him out, but he’s not totally out of trouble yet.
If Bobby is convicted of drunk driving, this would be his second DUI. In 1996, he was arrested in Georgia on suspicion of drunk driving and pled guilty to the charge, having to serve eight days in jail. Sixteen years later, the man still hasn’t learned his lesson.

Loophole of the Year: Billionaire Adopts Girlfriend to Protect Assets
When I first read that a billionaire had adopted his girlfriend, I thought he was on some sort of creepy Morgan Freeman-type ish, but turns out the adoption is a legal maneuver to protect assets in a pending civil suit.
John Goodman, founder of the International Polo Club Palm Beach in Wellington, Fl, is being sued for the wrongful death of Scott Patrick Wilson, a 23-year-old he struck and killed in a drunk-driving accident in February 2010. Wanting to protect his earnings, estimated at several hundred million dollars, the 48-year-old adopted his girlfriend of two years, Heather Laruso Hutchins, in October, putting money in a trust for the 42-year-old who is now his child, legally.
West Palm Beach Judge Glenn Kelley wrote in a court order that these moves “border on the surreal and take the Court into a legal twilight zone.”
“The Defendant has effectively diverted a significant portion of the assets of the children’s trust to a person with whom he is intimately involved at a time when his personal assets are largely at risk in this case.”
Goodman has two biological children but they’re under 35, the pre-determined age at which they can control their trust funds. Since Hutchins is over the age of 35, her adoption entitles her to a one-third beneficiary interest in the trust. Previously, the court ruled that the assets owned by Goodman’s children could not be considered as part of his net worth in calculations for assessing punitive damages, but with this adoption, the family of Scott Patrick says that should change.
On the flip side, Goodman’s attorney, Daniel Bachi, maintains that “Nothing in this arrangement with Ms. Hutchins is illegal.”
“Everything that has been done by Mr. Goodman was done with the intention to preserve and grow the assets of the Trust for his two minor children, even should he personally be unable to continue his historical role in achieving these goals.”
Even though Goodman has thrown the legal system for a financial loop, nothing can protect him from the potential 30-year sentence he could receive if convicted in the drunk-driving case. Goodman’s civil trial is set for March 27 and his criminal trial for charges of DUI manslaughter, vehicular homicide, and leaving the scene of a crash is on March 6.
What do you think about this legal move? Genius or creepy?

Meanwhile- Lindsay Lohan’s Lawyer is a Sister
While many were watching Lindsay Lohan weep in jail yesterday, after being sentenced to 90 days in jail, some of us noticed another person. Lohan’s defending lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley is a sister. And so is the prosecuting lawyer! Both women went back-and-forth in the courtroom fighting for the 24-year-old who sported a fancy curse word emblazoned on her fingernails. Once a partner for the Cochran Firm, Holley worked on the OJ Simpson case and currently represents Nicole Richie, Paris Hilton, the Kardashians and Shemar Moore.
