Engaged in Germany and married in Africa, Dallas Maverick’s Dirk Nowitzki and Jessica Olsson’s love is worldwide.

Jessica is the associate director of the Goss-Michael Foundation art gallery in Dallas and the couple met in 2009. In the past Dirk has talked about their relationship saying:

Jessica is probably the best thing that happened to me this year. After the incidents in 2009, I never thought that I would [fall in love again] so quickly. She is a great woman, smart and intelligent. Now let’s see just how that develops over time with us. It feels great in any case, we wait for what will come of it.

The NBA star popped the question on Valentine’s Day this year and Hello Beautiful is reporting that the two tied the knot in Kenya this weekend. Paparrazi isn’t exactly staked out in the motherland so there haven’t been any pictures from the nuptials yet. Jessica’s mother is Kenyan and her father is Swedish.

Dirk was engaged to a black woman before named Cristal Taylor. In 2009, she was sentenced to five years in prison for old forgery and theft crimes, effectively ending their relationship. The two lived together when she got arrested and she claimed to be pregnant with Dirk’s child. She wasn’t pregnant at all, but she did say she kept the 200-thousand dollar engagement ring he’d given her. Back then Dirk told the The Dallas Morning News:

I still want to have a family, but the wounds have to heal first. I want to raise a family and have a couple of small Dirks running around. But it will not be easy to win my heart.

Well, if he did get married this weekend then it looks like his dreams of having a family are beginning to come true.
