I wouldn’t get ridiculously excited, because the promo isn’t more than 16 seconds, but considering that we haven’t seen any sign of the show since August of last year, this should satisfy any Single Ladies fan’s hunger…for now…
The show is set to return in January of next year and is sure to make a bang after such a long absence. Plus, there are a wealth of new faces coming in to cause trouble. LeToya Luckett, who is set to play the founder of a media management company named Felicia Price, spoke with us recently about her character (and don’t forget to check out the full interview):
“I play a character by the name of Felicia Price who’s a record exec. She’s a different kind of gal. She doesn’t take no flack from her employees. Very strong-willed. All about fashion. Almost like, have you seen Devil Wears Prada? Like that character. Yeah, same vein. So you already know what to expect from that.”
If that’s not enough, Damien Dante Wayans (from Second Generation Wayans previously on BET) will show up as a smooth manager named David Berenger for Price’s company, and actress Lesley Ann-Brandt of the TV show Spartacus will also appear as a crafty gold-digger named Naomi Cox. Word is, she’ll have an impact on the relationship of one of our main favorites: Keisha (LisaRaye), Raquel (Denise Vasi), or April (Charity Shea). Sounds messy…we can’t wait! How about you? Check out the short sneak peek trailer below and let us know what you think!
While many expected The Wayans family’s interview on “Oprah’s Next Chapter” to be all laughter and giggles, there were actually many serious and thought-provoking moments that came when least expected. One moment came when Keenen Ivory Wayans expressed that over the years, he’s learned that comedy is often used to disguise pain.
“I think that what people don’t understand is that comedy is the mask of pain. So people who are innately funny, are innately disturbed. Seriously that’s what it’s a mask for,” the “Living Color” creator expressed.
Of course, his comedic brothers and sister hysterically interjected, somewhat lightening the serious moment.
“I just meant that the art of comedy, it comes from the ability to take your pain and translate it into a funny presentation,” Keenen continued.
You know what they say about the funniest guy in the room; often times, he is also the saddest.

I cannot even imagine how hilarious next Sunday’s episode of “Oprah’s Next Chapter” is going to be. Oprah, who has finally realized Black talent is where it’s at, is going to have the entire Wayans clan on her show in a couple Sundays. That means, Kenan, Kim, Shawn, Marlon, and even Damien, Craig, and Damon Jr. — the second generation of the funny family.
We already saw in person how hilarious Marlon is when he came into the office and was all types of inappropriate, and Oprah said she laughed so hard it hurt when she was interviewing everyone at once. The episode, which airs March 3 at 9, is expected to be hilariously candid as the crew talks about mixing family and business and we cannot wait to see it.

Is BET Finally Winning? ‘Real Husbands Of Hollywood’ And ‘Second Generation Wayans’ Top Cable Ratings
This past Tuesday, BET premiered the highly anticipated scripted series Real Husbands of Hollywood along with Second Generation Wayans. Many were skeptical as to how these shows would perform for the network, considering how difficult it has been in the past to predict the success of BET’s scripted shows. However, it was pleasantly surprising to learn this morning that the two new additions to the BET lineup slaughtered their competition when it came to ratings Tuesday night.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Real Husbands of Hollywood, starring Kevin Hart, Nick Cannon, Boris Kodjoe, Robin Thicke, Dwayne Martin and J.B. Smoove topped all shows that aired during the 10 pm hour on cable television. The show’s debut episode is said to have pulled 4.1 million viewers. The sitcom was number one among all cable and network broadcasts falling within the adults 18-49 demographic with a 2.1 rating. The show’s encore, which aired at 11 pm excelled as well, bringing in 2.3 million viewers.
The husbands of Hollywood aren’t the only fellas reported to be topping the charts. It appears that Second Generation Wayans starring Damien Dante Wayans, Craig Wayans, Tatyanna Ali and George O. Gore II also performed superbly in its premiere night. The sitcom is said to have garnered 3.7 million viewers during its 10:30 pm premiere and received a rating of 1.7 among the 18-49 demographic. The 11:30 pm showing pulled an additional 1.4 million viewers.
Real Husbands of Hollywood currently reigns as the number one debut cable sitcom of the season and Second Generation Wayans comes in at number two.
Among adults 18-34, RHOH had the third best cable debut of all time.
It’s great to see that BET’s new shows are performing so well and that they are being supported.
Did you check out either of these shows this past Tuesday? What did you think?
