While chatting it up with Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club, Love That Girl actress Reagan Gomez revealed that she and her hubby have been a huge target for reality TV producers. She also opened up about marrying her husband at age 19 and a few of her upcoming projects. Peep some of the highlights from her interview below.
On marrying at 19:
“I got married young. I got married at 19. He was 18 when we got married. We were 18 and 19.”
“We’re really low key. I’ve been in the business a really long time, so has he. We’ve worked with everybody and you never hear crazy stories about us. We’re at home with our kids. That’s what we do.”
“No [we didn’t really have problems] We got together young, I was doing my TV show [Parenthood]. He was overseas modeling for like Versace and all kind of big stuff. This was before the blogs and we were both kind of on the same level I guess.
On reality TV:
“I’ve been approached so many times, me and my husband because my husband’s a producer. I love ‘Love & Hip Hop’ but I wouldn’t do a show where there’s a group of people that I don’t know. That just feels real fake and phony. If we ever did a show, it would be something like T.I. & Tiny or Lala’s show. Something where we have control. You not just gonna be editing the show, making me look crazy. I’m tired. I don’t have time to be fighting chicks that I don’t know. It’s just crazy.”
On whether or not monogamy is natural:
“I wouldn’t say that it’s not meant for a man to be with one woman, but I wouldn’t say I’m totally against polygamy being legalized. I mean if you have grown folks doing what grown folks do and everyone’s down for it, why not?”
“I don’t know if monogamy is natural, but I do think if it’s what you want, you work at it and if you wanna be with one person, you’ll do that. Whether it’s the man or the woman in the relationship, you work at what you really want and whatever you want, you work at what you have to do to accomplish that.”
Oh, how we here at Madame Noire love the kids! And we’re pretty sure you do too, because you always have the nicest things to say about the celeb babies we feature. We have a few more little ones to share with you today, and the first is little Miss Kennedy, the infant daughter of cutie Giants wide receiver, Victor Cruz. Kennedy, Cruz’s little girl with fiancée Elaina Watley, was born in January. As far as we can tell from those adorable thighs, she’s getting big pretty fast! Check out the pant-less yet fabulous baby with her happy family below.
Hank Baskett, born Henry Baskett III (“Hank” is a nickname I guess?), was seen out and about running errands with his son, two-year-old Henry “Hank” Baskett IV, in Cali yesterday. Boy has this little guy grown up! And check out all that hair. He’s definitely the perfect fusion of his mom and dad. Don’t you agree?
Speaking of a perfect fusion of their parents, you have to check out the very adorable Scarlett and Tyger Turrentine, the kids of actress Reagan Gomez and her husband, DeWayne Turrentine. Scarlett is five, and Tyger just turned one in April. Gomez-Preston is a dedicated working mom, and to talk about her adventures as a mother, she created a mommy vlog. Peep it out here. Can I say that I love this adorable family? I DO! Check out the cuties and their mother below.

It's hard to believe that Reagan Gomez-Preston is a wife and mother who has been married for 12 years! The 31-year-old actress, who got her start on The Parent 'Hood, is now working on the animated series, The Cleveland Show, and raising a daughter and son with her long time love DeWayne Turrentine. We caught up with the bubbly actress at Russell Simmons' Ubuntu Charity Benefit in Los Angeles. Watch as Reagan talks about her career, Madame Noire and watch her quiz her husband about the length of their relationship.
It’s hard to believe Reagan Gomez-Preston has already been married for 12 years. The 31-year-old actress wed husband DeWayne Turrentine of the rap group, Quo, in 1999 after dating for four years, and the couple now has two young children. With longevity like that, I’d say she knows a thing or two about building a happy, healthy relationship.
Juicy Magazine recently caught up with the young wife and mother at her home to see what advice she has for couples who are about to take the big leap. Here’s what she said:
Reagan Gomez-Preston: I’m not an expert and I don’t claim to be an expert. The best advice I’ve gotten is to keep people out of your business, whether that’s your mother, grandmother, sister, or just random people trying to give you advice. Sometimes women or guys want to listen to their friends over their spouse. No, you keep people out of your business and you work it out yourselves.
