That’s So Sweet! Jamie Foxx Working On Scripted Series Based On Relationship With His Daughter
Everybody knows how much Jamie Foxx loves his daughter Corrine, especially since she’s been his date for every single award show in recent memory. And we’re all pretty sure the 18-year-old is thoroughly embarrassed by her daddy’s crazy antics every single time they step out together — like when he hit on Kelly Rowland at the Oscars. Well, in a genius move, Jamie Foxx and TNT have decided to turn the pair’s father-daughter relationship into a new scripted series for the network.
Shadow and Act reported the news, saying the new show will be titled “Dad, Stop Embarrassing Me,” and will follow this premise:
Every teenager is embarrassed by his/her parents. But what if your dad decided to descend upon your life in every way? Inspired by Jamie Foxx’s relationship with his 18-year-old daughter, this comedy explores the dynamic between a parent and a child and all the embarrassment that comes with it.
S&A says Jamie Foxx will executive produce and handle scripting along with a couple other people, which means he’ll likely be completely off-screen rather than in front of it as we usually see. And even though the show is only based on Jamie’s relationship with his daughter, knowing that they’re the inspiration for the show I can’t help but wonder who could possibly pull off his part. Any thoughts?
Eazy-E Forever: Late Rapper’s Daughter Seeks To Firmly Establish His Legacy
It’s been 18 years since the death of Eazy-E but one person is not prepared to let his public image die.
E.B. Wright, the 22 year old daughter of the late rapper, is currently putting together a documentary about the life – and death – of her father, according to BET.com. E.B., a budding rapper herself, says that his legacy has not been properly represented and she wants to change that.
“A lot of people don’t know the truth behind his death. There’s definitely a story out there of how people think he died but a lot of it is a misconception, so I think it’s time to tell the story of exactly what happened.”
E.B. says that the documentary, tentative titled Ruthless Scandal, will have in-depth interviews with celebrities, family members, close friends and others who knew the “real” Eazy. Further, there will be interviews from doctors and lawyers as well as documents regarding the death of the rapper. As most of us know, Eazy reportedly died as a result of complications of the AIDS virus when he was only 31 years old. His daughter hasn’t stated whether or not she accepts this but she clearly has had more questions about it as she’s grown.
E.B. also envisions how important her dad would be were he still alive:
“He started all of this, and honestly I don’t even think his impact can be limited to the West Coast. I feel like, if my dad was alive today, he would be Jay-Z businesswise. He was a true visionary. He started the independent label, he started the idea of speaking your mind…”
Ruthless Scandal is currently slated for a 2014 release.

Keep Those Wedding Bells Ringing: Brandy Reveals Her Maid Of Honor In Upcoming Nuptials!
It sounds like wedding plans are slowly but surely starting to form for singer Brandy’s wedding to music executive, Ryan Press.
In an exclusive interview with Sister2Sister Magazine, Brandy revealed exclusively in the March 2013 issue that her maid of honor will be none other than…her daughter. That’s right, 10 year old Sy’rai will play quite the role in the big day:
S2S: Is your daughter Sy’rai going to be in the wedding? I assume she is going to be in the wedding.
Brandy: Since Sister 2 Sister is family, I’m just gonna tell you.S2S: So, she is going to be in the wedding?
Brandy: She’s my maid of honor.S2S: Oh gosh! I think that’s wonderful.
Brandy: So, y’all heard that first, honey. Sister 2 Sister exclusive.S2Se: Well, alright!
Brandy: And y’all wouldn’t even give me no coins for that. Just playing.
Well, isn’t that cute! Luckily for Sy’rai, her age will really help her in this scenario. As most of us who’ve been in a wedding before know, being part of the wedding party almost always includes financial contributions in order to have parties celebrating the bride and groom.
Perhaps her other friends like Shay (who was in the Norwood family’s reality show), Serena Williams and Kelly Rowland will serve as bridesmaids. She’s also close friends with Niecy Nash so there’s a chance she’ll be the matron of honor.
This will be the first marriage for both Brandy (don’t you all even start) and Ryan. We can’t wait to find out more deets!

Literally, Trapped in the Closet: Woman Arrested After Child Found Malnourished, Covered in Feces
Some people should not be allowed to have kids.
29-year-old Jacole Prince was arrested and charged with assault in the first degree, child abuse, and endangering the welfare of a child in the first degree after law enforcement found her ten-year-old severely malnourished, covered in her own urine and feces and locked in a closet.
ABC News reports:
The girl weighed just 32 pounds, and hospital records indicated that she has only gained 6 pounds since she was 4 or 5 years old, according to a police probable cause statement. The girl also suffers from “multiple healing skin injuries and failure to thrive,” the statement said.
“She weighed a little over a third of what a 10-year-old should weigh,” Kansas City Police Capt. Steve Young said. “We don’t know how long or how frequently she’s been in there [the closet], but it’s clear she’d spent a significant amount of time in there.”
Kansas City police met Missouri Children’s Division workers outside the apartment building Friday morning after the division received a hotline call about a girl who was locked up and unable to eat or use the restroom.
When a division worker told two women outside the apartment that three children lived in the apartment, the neighbors said they had never seen the third child even though they’d lived there for “several years.”
“We never knew of her the whole three years we’ve been down here,” Kimberly Kelley, another neighbor, told ABC’s affiliate in Kansas City, KMBC-TV. “She told us she only had two kids.”
The girl was found standing in the closet, according to the statement. She told officers “the closet was her room,” and she couldn’t go to breakfast with her mother and sisters because she “messes herself.” She also sleeps there, she said.
At the hospital, the child told detectives she had not been let out of the closet for two days, and she does not eat every day. She said her mother gets mad and “punches her on the back” because she “keeps peeing on herself.”
She is not allowed to play outside like her sisters, and instead has to play behind the couch, the girl said.
Jacole and her boyfriend were both arrested at his house. Jacole says she hid her daughter because she would get in trouble if someone saw how malnourished and dirty her daughter is. As for the other kids? CBS News says that neighbors told the Associated press, the woman’s other daughters were clean, happy and, if anything, “spoiled.”
The boyfriend is the father of Jacole’s other two kids, but not the ten-year-old. He says he had no idea she was locked in the closet.
There are a lot of questions in this story that will probably be answered when this case goes to trial. Such as, where is the father in this story? And if the boyfriend didn’t know the little girl was locked in a closet, where did he think she was? Were there no grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins or friends who inquired about the child?
Thankfully, the police were tipped off after someone called the child abuse hotline. That phone call likely saved this little girl’s life.
I don’t understand these mothers who treat their children this way. If someone has a child they don’t want, can’t they put them up for adoption or even drop the child off at the foster care office without legal repercussions? There has to be a solution beyond nearly starving a child to death and forcing her to live in her own bodily waste. If this little girl’s dad is still alive, maybe they’ll find him and arrest him too.

Don’t Call Me Fatherless: Celebrating Father’s Day Despite Not Having A Dad
I remember the last Father’s Day that my dad was alive.
It was three years ago. I had just graduated from college and was visiting my mom in Atlanta for the week. Before I left, I had bought my dad two Father’s Day cards. I love cards and he did too so, every year, I would take a significant amount of time searching for a funny one and a serious one. That year was no different and I found two perfect cards. In the hustle of trying to get out of the house and drive down to Atlanta in time for the Atlanta Greek Picnic, I didn’t get a chance to give my dad the cards. That’s okay, I told myself, I’ll give them to him when I get back. And off I went down South. A few days later, on Father’s Day, I called my dad to wish him a great one and thank him for the emergency money he had wired me the day before. The next day, I thought to myself that I should call him but it was late, so I decided I’d call him tomorrow.
The next morning, he was killed in a murder-suicide.
In the hurricane of emotions and activity that followed, I kept thinking about those Father’s Day cards sitting on my dresser unsigned and never given to him.
As if I were not suffering enough, those cards tortured me. They served as a sobering reminder that tomorrow is not promised and if you have a silly card to give to someone, give it to them — even if it means missing a sorority stroll at a picnic. Of course, I realize they were just cards, but they represented everything I lost on that devastating morning. They represented the words never uttered, a thankful spirit never expressed and the fact that I would never have a father again.
I was a fortunate one, I guess, considering some of the stories I’ve heard about people not even knowing who their father is. Even though my parents divorced when I was ten, my dad was a big part of my life growing up. My mother and I moved to Atlanta while I was in high school, but I ended up moving back to my hometown and into his house during my Senior year. Then, I attended college about 90 minutes away, so I was home all the time. He was there to lecture me about finances, attend school events, financially support me, and keep me sufficiently nervous about my choices in men.
When he died, a friend reminded me that I was a “lucky one” to have had a true father in my life for 23 years, but still I was utterly devastated that he wouldn’t be there for the next 23 and the 23 after that. It’s still sad to think that he isn’t here today to see how I turned out (and am still turning out). It’s especially sad around Father’s Day.
It’s weird, because I swear this country has turned up the festivities on this Hallmark holiday like none other since he passed. I’m sure that’s not the case and it just seems like that because I’m on the other side. Still, I’ve determined that this year I will still celebrate Dad’s Day despite not having a dad. I will be glad for the memories I have and celebrate the dads who are still creating memories with their kids.
Fathers get a bad rap in this country because of the many who have abandoned their kids. That’s not every dad though. Sure the statistics are dismal, but even if 50 percent of kids are living without a dad present, there are still 50 percent who have their dad there in their lives every single day. Then there are other kids who have a stepfather, grandfather, cousin, uncle or brother who have selflessly stepped up to the plate and been a father to a child who otherwise wouldn’t have one. I was already an adult when I lost my dad, but I am still thankful for my stepdad, my father-in-law and my father God in heaven. All whom serve as a daily reminder that I am not “fatherless”. That’s definitely something to celebrate this weekend.
I may even buy someone a card.

Do You Believe Him? Creflo Tells Congregation Marks on Daughter’s Neck Were From Eczema Not Choking
Much to many people’s surprise, Pastor Creflo Dollar still stepped in the pulpit yesterday despite the legal matters he’s currently engulfed in. As you know by now, Creflo’s daughter alleged that the Fayetteville minister choked and punched her during an argument over her wanting to attend a party and though the mega-church leader had already released a public statement on the domestic arrest, he wanted to address his congregation personally and tell them exactly why his daughter’s allegations are false. Here’s what he told them:
“I want to say this very emphatically, I should have never been arrested…The truth is that a family conversation with our youngest daughter got emotional…And emotions got involved and things escalated from there….The truth is she was not choked, she was not punched. There were not any scratches on her neck…But the only thing on her neck was a prior skin abrasion from eczema. To come and take a photo of a mark that’s been there for 10 years and not have enough intelligence to ask the parent what it is, is appalling….When the facts of this come out, you will be appalled.”
When Creflo Dollar first entered the sanctuary he was greeted with a massive standing ovation that drew memories of the welcome Bishop Eddie Long received from his congregation during his legal battle. But in Creflo’s case I think many truly believe he is innocent and have already thrown his daughter into the mini-Mike Epps category and believe she is a spoiled child who took advantage of the justice system’s tendency to believe women in domestic situations much like the comedian’s daughter did.
Eczema is quite an interesting defense so I’m curious to see what other “facts” pastor Creflo Dollar was alluding to yesterday. I suppose all will be revealed eventually though.
Check out the clip from his sermon yesterday. What do you think about the eczema defense?

Source: joy105.com
You’ve probably already heard about Pastor Creflo Dollar’s arrest on Friday for alleged assault against his 15-year-old daughter. As we told you on Friday, the scuffle between father and daughter all started over an argument on whether or not the young woman could attend a party. Though there was talk of his daughter being punched and choked, according to the Associated Press, authorities who responded to the call of domestic violence made by the 15-year-old (and corroborated by her older sister) say she was left with “superficial injuries.” Dollar allegedly put his hands on his daughter when the argument escalated. He was arrested at his home in Fayetteville, and posted bond of $5,000 on Friday morning. He has now released a statement about the incident, in which he says the following:
“As a father I love my children and I always have their best interest at heart at all times, and I would never use my hand to ever cause bodily harm to my children. The facts in this case will be handled privately to further protect my children. My family thanks you for your prayers and continued support.”
If you were wondering, yes, Dollar is expected to preach at church today. Expect some hoopla around that service if you’re in the area and plan to attend.
A big conversation has opened up since this story broke on Friday, and it basically prompted folks to ask when are you taking it too far in disciplining children who get out of line, and when did such discipline require a call to police and a charge of assault? To throw in my two cents, I’ll definitely say that times have changed, as have the children and young people of today. And from what I can see while riding the train or walking the streets, a few of these young’ns could use a whooping or two. But choking? No dice. Either way, I’m just starting to think this was a small family conflict that got blown out of proportion. But hey, only Creflo, his daughter and God really know what happened in that room, so I’ll let them work it all out…
Oh Lord! Pastor Creflo Dollar Arrested For Alleged Assault on Daughter

If you’ve ever been awake really early on a Sunday morning, chances are you probably know who Pastor Creflo Dollar is. If you don’t, you should know that he’s the founder and pastor of World Changers Church International in Georgia, and depending on who you ask, he’s got an interesting reputation. He definitely gives a great word, but controversy has surrounded him for a while as people criticize him for living a bit too lavish and not allowing his church to be “financially transparent.” And there’s something about a pastor with the last name Dollar who owns a couple Rolls-Royces and a private jet that just rubs folks the wrong way, right? But now he’s got a bigger issue to deal with, as the 50-year-old was arrested this morning for allegedly attacking his 15-year-old daughter.
Dollar was arrested at his home in Fayetteville, Ga. and was charged with simple battery and cruelty to children according to WXIA-TV, the NBC affiliate in Atlanta. According to the report, their scuffle was over whether or not the young lady could attend a party. Somehow things spiraled out of control from a conversation to a full blown fight, because the report goes on to say that Dollar wound up choking her, threw her to the ground, punched her, and if that wasn’t enough, hit her with a shoe (With a shoe too??? Geez…). When police arrived, the young lady was said to have a scratch on her neck that was given during the altercation.
In defense of himself, Dollar admitted that he did “restrain” his daughter when she became very disrespectful to him, and in the process he spanked (yes, spanked) her and wrestled her to the floor after SHE hit HIM. But that was it. No punching or shoe beating. In the end, Dollar ended up going to magistrate court and posted bond this morning. We’ll have to wait and see where these charges might take him as time passes, but boy oh boy did he get caught up in some mess.
This is a pretty sad situation I must admit, and when you’re somewhat of a popular public figure who is known for having a somewhat suspect reputation for different reasons, this type of thing doesn’t help. If all that talk of the young woman being hit with a shoe and choked is true, then this man’s got some issues, but if this was just a tussle that went left and was exaggerated, it wouldn’t be the first time a parent got into a messy altercation with their child, so alas, you can’t be that hard on him. Maybe the tussles didn’t end up like this, but you get what I’m saying. Either way, I’m sure there will be some new and nosey faces in church this Sunday…
How will it affect Dollar’s reputation? What were your thoughts on him before?
