Style to Steal or Girl, Stop: Kelly Rowland, Rita Ora, Jessica Alba & More Stunt in London

Greetings Noirette stylistas and fashionistas! To be honest with you, this hasn’t been the most exciting week for fashion. For the most part, a lot of celebs flew overseas to London and thought they’d make their best fashion statements there. Most folks were caught out looking underwhelming, but these four celebrities wore fits that at least caught our eye and kept our attention. Time to figure out if they stood out for being hot or a hot mess. Let’s get started.

Hey hey now! Kelly Rowland attended the Glamour Women of the Year Awards in London this week where she picked up a “Woman of the Year” accolade for being “Best TV personality.” She stunned on the red carpet in this black and white Maria Grachvogel dress. The halter dress was a sleek number that gave the singer/TV personality the chance to showcase her toned arms. She kept the hair straight and sleek as well, wore a simple bangle with a few rings and large hoops and showed folks how to do the statuesque look to a T. Loving the dress, loving the hair (though I probably would have worn it up), and she just looks all around fab. Check out the back too! Steal.

It’s The Most Ratchet Time of the Year: The Ugliest Prom Dresses of All Time

I’ll never forget when I went to prom with my dad. Well, let me clear that up, he was just a chaperone and asked both my sister and I to come along to keep him company. He had never attended a prom and didn’t know what to expect. It should have been the norm: colorful dresses, happy teenagers letting loose and so on and so forth. But no, it was a hot ratchet mess. In this particular side of this particular part of this particular city, a majority of the students had their dresses made. You know a homemade prom dress when you see it–there’s less material to it. When the kids walked in the door, every piece of skin you could think of was out, the materials were hideous, and the guys were wearing hats with wrist watches on them…don’t ask. Yes, ratchet prom attire is becoming as American as apple pie, and to keep your child from going that route, have them look at this gallery. If not, good luck.

The “Where Are Your Damn Clothes” Dresses

Blame it on a school where students have to wear uniforms all year long, or just society’s lack of appreciation for clothing, but more and more young ladies are showing up thinking these kinds of dresses are hot. All you have to do is make an outfit and use the extra material…as the dress. If we can’t see all thigh, your entire stomach and the top and sides of your breasts, then you’re not committed to looking as ratchet as possible.

Tracy Reese Fall 2012 Collection Review: ‘The Bold and The Beautiful’

Fall – the favorite season of many fashionsitas  - is getting revamped thanks to Tracy Reese. The traditional dark color palette reserved for the season is updated by incorporating bright hues into the mix. Colors like orange, yellow, and many shades of purple were not only used as pops of color, but they also comprised entire outfits. Reese does a lot within this collection. For instance, she combines current trends into one look – color blocking and mixed prints – sticks to what she knows with lots of dainty dresses, and updates classic pairings like a t-shirt and skirt.

Reese’s collection is busy (in a good way), refreshing and holds on tight to color. If you’re a woman who has places to go and people to see, then click “Next” and check out some of the ensembles that Reese has created with you in mind.

"Jason Wu and One of His Dresses for Target"The hype for Versace for H&M has finally died down. This can only mean one thing. It’s time for a new fashion collaboration! Enter, Jason Wu for Target!

Teaser images of the collection surfaced last week, but the ENTIRE Jason Wu for Target collection was released on Tuesday. Mr. Wu (designer of Michelle Obama’s inaugural gown) has created pieces inspired by the femininity found in French new wave films. This inspiration can be seen in the details of the garments – chic separates, bows, aline skirts and nautical stripes galore!

“My goal was not to duplicate anything from my main collection,” Wu explains to T Magazine“Instead I designed completely new clothes and accessories that reflect my taste and have a voice of their own.”

As a bonus, the price is oh-so right for this dainty collection with nothing priced over $60! You’ll find Jason Wu for Target in stores starting February 5, 2012. We recommend developing a game plan now because these collaborations have been known to start cat fights over couture!

Check out the entire collection below:
