ABC Get Your Girl: Was Something A Little Off With Diane Sawyer’s Election Coverage Last Night?

I didn’t watch ABC for my election coverage last night, but I didn’t have to to know that something was going wrong on the channel and that something was Diane Sawyer. From viewers and tweeters alike, it appears Diane may have been having some celebratory shots, shots, shots, shots, shots, shots before the election results were even announced — and consequently her coverage was just a little bit…odd shall we say?

Now we know at 66, Diane isn’t exactly a spring chicken but the verbal delay and word jumble that was going on had a few questioning whether she might have been sipping on that lean to get through the long election night. From stumbling over Barack Obama’s name to asking for music before announcing President Obama won the vote in Minnesota to saying everyyyything verrryyyy verrrryyy sloooowly, Diane’s reporting seemed to be distracting at the very least, if not a major network faux pas.

There were some who were less shady and wondered if the veteran reporter might actually have been suffering a stroke or was dealing with some other illness, but because this isn’t the first time Diane’s been accused of throwing a few back before going on-air, of course that’s the explanation everyone is running with.

From looking at video, I can’t really call it, but George Stephanopoulos does seem to be looking at her like are we going to have to have to cut your camera in a minute?

Check out this compilation of suspect clips and tell us what you think. Was Diane on something?

First dates can be one of the most uncomfortable experiences for two conflicting reasons: 1) You don’t know each other well enough to be comfortable just being honest and 2) Even though that autonomy gives you the freedom to just climb out the bathroom window or say something rude if you’re not into him, your desire to be a decent human being stops you. So, if things aren’t going well, you become frozen.

Happy Hour Etiquette 101: How To Not Be Ratchet When Out Drinking With Co-Workers

Oh, the joys of the co-worker happy hour. It’s a good way to get to know other peers around the office in a relaxed environment that doesn’t involve beating each other to the coffee machine in the morning, exchanging emails and jumping from conference call to conference call without a moment in between.

Even though the office happy hour is an effective, informal way to be at-peace with the people you see every day, it has its limitations and “unwritten” rules. Always be mindful that even though your co-workers are nice and you should be comfortable around them, they are still connected to you FIRST on a professional level, so take heed to your behavior in relaxed surroundings, especially ones that involve alcohol and dim lighting!

As you get prepared for that next happy hour gathering with your fellow employees, keep in mind these important tips to make sure you leave behind a good impression and not a sloppy one.

Drunk Man Needs a Designated Driver, Enlists His 9-Year-Old Daughter

Many of us have been there: you’ve either been asked to hold the burden of being the designated driver for the night, or you’ve had the tough task of duping someone into being the DD so you can ditch taxi fees. But it’s safe to say that you wouldn’t look at your child, whether they’re over 16 or not (who cares?), and say, “Honey, you’re taking the wheel tonight.” But a Michigan man proved how low he could go. The man had his 9-year-old daughter, boosted up in her seat, drive her father to a gas station at 3 a.m. on October 8. According to CNN, the man was seen and heard on surveillance tape telling the gas station attendant, “She drives us here. Nine years old, in the truck, we’re here. She drove all the way here.” What a proud dad, huh?

Once the two got back in the car, a witness called police. During the call, the man told police she was staying on the road,  using turn signals, and that he couldn’t believe it. Now, could he not believe that she was driving altogether, or that she was a GOOD driver? That is the question (kidding). In the end, the daddy and daughter were stopped. The father refused to take a breathalyzer, and he was charged with one felony count of child endangerment, a misdemeanor count of child abuse and habitual-offender fourth offense based on previous convictions, according to CNN.

Daddy wasn’t the only one pissed off about being stopped and arrested it seems. When the cops pulled the two over, the little girl said to police, “What did you stop me for? I was driving good.” Judge for yourself though, because video of the little one driving at the gas station has been provided below, thanks to the good
